MrGeorge B*** informed me that he has spoken to *** *** We do plan on correcting the problem *** *** deck, I apologize for any confusion I have spoken with MrT***, our Vice
President, about *** *** deck. MrT*** assured me he will be sending a crew to correct the problem with in the next to weeks. We apologize for the time frame, however, we want to send out our head foreman and deck specialist to handle *** *** deck. Unfortunately, this is our busiest time of year and he is already booked up weeks in advance. I will have MrJim T*** contact *** *** in advance of a crew coming out. *** *** may also feel free to contact MrT*** if he has any questions

I have spoken with Mr. Thurman our Vice President and person in charge of scheduling.  He said that the date [redacted] has stated, 4/25/14,  will work.  He may actually schedule sooner.  If it is ok, Mr. T[redacted] will call [redacted] this week to schedule the day.

Review: In September 2013. I contacted Clinton Fence to provide an estimate to repair two fence gates they had installed several years earlier. When their representative came ([redacted]), I pointed out on one gate that it was slopping at least 45 degrees from horizintal and dragging on the ground. I commented on the slope of the gate several times. I indicated that I was interested in repairing the situation and not getting a new gate. [redacted] wrote up a work order, basically installing heavier hardware. He never made any attempt to look at the post to whic the gate was attached to see if the post was out of alignment. Whe the repairs were completed, the one gate was still slopping and they had trimmed the bottom of the fence to almost nothing.

When I complained, they sent out their quality control person ([redacted]). He immediately investigated the post and determined that it was not straight. He said it woulkd have to be replaced and reset in concrete. Repositioning the gate on the faulty post would not solve the problem. He indicated the worked ordered by [redacted] was performed as ordered.

My concern, and I discussed this with the owner ([redacted]) was that [redacted] never took the time to examine the post to see if it was causing the problem. The solution suggested by [redacted], as explained by their Clinton's own quality person, would not work because the problem was with the post and not really with the gate.

I do not challenge the fact that the repairs listed on the work order were performed as ordered. What I challenge is that the work ordered was not a solution to the problem. [redacted] was supposed to be an expert and I trusted him to order the necessary work. He as in a hurry and did not take the time to properly investigate the situation.

The owner was fixated on my not wanting a new gate (more money for the company) than listening to the fact that a new gate would not work unless the post was replaced and reset.

I requested they waive the fee ($245) to come out and I would pay the charges to have the post replaced (about $175). The owner refused. Anyone an look at the gate and see it is not horizontal, but rather the product of sloppy and imporoper repairs. If the gate was truly fixed, it would be a straight line.Desired Settlement: Cinton Fence replace and rest the post as recommended by their own quality person and replace the gate they damaged with a new gate.
