There must be a cost between the and wiringIn the future u may need to have that wiring done and since they skimped on it they should pay me the differenceIf you can't seek money that's fineI want you to know what terrible service we received and how rude and unprofessional they are

Sunday morning May 29thMy husband was outside checking the pool and I was making coffeeWhen I turned on the water we had zero water pressureI went to the bathroom and the pressure was the same there so I went outside to get my husbandWe went to the utility room where the pump was housedHe told me to stay in the utility roomHe went to check the breaker and it had trippedHe turned the breaker back on while I was still in the utility room and it looked like the 4th of JulySparks were flying everywhere and I screamed at the top of my lungs as it scared meThis was our first time ever with a well issue as we have always had city water and the only place we knew to call was The Pump Doctors because we had seen trucks around our neighborhood. We called and Rich came to our home an hour laterHe came downstairs, looked at the unit and saw the galvanized pipe and IMMEDIATELY suggested that we replace our entire systemHe didn't even try to diagnose anythingWe asked him how much it would cost and he said $4k to $But most likely the low end of $4kWe asked how much it would cost to just replace what was there and he said $He highly suggested we run new lines to the house because of the pipes coming through the basement floor were galvanizedHe called fixing the pump "a band-aid" and did not recommend itWe at that point felt we had no choice but to follow his recommendations and replace the entire systemHe did say that they would not be able to replace our system until Wednesday or ThursdayHe said to get us through he could hook us up to our neighbors water if they were willing., drilling holes to the outside where Randy had dug the trench for the new water lineThey never removed the gutter drain so all the water that was on the roof rushed into this hole and could have flooded our basementThankfully we have a drain in our garageThursday they got most of the work done and stayed until 7pm that night to get us waterAfter they hooked our water in my husband asked Rich why he was wiring it to our old electrical? We needed an outlet to plug our water softener intoRich said we needed to run an extension chord from the other side of the room for our water softenerWe said no because we knew that is a fire hazardAt that time we found out that they installed a submersible pump instead of the that we were promisedThis was when we talked to the owner for the first timeWe needed to know what was happening and whyWe were quoted certain items for a certain amount of money and it wasn't happeningWhen we spoke with Blake he immediately got defensive and angry and started to yellHe rubbed it in our faces that it SHOULD have cost us $7k but they were doing us a favor by getting us waterHe also was angry because this job was taking way too longHere are a few thoughts on thisWhether we are paying $or 7k we should still be getting the same workmanshipI feel that because the job took so long they were rushing to get out and the job was done poorly. In the meantime it was suggested to me to check with my insurance company to see if it may be coveredI was expecting nothingWhen I called Travelers the gentleman was quick to say it was coveredHe asked me if it was struck by lightning and I said I didn't know that my family and I were all sleepingThings soon escalated when our yard was destroyedI called our insurance company to see if they could cover more due to the diggingAt that time he said they needed to send out an adjustorWe had already been assured that we were covered in full and the check was coming soonShe came to our home and immediately determined that it was old age and said it wasn't going to be coveredHow would you feel if you were told you were covered 100% on a $bill and then they change their mind and backed outI had just had our son a few weeks before and this was a huge part of my frustration.Thursdays work was really sloppyThere were MANY things that needed to be done before we would even consider payment. After days of work my husband needed to get back to work so I took the day off to be homeThey came first thing in the morning, I had called Blake early that morning to discuss the pumpMy husband and I really thought that the pump should have been installed and I was going to ask them to put in the pump they promised usBlake never called he just showed up to the house to talkOnce I saw the trucks pull in I took my newborn son outside to discuss changes that needed fixedWhen I told the guys I wanted that pump installed because that was what was promised they all got very upset and rude with meThey started calling Blake and talking rudely right in front of meThey made me feel like I was asking them to do something they didn't promise, like it was my fault they installed the wrong pumpBlake showed up and I told him about the pumpHe got extremely upset with me and told me I was being pettyHe then proceeded to talk about how long this job was taking and how he should have charged me 7k.......I told him there were many issues that needed to be fixed before I would payHe snapped and demanded payment right thenI said NO! I was not paying until the job was DONE! He told me there was no price difference between the and He said the was more efficientI asked him to show me in the catalog so I could see if there was a differenceThere is no cost difference in the pump itselfHowever the wiring cost more and the would have been WAY more efficient for usBut I suppose that is something they aren't worried aboutI took Blake in the house to show him the issues that needed to be fixedHe was shocked at some of the things he saw and demanded that they fix itRich was fixing everything while Randy was fixing the mess in the yardWhat we asked them to fix was:They left the holes in the floor openWe required that they fill them in because of Radon gasWe had to have a Radon system put in when we bought the house so we weren't chancing It.The way the lines were run to the pressure tankThey were really sloppy and it didn't make sense the way it was set up.We needed them to install a new outlet as our old one burned upThe lines in the garage look terribleThey zip tied the electrical line and water line togetherThey didn't even run the lines evenlyThey didn't bother cutting the zip ties, so they are sticking out everywhereWhere they drilled the holes for the lines in the garage they didn't fill the holes around the lines so I had them fix that tooThe placement of the lines was bad as well some of the cabinet doors are not able to open without hitting the lineWe believe we are going to have a huge issue with our water freezing this winterThey did a poor job of cleaning up after themselves. As far as the excavation goes our yard is ruinedWe have had someone look at it already and we were told its going to cost 600-to fix itWe cant even open the gate to our backyard all the way due to the mounds of dirt left.In conclusion we feel we were duped by the pump doctorsWe were given a quote that yes they did stick with but the quality of work was not thereI would never treat a client the way that we were treatedWe were yelled at, disrespected and insultedI feel that they thought we were asking for too much and they paid us back with the quality of work they deliveredI appreciate that they thought they were helping us out but they weren'tWe have a ton of work to fix the mess they left usI wouldn't recommend them to anyone

On Thursday 3/15/we went to Ms *** house and loosened the filter, had her put it back on while we stayed to make sure it did not leak, she marked the filter to show which way it loosens and she now can do it herselfIt was our understanding that this would solve her complaint..She called a few days later to complain about our written response to this complaint and wanted it removed. I explained that we would not remove our factual response

*** provided a verbal clarification: Blake S*** came to her house on Monday and fixed it, it was over tightened & he had to go get another "o" ring and replaced it, which fixed it*** indicated that her & Blake came to an agreement on Monday, and that Blake would retract the response and she would close it out

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
They show how terrible the work was doneWe have read
pump doctors response and we do not agreeThe well is only feet
from the back of the house and feet deepWe have only lived in this
house for year, how do they expect us to know where the well is, that
is their jobIn the first quote it was stated they would "find the
well, run new lines, put a submersible pump in." They said they
would put a breaker in the breaker box and they didn'tThey wired it
back into the old systemYes we we're thankful they didn't tear up our
patio however they advertise that they have some kind of horizontal
drilling for instances like thisSee picture On
the inside of the house they were hurrying because of their own issues
and did a sloppy jobThey ran the lines through the house and it looks
very badLeft zip ties whole instead of cutting themWe asked the
owner about all of this and his response over and over was that this job
was taking too long and they should have been done alreadySo how is
it my problem that they took forever on the job so we get shotty work
done? So yes we got charged the for what they called a 7k job
Let's just say the quality was not thereSee pictures The
owner says he didn't yell at me? I stood out in the driveway with my
newborn son in my arms as all the men ganged up on me about the
situationI asked him to put in the that he promised and he
immediately flew off the handle and was demanding payment right thenI
said no not until the job was doneI told them the holes in the walls
and floor needed to be filled and they need to change the outlet because
our water softner needed to be plugged in.I was yelling
because it was the only way to get through to himI will never ever
recommend themThey do not value their customers and don't take
ownership for their own flawsSee pictures. They told us
our yard would settleThat much dirt and rock will never settleWe
were told to fix that mess it will cost at least 600-dollarsIf
they think that's good excavation then so be itOwner and his
wife are very rude and disrespectfulThey yell and scream about
everythingI would never recommend pump doctors! Regards, *** ***

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The initial response to my complaint from Pump Doctors dated 3/15/18 was totally fabricated, and included information that can be refuted with evidence. I am at a loss as to why this was written; it did not come from the owner. As this information is a public document, I contacted the owner yesterday and asked him to retract the entire statement. I hesitate to send any evidence that I have until the owner has a chance to post his corrections. Regards,  [redacted]

There must be a cost between the 220 and 110 wiring. In the future u may need to have that wiring done and since they skimped on it they should pay me the difference. If you can't seek money that's fine. I want you to know what terrible service we received and how rude and unprofessional they are.

Cleveland the business has been resolved. I didn't see a link or anywhere else to click on to update the information. Hopefully this does stay on record or file still. Just wanted to let someone know.Thank you,[redacted]

The filter is not over tightened, it is put on correctly so that it does not leak. The filter does not even need to be changed yet, which is why we told her we would stop when we are in the area, which we would have as a courtesy to her.. The inline filter takes out particles from the water, it will...

become clogged and you will lose pressure when it needs to be changed, that has not happened . This is why we did not go there immediately and told her we would stop when we are in the area, which we just haven't been in that area this month.  Mrs [redacted] stated calling us 2 days after we replaced her pressure tank and hot water tank wanting a warranty on her furnace which  we did not touch. Then she started calling about changing the filter. A filter that is white will look dirty within a day from iron /grit or fine dirt that does not mean it needs to be changed. As I stated before if the filter needed to be changed she would have no water in the trailer.  We cannot go back an replace her filter every month or week or  for free, she told us she had a son an nephew who lived nearby to do this. Blake, the owner and the person who installed this filter correctly, will stop there today and take the old filter out it will be  up to her to put it back in the way she likes it and she will be responsible for it from then on.

[redacted] called to say the business paid for carpet cleaning company to clean my carpet. They are currently doing it right now. Please close the complaint as resolved.

On...

May 29th, 2016 Pump doctors, our company, was call to [redacted] because they had no water. Their system was an old jet pump that had seized, it had old galvanized pipes going out to well ( those pipes are not used anymore because they get break down over time.) We recommended replacing the water line between the house and the well, replace the jet pump with a submersible  down the well and the pressure tank inside the house which also was shot.. ( at this time the client had no water because of the fore-mentioned problems.) We got them water temporarily by tying into a neighbors system.   The Clients well was buried , the client told us were they and the neighbor thought the well was, our locator also picked something up in this area. We gave the client a estimate for 4000-4500.00 for us to replace pump, pipe, wire, pressure tank and all needed fittings digging from where they said the well was to the house were the old pipe came in about 50'.   On June 1st we started and in normal circumstance would have been done that day or at the latest the next morning.  The well was not where they stated we found a buried clothesline pole, the well was 50 feet away. ( we have a couple ways of finding a well- our locator  which was not picking up anything else , digging from pipes starting at the house and going to the well ( this would have had us digging straight thru an extensive raised paver patio and maybe their pool) we called in a favor from NYSEG and he located the well with equipment they use in an emergency.  3:00pm June 1st we now know where the well is 100' away from the house straight across the patio we dug down expecting it to be 4-5 ft which is normal it is 10ft down( see pictures)when the old owners put the pool in the raised the ground all around it and laid this real expensive patio and buried the well another 4 feet.   We talked  to the owners suggested  another route around their patio so as not to destroy it, they were happy. They were also at this time, told by their insurance agent that this was covered by their homeowners policy. We have been doing this a long time, I didn't think that was going to work out, and did warn the client that wear and tear on  30+ old system I had never seen covered.   June 2nd got the 100ft by 4' by 2' trench dug all the pipe and wire laid ( The Insurance adjuster who I had talked to earlier came out to see the site,  talked to our guys and she was amazed at the amount of work we were doing and we had not raising our estimate) and no replacing an old  system is not covered by homeowners  insurance, Mr and Mrs [redacted], went from being unhappy it was taking so long, to glad we didn't destroy their patio, to mad we were making a mess of their yard( especially after they found out Insurance was not covering it)   Told Mrs [redacted] we were installing a Goulds 110 submersible  instead of the 220 Gould pump we had on our estimate , not because of price, but because of time ( both pumps cost the same) we explained that we were not going to raise our cost over the amount of the estimate, even though we had every right to. that was the only change we made to that estimate. My husband felt bad for them, young family, new house and all these thing were going wrong, they didn't understand water wells, they had no idea what excavating cost were, and I believe they really didn't understand the trouble we went through to save that patio. I also don't thing they realize how much that patio cost and would cost to repair.  June 3rd we finished the job they paid the original estimate cost of 4500.00 for a complete new water well system. Goulds submersible pump 10GS05421( stainless series not their low end series( we won't use that), new WR80 Pressure tank, new pipe and UF wire down the well and to the house, 100'+ of trench and a 10' by 8 ' hole to get safely down to that ridiculously buried well.5 year warranty on both the pump and the pressure tank.  No the owner did not yell at her,( he may had to talk a little louder to get her to listen, because she was yelling at him.Yes he did show her the price of both pumps in the Goulds book, they are the same. Yes he did try to explain to her what an estimate is. Yes everything we did is up to code.  Yes the trench is mounded so as when it settles they will not have a dip in there yard, our excavator is excellent ( please see pictures)  No this was not a bid, it was an estimate based on their information which was wrong.. Yes we have every right to change the cost on the estimate based on changes to the job.  No we did not change the price for the [redacted] the only change we made to the estimate was the voltage of pump to save us time.   No other company would have had the contacts with NYSEG to call in favors to find that well.( remember it was way to deep for our locator to read it)  No other company would have done all that extra work to save their patio without adding thousands  on to that estimate.  No other company would not have stopped and adjusted the estimate the minute the well was not where they indicated. Pump Doctors have been in business since 1983, we have owned it since 1995, we have an excellent reputation, we do good honest work for a fair price. We are Insured , we have 4 employees besides the owner, we are here 24 hrs a day 7 days a week, our service is second to none.  Attached is pictures we took- remember they were going back and forth between liking us and yelling at us, so I told my guys I wanted pictures to prove this layout.  Kathleen & Blake [redacted]  Owners Pump Doctors  [redacted]

Pump Doctors has been in business since 1983, we have owned the company for 21 years, this is the second complaint we have had to the Revdex.com, the 1st one was 20 years ago..and that was baseless also. We have over 7500 clients in this area. We see over 100 clients a Month, this June we dug up 7 systems, we put in over 250 submersible pumps/ 310 Pressure tanks and countless service calls this year alone. All we do is well water systems as our ad says this is our only business..We service clients 7 days a week 24 hrs a day..We are nothing but professional.  I'm not going thru a long description again, but I will answer some of the last comments- We could have certainly gone thru your patio, easier ,faster and exactly what our estimate said. We gave you a choice of tearing the patio up and maybe piping for the in-ground pool( does not show of on our dig safely NY ticket) or going around it. No, of coarse we would not put you patio back together we are not landscapers we are a well water service company- we get you back in water, which is exactly what we did.We got you back in water on Sunday May 29th, Memorial day weekend, the day you called us.( by tying into a neighbors water system)  The reference to an extension cord- Yes we told you if you wanted to run your softener on that day, you would have to temporarily run an extension cord. Our concern that day was getting you back in your own water and off the neighbor, who had been pretty patient up to now.The next day we would change that electric..  Rain - no you can not flood your basement by having water run into a hole on the otherside of your garage....   Our Excavator had a 6+ foot  hole ( not three foot) when he was thinking of giving up ( because the well is usually 3-4 feet down not 6 feet or as it turned out over 8 feet)  We dug a trench and put in a 1" pipe and wire, then we put your dirt back all of that will settle with rain/ water and snow by next spring throw some topsoil on it ( or not) and add grass seed..We haven't had rain so you haven't got to see that, but it will work ...If we level it off and take that dirt away or spread it through out your yard by spring you will have your own drainage ditch well it settles...  No one yelled at the Mrs [redacted], but she and her husband at various times yelled at everyone.  I REPEAT WE ARE NOT A LANDSCAPING COMPANY.What we suggested and you agreed to saved you thousands of dollars in redoing your pool patio, this did of course cost us lots of time.  We did have Mrs [redacted] sign the bill stating Customer is satisfied with finished work.  Yes I do see that it would be frustrating to think it is covered by insurance and then find out it is not , Just having a new baby adds more to the stress, but that is not our company's fault and I tried to warn Mrs [redacted] that insurance does not usually cover this.

Sunday morning May 29th. My husband was outside checking the pool and I was making coffee. When I turned on the water we had zero water pressure. I went to the bathroom and the pressure was the same there so I went outside to get my husband. We went to the utility room where the pump was housed. He told me to stay in the utility room. He went to check the breaker and it had tripped. He turned the breaker back on while I was still in the utility room and it looked like the 4th of July. Sparks were flying everywhere and I screamed at the top of my lungs as it scared me. This was our first time ever with a well issue as we have always had city water and the only place we knew to call was The Pump Doctors because we had seen trucks around our neighborhood. We called and Rich came to our home an hour later. He came downstairs, looked at the unit and saw the galvanized pipe and IMMEDIATELY suggested that we replace our entire system. He didn't even try to diagnose anything. We asked him how much it would cost and he said $4k to $4500. But most likely the low end of $4k. We asked how much it would cost to just replace what was there and he said $2500. He highly suggested we run new lines to the house because of the pipes coming through the basement floor were galvanized. He called fixing the pump "a band-aid" and did not recommend it. We at that point felt we had no choice but to follow his recommendations and replace the entire system. He did say that they would not be able to replace our system until Wednesday or Thursday. He said to get us through he could hook us up to our neighbors water if they were willing., Thankfully our neighbors allowed us to use their water. After a few calls going back and forth about when they could come they finally came Wednesday at 9:23 am.My husband arrived home from work at 9:35 a.m. They asked him where he thought the well was and he told him according to what the previous owner had told us. We were told it was "to the left of the pavers". As it turns out it was to the “left of the pavers” but not in the area that their metal detector indicated something. During that time I did look at our survey and called Chemung County to see if they had that information on file. It is only required for businesses to know where their wells are located. After discussing with the owners and workers they did not want to dig in the pavers. They thought that if they did that we would never be able to get them back the way there were. They wanted to go around them.  Around 10 am Randy started digging where their metal detector had detected metal. He got about a foot down and found an old fence post. He thought that was a marker for the well so he kept digging. After digging to the bottom of the pole it fell over he determined that was not where the well was. They then started looking all over and the metal detector was going off all over the yard. So Aaron asked my husband if they could just start digging everywhere they had a hot spot. My husband said no and at that point Aaron got on the phone with Blake the owner. He was told to find the well. They called NYSEG. The man that finds the lines for NYSEG was unable to find the well too. The guy lost signal ¾ of the way through our pavers and lost complete at the end of the pavers. Randy the excavator guy DID NOT want to tear up our pavers. So at that point he started digging at the end of the pavers. He dug about 4 foot down and said that it looked like we had “all fill” there. When our pool was put in they took the dirt and put it over the yard. At12:30 he said they were going to lunch. They had not yet found the well so they drilled holes around the old galvanized pipe in the floor in the basement because they were going to knock the floor out. They were going to use a snake down the old pipe so they could figure out where the well was and how far away from the house it was. They left for lunch at 12:30.1pm they returned and had started digging again. Randy said he was picking something up and it looked like someone had dug there before because the soil was soft he said. He dug down about 3 feet and was ready to give up. Our neighbor told him to take 2 more scoops and there it was about 7-8 feet down. They pulled the top off the well, pulled the lines out of the well. They pulled the foot valve out of the well. About 3:15pm they said they had to go. Aaron had to go to another job and Randy had a doctors appointment. They left an open 8 foot hole in our back yard. They only put up caution tape around the hole.Thursday morning 8:30 am they showed up. They extended our well to be above ground and up to code. During this time it was down pouring. Rich was in our garage drilling holes to the outside where Randy had dug the trench for the new water line. They never removed the gutter drain so all the water that was on the roof rushed into this hole and could have flooded our basement. Thankfully we have a drain in our garage. Thursday they got most of the work done and stayed until 7pm that night to get us water. After they hooked our water in my husband asked Rich why he was wiring it to our old electrical? We needed an outlet to plug our water softener into. Rich said we needed to run an extension chord from the other side of the room for our water softener. We said no because we knew that is a fire hazard. At that time we found out that they installed a 110 submersible pump instead of the 220 that we were promised. This was when we talked to the owner for the first time. We needed to know what was happening and why. We were quoted certain items for a certain amount of money and it wasn't happening. When we spoke with Blake he immediately got defensive and angry and started to yell. He rubbed it in our faces that it SHOULD have cost us $7k but they were doing us a favor by getting us water. He also was angry because this job was taking way too long. Here are a few thoughts on this. Whether we are paying $4500 or 7k we should still be getting the same workmanship. I feel that because the job took so long they were rushing to get out and the job was done poorly. In the meantime it was suggested to me to check with my insurance company to see if it may be covered. I was expecting nothing. When I called Travelers the gentleman was quick to say it was covered. He asked me if it was struck by lightning and I said I didn't know that my family and I were all sleeping. Things soon escalated when our yard was destroyed. I called our insurance company to see if they could cover more due to the digging. At that time he said they needed to send out an adjustor. We had already been assured that we were covered in full and the check was coming soon. She came to our home and immediately determined that it was old age and said it wasn't going to be covered. How would you feel if you were told you were covered 100% on a $4500 bill and then they change their mind and backed out. I had just had our son a few weeks before and this was a huge part of my frustration.Thursdays work was really sloppy. There were MANY things that needed to be done before we would even consider payment. After 2 days of work my husband needed to get back to work so I took the day off to be home. They came first thing in the morning, I had called Blake early that morning to discuss the pump. My husband and I really thought that the 220 pump should have been installed and I was going to ask them to put in the 220 pump they promised us. Blake never called he just showed up to the house to talk. Once I saw the trucks pull in I took my newborn son outside to discuss changes that needed fixed. When I told the guys I wanted that 220 pump installed because that was what was promised they all got very upset and rude with me. They started calling Blake and talking rudely right in front of me. They made me feel like I was asking them to do something they didn't promise, like it was my fault they installed the wrong pump. Blake showed up and I told him about the pump. He got extremely upset with me and told me I was being petty. He then proceeded to talk about how long this job was taking and how he should have charged me 7k.......I told him there were many issues that needed to be fixed before I would pay. He snapped and demanded payment right then. I said NO! I was not paying until the job was DONE! He told me there was no price difference between the 220 and 110. He said the 220 was more efficient. I asked him to show me in the catalog so I could see if there was a difference. There is no cost difference in the pump itself. However the wiring cost more and the 220 would have been WAY more efficient for us. But I suppose that is something they aren't worried about. I took Blake in the house to show him the issues that needed to be fixed. He was shocked at some of the things he saw and demanded that they fix it. Rich was fixing everything while Randy was fixing the mess in the yard. What we asked them to fix was:They left the holes in the floor open. We required that they fill them in because of Radon gas. We had to have a Radon system put in when we bought the house so we weren't chancing It.The way the lines were run to the pressure tank. They were really sloppy and it didn't make sense the way it was set up.We needed them to install a new outlet as our old one burned up. The lines in the garage look terrible. They zip tied the electrical line and water line together. They didn't even run the lines evenly. They didn't bother cutting the zip ties, so they are sticking out everywhere. Where they drilled the holes for the lines in the garage they didn't fill the holes around the lines so I had them fix that too. The placement of the lines was bad as well some of the cabinet doors are not able to open without hitting the line. We believe we are going to have a huge issue with our water freezing this winter. They did a poor job of cleaning up after themselves. As far as the excavation goes our yard is ruined. We have had someone look at it already and we were told its going to cost 600-800 to fix it. We cant even open the gate to our backyard all the way due to the mounds of dirt left.In conclusion we feel we were duped by the pump doctors. We were given a quote that yes they did stick with but the quality of work was not there. I would never treat a client the way that we were treated. We were yelled at, disrespected and insulted. I feel that they thought we were asking for too much and they paid us back with the quality of work they delivered. I appreciate that they thought they were helping us out but they weren't. We have a ton of work to fix the mess they left us. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
