Thank you for the response.  Please note that Mr. [redacted] continuously
places the onus of knowledge of the tile on the consumer, i.e., myself.  Henotes that the tile is rated for "outdoor" use.Please ask Mr. [redacted] to specify, what, precisely this means.  I am especiallyinterested in the specifications of the tile that I purchased that are relatedto five areas:  1) Grade, 2) PEI Wear Rating, 3) Water Absorption, 4) AND THISIS CRUCIAL C.O.F. (coefficient of friction) rating, and 5) Frost rating.All tile manufacturers and suppliers have access to these ratings for alltiles.  Consumers are typically unaware of these and it is, in fact, theresponsibility of the supplier to call to the consumer's attention, anypotential risk that could be associated with the tile beyond simply statingthat the tile is OUTDOOR rated.While the tile that I purchased may have had a rating of "outdoor," such adesignation is general and vague without the factors as noted in 1-5 above.Please have Mr. [redacted] provide the actual specifications from the tilemanufacturer that indicate the ratings in the five areas requested.Sincerely yours,[redacted]

Review: Clinefelters Flooring installed a ceramic tile on my front porch. I purchased the tile from Clinefelters and their employees installed it. As of the first rain, we learned that our front porch had turned into a majorly hazardous slipping problem. I contacted Clinefelters and told them about it. Their response: put kitty litter or sand on the tile to keep it from being slippery. They insist that their "supplier says that the tile is rated as an outdoor tile." No other flooring company that has been out to see the work can believe that Clinefelters sold me this tile for a front porch and had its installers install it. Clinefelters only says that the tile is "rated for outdoor use" and will do nothing to help in this situation. An accident occurred at my home ON THE TILE, where a 13 year old girl slipped and injured her chin -- it was raining that day and I hadn't put out the kitty litter to prevent the tiles from being treacherously slippery. Clinefelters NEVER returns phone calls. When I call them, they say there is nothing they can do AND nothing they can suggest to reduce the hazardousness of their installation.Desired Settlement: Clinefelters should replace the tile with a tile that does not pose a major hazard or risk. If they cannot replace the tile with a more suitable one, they should at least find a way to treat my current porch system so that it is not so treacherous.

In June 2010 Ms. [redacted] came into my store and requested tile to cover her front porch. We recommend exterior grade- PEI 5-tile for exterior applications. A salesperson at that time would have shown her the tile selections for Ms. [redacted] to choose. Ms. [redacted] chose the tile for her porch, Arpa Palace color Blue 12 x 12.
