Clover Leaf Tree Service and Lawn Care

Cloverleaf had already been paid to take down 1 tree with no problems. [redacted] needed a car and offered the agreement to trade a car we had for sale for taking down 3 other trees. He drew up a contract stating car trade and exactly which trees he would take down. He took down the 1st tree with only minor damage. Started the 2nd tree but stopped coming. Have been texting him from 5/22 - 10/31/15. Have saved all text messages. Always an excuse why can't come or says will come but never showed up. Refused to schedule us during normal work hours, said would only do during free time. Says we have no agreed time frame but I believe we have been more than patient. No job should take this long. The 2nd tree in now dangerous since only has top branches and we will have to pay someone else to take it down. I have since learned some things about [redacted] and Cloverleaf that I would want proof are not true before letting him finish the work.Product_Or_Service: tree removalDesired SettlementThe approximate value of the car was $1200. Since he has only taken down 1 tree, left the 2nd tree in dangerous condition and not done anything with the 3rd tree we would like a partial refund. We believe $800 would be fair.Business Response This complaint that I did not finish the job is untrue and this person is attempting to get get the job finished without her nephew having to pay. The consumer's nephew was included in this "job" from the beginning and arranged this while thing. Due to disagreement with nephew who bought a dining room set from me and never paid for it, he stated that the work would be performed by him on his aunt's property to settle his debt to me. Furthermore, any client that states they want rumors dispelled or disproved before they will allow someone to finish a job is downright ridiculous. This is an attempt to shame me into finishing work that her family was supposed to do and never did. Consumer Response The agreement [redacted] had with my nephew had to do with cleaning up the yard nothing to do with cutting down the trees. He bought our car in exchange for cutting down the trees. That was our agreement, cutting down trees in exchange for the car. Just because he says my nephew didn't clean up the yard has nothing to do with me. He is taking out his problems with my nephew on us. He should contact my nephew for solving their problem not making me pay for them. We have only been asking him to hold up his end of the bargain to cut down the trees, not clean up the yard.Final Business Response We held up our end. The unfinished work is her nephew's job. And if we didn't finish our end and had to go back, why on earth would we have to dispell rumors to the customer's satisfaction to do so? Customers shouldn't try to get something for nothing.
