Review: One of the four handles they installed in our closet is the wrong finish and does not match. We asked them repeatedly to mail us as correct handle which they refuse to do. They say they want an installer to come to the house to replace it but each time they say they are going to come out they never do. They've done this three times so far. I have called them at least a dozen times and now I feel like they are not interested in resolving this at all and are just playing games with us. The people in the office are disrespectful and told me not to "sweat the small stuff". I know it is as small matter but at this point it"s the principle. I don't want anyone else to have to go through the aggravation of dealing with these people. This was such a simple thing for them to correct.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to mail me the proper handle.

I paid the remaining balance as agreed (over $1100); the installers left. I noticed as I was putting items on the shelves that one door wobbled at the top when I closed it. When I added a few items on the shelves, that cabinet door seemed to be disconnected from the top track and would not close. I sent an email to [redacted] (office manager) that evening. The next day I called at 11:15 AM, March 19 and left a voice message asking that the installer return to fix the door. I waited until 4 PM and left a second voice message for the manager, [redacted], and asked someone to follow up. The next day, March 20, I sent another email at 11 AM, repeating my request for service. As of Monday, March 24, there has been NO RESPONSE. The company gave me their warranty stating" "Closets by Design hereby warranties all furnished materials and workmanship with normal household use for the life of the product. This includes all necessary repairs and replacements at no charge." that is their promise, but they have failed to respond or honor that promise.Desired Settlement: I simply want the company to send the installer to fix the door! I just want this expensive cabinet to function properly. I'm not asking for any special treatment. I paid every dollar required for this unit - I've paid 100% - and they need to honor their warranty and fix their work.Thank you for your assistance in resolving this issue.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] The repair required two visits from the serviceman since he failed to bring repair equipment the first time. The company failed to apologize or take any responsibility for their poor performance and lack of communication. No correction was made to the misaligned panels, however the unit is functioning properly now.

Review: I had to contact your rep Karen R[redacted] numerous times back in August to try to get a insulation date. When she came to my home she said someone would contact me from the office with an install date. Never received any call from the office. After about the 3rd. or 4th. call to Karen R[redacted] she said 8 weeks from the date on the contract which was Aug. 3rd. but also went on to say that I would have to call the number on the contract to get a specific date. She also went on to tell me her personal business that she was getting divorced and she was busy cleaning out her home.Totally inappropriate. Just another example of the level of professionalism with the company.

I called the number on the contract and spoke with the owner Mary C[redacted] (which I didn’t find out her name until Oct. 27, 2015 when I looked up the business on the Revdex.com website) and she said to me late Sept. or Oct. 3 at the latest for your install.

So let’s fast forward to the evening of Oct. 26, 2015 I receive a call from Mary C[redacted] and when I answered the phone she starts out by saying are you ready for your install? She also lied and said I contacted them to delay the install. They obviously dropped the ball and is trying to cover her tracks. After I told I would like to be refunded because it was almost 12 weeks not 8 weeks she said she would get back to me. I called the following evening and I asked her what her name was she was hesitate in answering and would only give her first name, very strange for a business person. She went on to say she would contact the authorities because I was requesting my money back. For an owner of a company to say something like that to a paying customer is appalling and extremely odd.

I would never want this company installing anything in my home ever and I am canceling the install. I do not fell comfortable doing business with someone who acts in this kind of manner.

I would like to receive my $368.00 dollars back.

I have been attempting for a month now to get a refund of $721 on a closet install cancellation and the owner, [redacted] refuses to call me back to rectify this. I spoke with a customer service rep by the name of [redacted] twice and she told me that [redacted] is the only one that can assist with this in the company. You are lucky to get a live person on the phone and they are incredibly unresponsive. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional company in my life and will warn everyone I know not to do business with them....a complete disgrace. This company has received numerous complaints through the Revdex.com with a D- rating and they refuse to address them.

Review: Contracted with Closets By Design for installation of bedroom closet. Upon installation, it was brought to our attention by installers that there were some "connector" pieces that were not present - because we were never given the choice of having them - but we wanted them as they made the finished product look better. Called customer service and they consistently tried to blame us, rather than just trying to work with us to rectify the situation. Promises to call us back with pricing and info never happened. I called the corporate office to see if they could help. They said if we could provide info as to what we wanted, they would try to contact another location to see if we could get the materials to close the matter. Never received info back from them either. Basically, the company will not return our phone call to get us info on completing this job to our satisfaction. They have been rude, called us "thieves" because their installer was nice enough to take some scrap material out of their truck to try to complete the job and then insinuated to us that because these nice gentlemen did that, they could lose their job because of us. All we wanted was the price for installing an additional shelf to complete the job and they will not cooperate.Desired Settlement: All we want is info on what it will cost to have them install the shelf, or at the very least, to supply us with the tools to do it on our own. Basically, we want to warn others who may be desiring their services, to be aware of how unprofessional they are in dealing with their customers. I wish I had read the few reviews posted so that I had an idea of what I would be dealing with. They got paid in full and we had no problem with that until they basically "ran with our money". This is not a customer friendly company and probably the worst company I have had to deal with on any level. At this point, I'm fearful that even if they did supply us with a price, that it wouldn't be a fair one.
