Review: My husband won a gift certificate in a golf tournament in Keswick for a free photo session and a free 8x10 last year. We contacted Cliff Bruce Studio, set up our session and he came out to our house last summer and took the photos. We met with him again to review the photos in person since he does not do online galleries. We learned then that his pricing was incredibly high compared to other photographers in our area and those that we've used before so we elected not to purchase additional photos and just asked for our free photo to be sent to us. He seemed put off by this but said we would receive it in about 6 weeks, so at least surely by the fall. Nothing came and we contacted his office again and again and left messages asking for him to contact us back, we heard nothing. Still have heard nothing. No photo came in the mail as promised. We have still yet to see anything and it's been a year. My husband won this gift certificate fair and square and we are due the free 8x10 that we have yet to receive. I have a friend who had the exact same thing happen to her when she won a session and photo from another event. This is terrible business practice and I would NEVER recommend his service to anyone. Charity events should be warned about him so they stop taking his "donations" that he never follows through on. Absurd!Desired Settlement: We want the photo sent to us as the gift certificate stated.

Review: My complaint of [redacted] Bruce Studio stands on a number of levels. I came into contact with [redacted] after winning a photography session and one free 8x10 photograph at an [redacted] benefit in Charlottesville. Living in Charlottesville at the time, [redacted] came there (as he said he often does) for the shoot. He was very professional and took a large number of shots. Several months later, I came to his studio to pick out a photograph. He spent an hour trying to upsell me, to the point of humiliating me for not spending thousands of dollars for a larger portrait. I picked a picture for him to send, as one was included in my prize, and he told me that he would send it to me. That was five months ago. [redacted] has not responded to the phone calls and letter that I have since sent. I have received nothing.Desired Settlement: I would like the photograph that was included as part of my prize. This was his donation to the [redacted], and it is probably being taken as a tax deduction despite his current refusal to follow through.
