The day wardrobe was to be built, only one installer showed up even though it was a 2-person job. The guy had a hard time installing everything by himself and took twice as much time. Finally, the installation was complete, I did see too many flaws and did not want to trouble this installer as he spent nearly 7.5 hours without a break. The Drawers were not aligned, wardrobe Door was off and other minor issues. We first tried to contact the salesperson to make this right, but she had all the excuses. We waited for a month for a response and then decided to call our credit card company for a chargeback. It has been 2 months and no response, the chargeback was done, suddenly we heard from one of the supervisors who offered to help us. A crew was sent to check on the wardrobe and few things were altered. I paid $3500 for this closet. It has been over 2 months (Dec.2019) and closet was not used by us. We were then visited by a Manager who promised to take care of the issue and give us a refund due to this issue. There was a date set in Late Dec for installers to show up. I received a call from the office asking me to pay the balance, the charge back amount ($1703.00) once the job was complete. I denied the arrangement, as I was under the impression that we would be getting a break on our payment. I Denied the service and stop all communication with them. Few days went by, my credit card was charged again for $1703 without my knowledge. This is unethical and illegal for them to charge without my knowledge. My job was never complete, but I was charged. I spoke to *** regarding this recharge and their explanation was that they received my signed contract from the company. There are contracts for this kind of jobs, but it is not executed until the job is complete.
At Closets by Design, customer satisfaction is always our
number one priority. This client’s Wardrobe Unit was first installed on
10/30/2019 and we were made aware of an issue on 11/11/2019.
Unfortunately, he was unwilling to speak with our service department so we
could get an understanding of what the issue was. The client also
disputed the charge mentioned with ***. As with any credit card dispute,
we provided the information requested by *** and described our efforts to resolve
the issue. After many attempts and phone calls we were finally able to
send the installation manager to the client’s home on 12/19/19 to assess the
situation and discuss a solution. We felt it best to replace one part,
the client agreed and we scheduled another visit to have the part
installed. Unfortunately, the day before the service, the client
cancelled his appointment and indicated that he would not allow the service to
be done. We did not re-charge the client’s card as he alleges, that was done by
*** as part of its final determination. We would welcome the opportunity
to make the agreed upon repair so this client can fully enjoy his unit!
If you're looking for "first class" service please look elsewhere!!! The lack of customer service skill will definately deter business....
As the consumer, I have the right to question pricing or sketches. It's "your responsibilty" to be patient and give a detailed explanation of the process..
Recommendation: please provide customer service training to "senior sales rep" regardless the amount of time you've been "employed" you're obviously lacking that skill.
