Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2015/07/06) */
As a *** certified and GAF certified contractor I am responding to the complaint filed against Climax Roofing*** *** and *** *** contracted with climax roofing to replace the roof of the home they were purchasing in October
I informed *** and *** that I usually do not do roof installs this late in the seasonThey informed me that they cannot close on the property until the roof has been replacedThe temperature was in the seventies when I replace the roofThen or days later the temperature suddenly dropped to the thirties and winter arrived earlyThe north slope concern was addressed by the GAF representative that I contacted for assessmentThe GAF rep stated to me and *** *** that if the North Slope shingles did not seal down by next spring of weather permitting , then GAF will provide the materials and labor to replace the shingles on the north facing slopeThe notarized item that was signed stated that by May 31st if the North Slope shingles did not seal down weather permitting then the North Slope would be replacedAs we know it's been raining all spring and we haven't had very many dry days or high temperatures with all the flooding and so on until June arrivedIn mid May *** *** called me and wanted to start the claim process and I informed him that the weather hasn't permitted a chance for a proper seal so let's give it till the end of June when the temperatures are more like summer if they don't seal down I will put in the claim with GAF and move foward*** agreed and we were in compliance.I called *** again in early June to let him know the heavy rains spring have finally let up and it should be warming up and I will call at the end of the month. Then in mid June *** called me and demanded me to come out and replace the roof yelling and cussin then threatening to call the Revdex.comI told her that I talk to *** earlier in mid-May, I couldn't get a word in edgewise and she just kept yelling and threatening to compain to the Revdex.comI was in a very recent bike accident on meds and can't drive or walk for a few weeks*** stated she didn't give a *** and she's calling the Revdex.comAT this point , I agreed that she should call the Revdex.com because she just keeps yelling and I can't get a word in without interuption.I have been a local contractor for over yrs, I have serviced over properties , I don't have any complaints with Pervious property owners , My qualifications as a local contractor are I.C.C Certified, HANG Certified , GAF Certified Contractor, A+ Rated with the Revdex.com , MULTIPLE GOLD STAR AWARDS with the Revdex.com.in addition I contacted GAF and started the procedure in filing a claim for the customer regarding the north facing slope within in the time agreed between me and the customer. We are in compliance and moving forward , if there are any questions or inquiries Feel free to contact us at
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2015/07/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The following response from *** *** from Climax Roofing is filled with inaccurate and untruthful responsesThe following statements are accurate to the best of our knowledge and forthcoming from the homeowners
Climax Roofing never informed us that he did not do roofing "this late in the season."
I had already closed on my house because it is illegal to roof a house that was not under my full ownershipAt the time of roofing I owned the property
3.The City of Erie came over after the roof was completed (Early November) and stated through documentation that the inspector would not "SIGN OFF" on this roof to close the permit
4.The "GAF" representative stated to us that the roof would be up for review in the spring
On December 16, a notarized agreement was signed by both parties.Climax Roofing received full payment for the roof at that timeSee attached
We called Climax Roofing and had *** *** look at the roof on May 15, Climax Roofing asked at that time for another days which would put the date at June 15, for repair
7.There was no correspondence (phone or letters) in early June and there were no dates set for the repair
On June 20, I called Climax Roofing reminding *** *** of the affidavit/notarized agreement in which he continued to make excuses and not follow through with the notarized
agreement
At no time was foul language used or yellingI just stated the facts
On July 6, *** *** left two voice mails stating that the GAF Representative was contacted," we would eventually get the materials out there and get the roof replaced."
11.Climax roofing has stalled on repairing my roofThe Climax roofing owner *** *** behavior has been unprofessional and inappropriateHe has not stated the truth and came up with multiple excuses to wait to fix the roof breaking the notarized agreement/affidavit
12.The city of Erie, Colorado has minimum roofing standards and stated by the city this roof did not even meet minimum roofing codes
Final Business Response /* (4000, 23, 2015/08/21) */
I'm just not really understanding any of this the materials have been delivered earlier this month , I've been dealing with GAF on the customers behalf and after all this back and forth communications I am therefore requesting the following agreement needs to be signed and notarized before any work is to be performed Remove and replace the north slope shingles at no charge to the customer for materials and labor in accordance to this agreement which includes the following :
that there are no guarantees that the shingles color may not match exactly or consistent with the shingle on the remainder of the roof that are not being replaced
It is the opinion and of *** *** that is recognized as the owner and operator of Climax Roofing and is an Licensed Contractor with the city of Erie ,Certified *** Inspector , I.C.CCertified Contractor, GAF Certified System Plus Contractor and an A+ rated with the Revdex.com Contractor that the shingles have sealed down and has laid consistent with the south slope of the same in appearance, mechanical and performance to the manufacturers standards and recommendations and passed *** from the city of Erie building department prior to any work that is to be performed according to this agreement
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 25, 2015/08/24) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
How long should it take a roofer to complete a job? It has been months of trying to get Climax Roofing to come and fix this terrible roofing jobThe materials have now been sitting on my roof for three weeks, probably destroying the roof as week after week goes byClimax Roofing three times has said a crew is coming over and no one has shown upClimax Roofing also wanted us to pay to shut off the electricity for a second timeThis was another recent set back which now we mysteriously don't have to shut it offThe next deterrence of completing this job was created by Climax Roofing in an agreement of discoloration of the shinglesYesterday, when I spoke with Climax Roofing I agreed three times to sign an agreement with GAF because they are responsible for the warranty of the shinglesI am very confused of why Climax Roofing is confused since I agreed to sign an agreement with GAFIf you do not want to complete this job and do this job right I have requested for the last four months you return the amount of $and we can end this process ASAP! I would be more than happy to begin the mediation process and/or small claims court suing for the amount of $It should not take ten months for anyone to complete a job!
