Cloud Retaining Walls and Hardscapes, LLC Reviews (4)

We had a contract with Cloud Walls to build our retaining wall in the spring Jeff from Cloud Walls started out being a decent person to work with, but was ultimately one of the rudest contactors we have ever worked withHis project ran long due to weather (which he couldn't help) but also due to the fact that he added jobs during the same time and did not communicate clearly with us regarding the delay to our project; he just made the deals and expected us to deal with itWe asked if we received a discount, and while ultimately he gave us a very small one, it wasn't nearly what it should have been for a project that was supposed to a week job but ran monthsIn addition, our backyard was demolished, and was used as the staging zone for all yards he was working in without our permission, therefore ruining the entire back yard and side yardOur back yard is now incredibly compacted and we can't get grass to grow; it's been almost a yearHis team left trash in our yard almost every day, broke our sprinkler system, our neighbor's fence, and didn't glue down all of the caps on the wall, which we ended up doing ourselves later because we knew he wouldn't come back to do itJeff was less than kind in managing these situations as they occurredHe left my husband a threatening voicemail when we told him we needed to come to an understanding about the final bill due to some of these issues and wrote rude emailsOur neighbor, who he also did business with, was also dissatisfied with his interactionsWe wanted to write this review because we wanted to be able to warn other potential customersIf all goes well, Jeff might be a decent person to work withBut if it doesn't

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/10/04) */
in regards to said customer complaint
we did rebuild said wall that had already collapsed twice before we rebuilt it due to a storm drain at drive and street that is flowing to the area behind but more importantly the front of the wall where
it is saturating the ground in front of the wall and causing the base to fail
this failure is due to the improper placement, clogging then blowing open flooding the area but mostly due to the extreme wet spring and early summer with record hourly rain amounts and total monthly amounts in short the storm drain as is makes replacing the wall traditionally not possible I emailed this customer after receiving his call with basically this response that the storm drain in its current position and with the current drain field dumping to the area between the wall and home that this caused the wall to fail not the craftsmanship and any verbal guarantee excluded us if the drainage issue that caused both prior collapses reoccurred I am very reluctant to do any further work there fearing the continuation of issues causing loss of revenue
again I regret the homeowners predicament but until they solve the core issue they will continue to have major issues

We had a contract with Cloud Walls to build our retaining wall in the spring 2015. Jeff from Cloud Walls started out being a decent person to work with, but was ultimately one of the rudest contactors we have ever worked with. His project ran long due to weather (which he couldn't help) but also due to the fact that he added jobs during the same time and did not communicate clearly with us regarding the delay to our project; he just made the deals and expected us to deal with it. We asked if we received a discount, and while ultimately he gave us a very small one, it wasn't nearly what it should have been for a project that was supposed to a 2 week job but ran 2 months. In addition, our backyard was demolished, and was used as the staging zone for all yards he was working in without our permission, therefore ruining the entire back yard and side yard. Our back yard is now incredibly compacted and we can't get grass to grow; it's been almost a year. His team left trash in our yard almost every day, broke our sprinkler system, our neighbor's fence, and didn't glue down all of the caps on the wall, which we ended up doing ourselves later because we knew he wouldn't come back to do it. Jeff was less than kind in managing these situations as they occurred. He left my husband a threatening voicemail when we told him we needed to come to an understanding about the final bill due to some of these issues and wrote rude emails. Our neighbor, who he also did business with, was also dissatisfied with his interactions. We wanted to write this review because we wanted to be able to warn other potential customers. If all goes well, Jeff might be a decent person to work with. But if it doesn't...
