We hired Mr. [redacted] to complete projects around our home. He was to put a second coat of paint on the exterior of the fence with two coats of paint on the interior. Replace baseboards and shoe molding throughout the home. Install tile in the kitchen/dining room/laundry room and pantry. He was to paint the rooms excluding the bedrooms and the bathrooms. We provided the paint for the fence. We provided the baseboards and shoe molding. We provided the necessary materials for tile work excluding the tools. It was verbally agreed he would remove the trash from outside. He instead, took our possessions and was slow to returning some but not all. The job was incomplete and he failed to correct the many deficiencies and return our possessions as we discussed. In addition to the above mentioned, the garage door is no longer mechanically functioning. The living room light turns on intermittently. Upon hire, Mr. [redacted] stated that he would take full accountably of his workers, our home, and the clean up during and after performing his duties. Mr. [redacted] made it clear that the job wasn't done until everything was cleaned up. He notched one of the baseboards to accommodate an organizer railing instead of removing and adjusting the railing. He charged us extra for sheetrock repair, failed to replace a baseboard to full length, failed to fill and sand the trim, failed to complete the job timeline, and failed to correct deficiencies that he agreed to complete. After paying $500 for baseboards, Mr. [redacted] stated that his installer messed up the install of the baseboards twice. We purchased 25 12 foot sections of baseboard and shoe molding for a 1,454 square foot home minus the 100 square feet for the kitchen. When we mentioned to Mr. [redacted] to fix the notched baseboard and a shortened baseboard, Mr. [redacted] asked for more money. We've purchased 250 square feet of tile. The dining/kitchen/laundry room/ and pantry floor is only 210 square feet. Our fence is not complete even with excess paint for the project.Product_Or_Service: General ContractingAccount_Number: XXXXXXDesired SettlementMy wife and I want $2300 refunded for half the job that Mr. [redacted] performed. We also want from Mr. [redacted], the cost of repairing the living room light fixture and the cost of repairing the garage door. We request $250 to replace half the cost of supplying the baseboards. We request monetary compensation for the items that have yet to be returned. We request $350 to cover the cost of replacing the existing baseboards that did not match the new baseboards. Finally, we request $225 for the paint.Business Response These clients knew that there would be one coat of paint in the house. I bent over backwards saving them money and they still owe me money as well. They should be ashamed for the lies and trying to ruin someone's reputation.

Wk was not completed. It took 3wks to put up a single wall- and it still was poorly done.Bathroom was not put back together. Homeowner left to complete[redacted] Contractors was hired to reinforce floor supports for bathrooms. Black mold was found in walls. Bathrooms were both emptied out in process (except for tub & surround in hall bath). Floor reinforcement was the only completed project. Master bathroom was completely reinstalled, but caulking not completed -completed by resident. The master bathroom door was not re-hung, and floor vent not reconnected to the floor. Resident re-hung door on hinges, door does not close properly. Resident will have to repair or hire someone to repair. Floor vent reconnected by resident. Hall bath plumbing not reconnected and baseboard behind toilet not cut and installed -completed by resident. Wires for wall light fixture sealed behind drywall -resident will have to hire someone to find wires and reconnect fixture. Resident has reinstalled toilet, will have to reconnect plumbing for vanity and complete caulking. Wall in living room took 3wks to put up, and is still not complete. Corner is still wavy and outlet holes cut incorrectly (pictures avail)- resident will have to fix and complete. [redacted] had set appointment to arrive early, in last contact, to finish details. [redacted] was a no show/no call, and refused to respond to correspondence throughout day when resident tried to contact about intention to complete work. Photos of incomplete work with time stamp available upon request. This project took 4-5 weeks, largely do to disorganization and poor work ethic and is still incomplete. Resident made several attempts to contact [redacted] on intention to complete work, but [redacted] refused to respond.Desired SettlementAs some work was completed, of the $6900+ paid, we are only requesting a refund of $1000.00 to pay for work not completed. Will not accept an offer to complete work at this time, as Cline has proven unreliable and workmanship was poor.

This so-called contractor never completed the contracted work.Dec 3, agreement to replace roof and remodel a room. $10K given. Mold issues reported by the contractor changed the timeline for completion as well as the cost. Another $10K given. Throughout the next 2 months, unsupervised crews managed to expose hot electric wires, tear up the screens on the porch and perform very shabby work, leaving debris covering the yard for weeks and taking my full gas can. I had to personally purchase materials (mudding compound) for the crew to do their work as their supervisor could not be found. More promises made by contractor, nee, handy man, then...vanished on Feb 5, never completing the project, taking all the money. I, unfortunately, paid him in full, $28,800. I feel foolish, used and so very disappointed.Desired SettlementRefund - I will be suing this company.Business Response The job started out as a roof and addition. She is correct that severe mold issues were present after the rood was tore off we found every decking board to be rotted out and after removal the attic was infested with mold . Before we continued I spoke with the homeowner and notified her of the issues and gave her a price to fix them. Before we were finished with the extra work she told me she was running out of money and didn't have enough to pay me. I told her I would work with her but she was shorting me by 3 grand . The project was finished except the addition and I told her once she came up with the rest we would continue. I do over a 100 projects a year and you can't satisfy everyone, especially those that don't have enough money to pay for their projects.
