Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below At this point, I am not sure why [redacted] is addressing this complaint, as there is no need to speak to [redacted] as he wasn’t the individual who I discussed trading in the vehicle once the vehicle arrived at the dealershipMy issue is not with ***, I spoke with him and regarding my concerns, my issue is after I spoke with [redacted] he advised, he would speak with Steve Padgett regarding my concern and one or the other would call me back with more options and a resolutionI have not received any type of correspondence from themAs discussed, I advised why I didn’t bring the vehicle to the dealership was due to the shop taking out the seats and floor board to find the ratI have images of the rat as well as a receipt of the purchase of a new cabin filter and cleaning the vehicle, you can also contact [redacted] because the driver who test drove the vehicle when I attempt to trade the vehicle in at their dealership to avoid traveling to Danville, who smelled the odor in the vehicleI don’t appreciate ***’s statement ‘ according to her’ I wouldn’t go through this trouble for a DVD player, which I can I have put in for $from a radio shop, in which I have already planned on purchasingThere is no way a rat was in the vehicle for the days (from the date of purchase) I drove to the beach and Alexandria, there were passengers through out the vehicle and no one saw a rat, it’s possible the rat entered the vehicle when the car was sitting on the car lot in the grass near the end of the road for weeks before I purchased the vehicleAt this point, I’m sure Honda doesn’t see fit to put in a DVD in the vehicle; however, there should be some compensation for this issue, such as paying for invoice at the shop for attempting to fix the issue Regards, [redacted]

I will share what you have told me with Honda's corporate office and the National Center for Dispute Settlement. If what you say is confirmed by Honda or a reputable third party, then the issue of the need for replacement or a refund will hopefully be settled.Regards,

I am responding to the complaint from *** *** on 8/3/case # ***My name is *** *** and I am the General Sales Manager for Steve Padgetts Danville Honda*** contacted me a couple weeks after she purchased her preowned Honda PilotShe wanted to know if she could return her
vehicleI asked her why she wanted to return the vehicle and she cut me off and said she had to take another call from the bank she financed the vehicle withShe called me back a couple hours later and told me the bank told her to discuss the matter with the dealershipShe told me that after getting back from the beach she noticed a smell in her vehicleI told her to bring it to the dealership and we would find the smell and get rid of itShe said she would bring it by but she never didShe took it somewhere elseAfter a few days she called me back and said that this other place found a dead mouse and removed itShe also complained about the cabin filterShe told me that she thought we knew about the dead mouse and tried to cover it up by spraying something on the cabin filterWe put a new cabin filter in the vehicle when we traded for itAnything on the cabin filter would have happened after she bought the vehicleI think that the mouse got in her vehicle after she bought it and diedThat's why it took weeks for her to detect the smellI also believe that she just wants a free DVD player put in her vehicleI did tell her that we were not going to give her a free DVD player because a mouse was (according to her) found by some other place that she wouldn't nameWe have done no wrong and if we would have been given the chance to find the smell would have fixed the problemThank you

The is not a computer generated diagnosis for a battery or starter motor These issues do not show on a computer generated diagnosis These issues do not create a "code" that a diagnostic machine can detect therefore, no machine is hooked up to the cars' computer to diagnose an issue This is a manual diagnosis that is performed in accordance with written documents provided by Honda You have already been provided these diagnostic instructions written by Honda.*** ***

I am seeking a date and/or time stamped computer generated copy showing that my battery and starter were tested objectively and failed those test Again, I don't have confidence in simply a verbal re-telling of events that supposedly prove replacement of both parts were warranted Is there such a document in existence or not?

Mrs***,Thank you for reaching out with any questions you haveI will certainly try to get you any information you needI have worked in the automotive industry for years and certainly pride myself on doing business with integrityHere at Steven Padgett Danville Honda we do business with
integrity and I would not allow any technician to do anything to a vehicle to cause it to break down at a later date. Any information I can pass on to you to help answer any questions you may have please feel free to askI will be very transparent in hopes to get this resolved and you be at ease with the repairs we made. I interviewed my shop foreman this morning about your vehicleIt turns out he is the technician that made the repairs to your vehicle by replacing the starter. When the vehicle arrived to the dealership my express center team lead technician assigned to your vehicle to diagnose why the vehicle would not startThe service advisor had the assumption after looking at the vehicle that it was only in need of a batteryMy technician tested your battery and found it was weak and in need of replacementThere are a couple different reasons this would happenOne of the main things we see when a vehicle will not start is the battery weak because of many attempts trying to start the vehicleThat will cause the battery to become too weak to start the vehicleThe second reason is the battery has been depleted of its power after years of use (Most common). After determining the vehicle had a weak battery our express lead technician replaced it with a New battery then tested the systemAt this time the vehicle still would not startMy Express technician them turned the vehicle over to our shop foreman which is a master certified technician trained by HondaOur master technician started the starter performance test mapped out by HondaUsing the trouble tree diagnosis provided by Honda the technician found the starter solenoid engaging the starter motor but the motor itself would not turnAt this point we have confirmed that the starter motor has a internal failure and needs to be replaced. If you would like to stop by the dealership I can provide you with the diagnosing instructions for a starter provided by Honda motor companyWhen we have a situation like this we normally let the customer have the failed part so they can take it to inspect themselves or have someone else run tests for verificationIn this case the repairs were completed over five weeks ago and we do not have the failed part that is in question Again, I will be fully transparent with any information you need in hopes to answer any questions you haveWe value you as a customer and hope to continue doing business in the future Fixed Operations Director*** ***

Honda motor company as a process for diagnosing starting issues. That process instructs the technician to follow the Honda instructions and replace parts when they are not performing like they should. The instructions I have printed off cannot be doctored or manipulated in anyway.Honda does not make a machine that will diagnose A starting problem. It is up to the technician to follow the process.  Honda does provide us with special tools  to help diagnose these  types of repairs.   We allow our customers to take any parts we removed from their vehicle so they can have a third-party inspector them.  In this case  repair was made over five weeks ago and we do not have the part in question.   I certainly wish I knew of your concerns sooner. I would've definitely held onto the part so you could inspected or have a third-party inspect It.  Myself and the shop foreman that repair your vehicle are available any time to sit down and have a discussion to help ease your concerns and answer any questions you may have. After speaking with him myself he was able to answer a lot of questions I had about the situation. Fixed Operations Director[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  This complaint has been resolved. Thank you

This is clearly not a case of false advertising.  If you reference the supporting document attached to this response, you will see that the specified VIN# of the vehicle in question has a Stock # of [redacted].  Unfortunately, through data gathered by a 3rd party vendor, the Stock #[redacted] was...

incorrectly listed in the price field as $10,082 by AutoTrader.  The clerical error has been addressed with 3rd party vendor and is being corrected within 24 hours.  This is a New 2017 Honda CRV that has an MSRP in excess of $25,000 that would never be intentionally listed on a 3rd party site for $10,082 by our company.  We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

At this point, I am not sure why [redacted] is addressing this complaint, as there is no need to speak to [redacted] as he wasn’t the individual who I discussed trading in the vehicle once the vehicle arrived at the dealership. My issue is not with [redacted], I spoke with him and regarding my concerns, my issue is after I spoke with [redacted] he advised, he would speak with Steve Padgett regarding my concern and one or the other would call me back with more options and a resolution. I have not received any type of correspondence from them. As discussed, I advised why I didn’t bring the vehicle to the dealership was due to the shop taking out the seats and floor board to find the rat. I have images of the rat as well as a receipt of the purchase of a new cabin filter and cleaning the vehicle, you can also contact [redacted] because the driver who test drove the vehicle when I attempt to trade the vehicle in at their dealership to avoid traveling to Danville, who smelled the odor in the vehicle. I don’t appreciate [redacted]’s statement ‘ according to her’ I wouldn’t go through this trouble for a DVD player, which I can I have put in for $500 from a radio shop, in which I have already planned on purchasing. There is no way a rat was in the vehicle for the 13 days (from the date of purchase) I drove to the beach and Alexandria, there were passengers through out the vehicle and no one saw a rat, it’s possible the rat entered the vehicle when the car was sitting on the car lot in the grass near the end of the road for weeks before I purchased the vehicle. At this point, I’m sure Honda doesn’t see fit to put in a DVD in the vehicle; however, there should be some compensation for this issue, such as paying for invoice at the shop for attempting to fix the issue.
