On April 7, I had Clifford The Carpet Cleaner to my home I had several serious, costly issues with service renderedI used Clifford's service years ago maybe longer When he was 1st starting out His prices were fair, his service above good As time went on his prices went up and his service standards/attention to cleaning detail went downLeaving streaks of missed areas, etc So I stopped using him yearsI typically have my carpets cleaned every - monthsLast fall, I had a spot from a teaspoon of baby oil that had made a spot about inches wide, inches longI called Clifford The Carpet Cleaner company and explained the issueWe schedule a visit within a weekHe come in, gave me the cost It was high for the square footage compared to other companies I have used He asked me at that time why I stopped using himI said, I felt his pricing was high for the service rendered He said, "Well Mary always tell me and I will match those guys" He did not change his price for this serviceApril I called again as the same spot was darker with dirtHe came 4-7-17, I showed him the spot, reminded him that he was the last carpet cleaner to clean he said well I have some special oil cleaner - commercial kitchen hood cleaner that should do the trick ( I was wondering why he did not use that the 1st time)He stated it would not, could not harm the carpet but to keep my dog off that area until dry as it could irritate her padsHe started his routine which is to see the area to be cleaned, get the bill & payment before he cleans done I reminded him that when I called his wife offered the posted webpage discount of $for rooms He honored it BUT put on a $trip charge he treated the spot, asked to use my outside hose ( I've never had to provide water service before for ANY carpet cleaner My outside water had not yet been turned back on but he needed it, so I went and turned on faucet.)
He cleaned, with wet carpet it is impossible to tell is stains are outI noticed my garage door open ( he must have opened it to put something in the garbage) I saw him cleaning his equipment in my driveway) I said good bye and went back inThe next day I went out side and noticed my faucet was running a steady small stream of waterI shut it offEstimated over gallons or more water during this period, I only found it as I need my wheel barrel next to the faucetI also notice a foot by inch wide street of deep orange/yellow dead grass from my driveway where he dumped part of the chemicals he usedI sent an email notifying Clifford The Carpet Cleaner I followed up with a phone call at the same time, his Wife acknowledge receipt of the email and said " I printed it out so John can read itFriday evening, I received a phone message , "Hey Mary this is John from Clifford's, I got a message to call you " Nothing elseSo I sent another email acknowledging the call, but was surprised there was no mention of the problemI did NOT make any demands,
4-11-17, I got this email "Mary if there is a dollar difference in your April water bill compared to your march bill I'll pay for itFIY I did tighten your faucet Mary it seems that I can never do any thing right in your eyes, therefore I'am resigning as your carpet cleaner"
Now days after his service my carpet where the smaller stain , now there appears a big inches by inches circle, yellowish/orange spot with a darker ring around itADVISE: he is very head strong if you incur a problem or challenge to his price or serviceYou will not get him to stand by his workmanship or any damage that may occurI have to prove he left the faucet on, no explanation for dumping chemicals in my driveway or on lawn and now with the stain the carpet times the original size and change in carpet color - I am with out any recourse from Clifford The Carpet Cleaner companyBUYER BEWAREHis customer service is ZEROQuality of his workmanship LOWPrice HIGHBetter to just pay the same rate for *** ** *** *** and have them stand behind their work I am ALWAYS been please with their service and before they leave, they walk you thru to be certain it is top notch
I just had Clifford out to clean my carpets I have had him out to my home times in the last 1/years He has always been on time, been respectful of my wishes, performed excellent work, and cleaned up after finishing Both he and his wife, who does the scheduling, are very pleasant to talk to and work with I have never had any complaints He's the only carpet cleaner I call!
