I have allergies to a lot of common ingredients used in most cuisine. I had been to clover before and knew that I couldn’t eat most of their side salads. Their platters come with 3 side salads. A standard chickpea fritter platter comes with 5 falafels/chickpea fritters, hummus, and 3 side salads. I asked if I could order that platter with extra hummus and falafel in place of the salads since I am allergic to them. They are all priced the same on their side menu. I ordered two of these platters. If they were unable to do this for me I said I would just order sides of hummus and falafel but they said they could do it in the platter. I got home with my platters and what I got was the same amount of hummus and falafel as if I got the 3 side salads, and then making up more than half of the platter was a bunch of cucumber tomato salad. I feel ripped off and like I didn’t get what I asked for and what I paid for. Since they are paperless and give no receipts I somehow paid $30 for two $10 platters and a side of hummus. I feel like I was taken advantage of because of my food allergies and wasn’t taken seriously and was promised something I did not get. I feel I may have also been overcharged because I can’t work out how one side of hummus and two $10 platters comes out to $30 but I can’t look at a receipt to try and figure that out. They have no phone number to contact their company, give no receipts, and it’s been a week and I have received no response from their email. I’m frustrated and upset by my experience and I would like a refund on at least one of the platters because that’s a lot of money to spend on half of what I asked for and half of what I was promised.
To Whom It May Concern, My name is *** and I work with the Corporate Communications team at Clover Food Lab and at Clover Burlington as our Store Communication Lead so I personally handled this issue at hand and worked with my General Manager to get this complaint resolved prior to being made aware of this complaint being filed.The complaint was filed on March 20th, shortly after her leaving a *** review that I responded to with my email address so we could address her concerns directly. When she got around to email me it turned out the issue at hand was simply one of miscommunication in terms of what side salads she would be receiving and then her not enjoying the tomato cucumber salad she had got due to her dietary restrictions. When she declined a replacement meal we offered her a refund, as long as she could come back into our location, as she had paid cash. She then was able to come in on March 27th and we successfully issued her a refund as she has requested in this complaint, along with a replacement meal that satisfied her dietary restrictions. I am happy to provide any further documentation of our correspondence as well as answer any questions you may have either via email or by phone. I look forward to being able to resolve this complaint, our apologies for any delay in response. Many Thanks
