booked this property days prior to scheduled arrivalOur cancellation policy
is clear and was explained to her at the time of booking over the phone, and in
the contract she signed in order to confirm the booking (attached for your
reference)
In addition, she was encouraged to, but declined the travel insurance
We had many travelers (over 30), from further away than she was traveling,
drive to Crystal Beach without incident on Monday, June between noon and
5pm, and check in to the homes they bookedIt was not a hurricane (as she
stated) and was not even a tropical storm when she called to try to cancel
(Monday Morning, June 15)Once we explained to her there would be no refunds,
she said she would arrive on Tuesday or WednesdayInstead, she chose not to
honor her booking and disputed the charge with her credit card. She also filed this complaint on Wednesday, June 17th, a day she said she may be arriving on. We did try to work with her move her
dates to a different week later in the season, which is something we were doing
as a courtesy, but she failed to respondBad weather is unfortunate but our
policies are clearWe have an obligation to and contract with the owner of
this home to collect the rent for the dates that are bookedIf it were a cruise
or any other vacation package she would not be able to get a refund eitherIt
is unfair to assume because we are a small, family owned business that our
