Clore's Repair Shop & Towing Reviews (1)

Review: I had my car towed by Clores to the shop for repair. Initially I told the guy who towed my car and the shop mechanic the problem [redacted] had diagnosed. I even showed and left the paper in the car from [redacted] giving in details what was wrong with my car. 1 week approx. had passed and I had not heard from the shop so I called and the mechanic I spoke with told me nothing was wrong with my car. I again explain that Toyata had told me and informed the mechanic that there is a paper in the car from [redacted] saying I needed a speed sensor. The mechanic said he would look at the car again. When he call me back he said it was the gas metal and that a speed senor would not stop the car from accelerating. I told them that if they thought that changing the gas metal would fix the problem then OK and what about the speed sensor. Clores said the gas pedal was the problem. I got the car back and write away I new it was not fixed. It cost me $425.00 and the car was dirty where the mechanic had dirty hands and black grease inside my car on the door of the drivers seat, left screws and bolts on the floor of my car. I called the shop and complained that my car was not fixed, the mechanic answering the phone told me to bring the car back and they would look at it and I agreed. Instead I took my car to Brown [redacted] in Charlottesville and they fixed my car costing me $366.00 and they changed the speed senor as they dx.

I went back to Clores showed the gentleman in the booth my paper work and explained my complaint. He told me to come back when the women employee was in the office and they would make thing right. I came back another day and spoke to the women employee and she read the paper work and told me that Clores had but my car on the computer and it said gas pedal and she was not giving me any money back. I never got any proof that the car was dx and unlike [redacted] who specialize in [redacted] car did show proof . She was rude and unprofessional.Desired Settlement: all or half my money back

Response:

Clore’s Repair Show towed customer’s car to our repair shop.

We read paper customer supplied from [redacted]. Our tech drove car and ran a

computer check on Customer’s car. Once ran a computer diagnostic on customer’s

car computer showed a code P2135 Throttle/pedal position sensor/switch “A’/switch

“B” voltage correlation. Ran diagnostic chart for code P2135 after ran test

found accelerator pedal assembly to be defective. Service advisor call customer

to give an estimate, explained to customer the problem customer approved to

repair car customer also stated to fix it if that was the problem. Service advisor

explained to customer that accelerator pedal assembly is what our diagnostic

shows to be the problem. Clore’s repair show performed repair and test drove

car several times. Service called customer to inform car was ready. Customer

came to repair shop to pay for repairs and pick vehicle up. When customer was

at the service picking car up asked service was car repaired Service informed customer

that yes we had repaired it and drove

several times and cars drives good and if she had any problems to let Clore’s

know and bring it back. Customer left the shop in vehicle. Customer called the

shop 2-3 days later to state the vehicle was not accelerating. Service advised

customer to bring car back in so we could drive it and check what was going on.

Customer agreed but did not bring car back for Clore’s to check. Customer came

in about a week later and wanted a refund of the repair Clore’s Repair had

done. Service advisor Randolph could not help at the time and advised customer

to come back when Service advisor Becky would be in. Customer came back about a

week later and explained to service advisor Becky that the car had the same

problem of not accelerating and she told to [redacted] to have repairs and wanted to

refund from Clore’s for the repair that we had performed. Service advisor Becky

talked to tech who worked on car tech stated he had run the chart for the code

he had pulled and the diagnostic chart showed the pedal assembly to be problem.

Service advisor Becky explained to customer that Clore’s tech had a code and

ran then chart and showed the gas pedal assembly to be the problem and that she

was not going to give customer a refund. At Clore’s repair shop we stand behind

our work and always let all of our customer’s know if there is any problem with

a repair that we perform to please bring it back we will make it right. Customer

agreed to bring car back to let us recheck and did not. If we did not have a

chance to relook at the car how do we know the car is doing exactly the same

problem therefore a refund will not be given, a car can have multiple issues at

any given time.

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

I take my car to [redacted] for maintenance every oil change and they let me know what is wrong with my car for years. I took my car to Clores thinking it would be cheaper. So when my car broke down I told Clores what the problem was at the time it was towed. I even called and spoke to a mechanic who told me nothing was wrong with my car. I again told them what the problem was and the engine light was on. I explained that the engine light will go off but would come back on in time. The mechanic told me he would have the car looked at again. The car stayed there for about 2 weeks. I paid Clores 425.74 on 5/20/16 I did not any information showing my car was on the computer and was diagnosed. I took the car home and drove it and the engine light came back on. I called them and was told to bring the car in. I took the car to Browns [redacted] June 1 and they changed the speed sensor like I had asked Clores to do before they said the changed the gas pedal which [redacted] would have told me if the gas pedal needed to be changed. When I got the car back it was dirty with grease on the drivers door and I should them the receipt from [redacted]. At that time the mechanic I had been talking to told me that I should come back when Becky comes in and she will make things right. I went back in a couple days later and she went to the mechanic who worked on my car and I saw her speaking to him I never got any paper work that the car was on the computer they did not do what I asked the whole time showing them paper work from [redacted].
