Clovis Ave. Brake Lube & Tire Reviews (2)

We are in receipt of the complaint filed bu [redacted] and have the following response.[redacted] came to our facility in July 2017 stating he had squeaking noise coming from the rear of the vehicle when braking. Below is our response to his complaint. It is our position that no refund is...

warranted.1. [redacted] failed to disclose that he attempted to repair his own vehicle prior to bringing it to our facility. Only telling us at a later date that he replaced the left rear brakes (his chief complaint) and then again did not disclose until a later date that he only replaces the left rear side and not the right. We assumed he had replaced the right side at the same time as the left and only the left side were installed improperly by [redacted].2. [redacted] failed to tell you his truck had almost 400,000 miles and the mileage that was stated on the instrument cluster was not the true The instrument cluster at some point was replaced - by whom we do not know, it could have been by [redacted] - but the Odometer and actual miles are different. [redacted]'s vehicle comes with several different options. So, if [redacted] purchased an instrument cluster from a junkyard or online, and didn't tell them his vehicle Came with the Option of ABS, and installed this cluster, it would not have had a light bulb - which [redacted]'s ABS light bulb was missing.3. We had five different Master Technicians address [redacted]'s repeated complaints about his vehicle's braking squeaking and vibrations, replacing the entire brake system, each Technician road testing the vehicle for long extended periods of time, never able to replicate this complaints.4. The majority of work was done at no charge due to [redacted]'s financial situation, the age of the vehicle, and wanting to make the customer happy. For example, we installed an ABS control module & proportioning valve for the sum of $472.47 which customer only paid $118.12 towards bill leaving a balance that was never paid in the amount of $354.35. After discussions with the Service Adviser, asked why the amount paid was an odd amount. They stated that was what he could afford to pay towards the repair at that time. At the end of this relationship, there was no making [redacted] happy, no amount of work we did was going to make it right with him, and no amount of road testing was ever going to duplicate what [redacted] Was presenting.5. [redacted] came to our facility towards the end of our relationship, telling the Master Technician the rear is getting hot. Using his hand telling the Technician to feel the heat difference. [redacted] put the vehicle in neutral and began pushing it back & forth (wouldn't be able to do that if brakes were stuck). Our Technician got a thermal gun and measured the heat in the left and right. There was NO difference in temperature. The Technician offered to give [redacted] the thermal gun to take home and measure freely, but [redacted] stated no it's fine and left.As shown on the attached invoices, Convenience operates ethically and with integrity to serve the public with good business practices. We have been in business for over 25 years. We are sorry that we [redacted] feels he was not treated properly. We respectfully disagree.

After reading the company response, I am fully convinced of my actions against them is merited.
1: I am an accredited engineer with an electro-mechanical background spanning 35 years and I take insult with the way this person targets their customers assumed incompetency's to cover their own. By stating I installed my own brakes improperly is a bold faced lie. The original issue was an aged parking brake cable causing the original symptom (squeak). The next lie is that my vehicle had almost 400k miles, and that the instrument cluster was replaced by me. The truth is that my vehicle admittedly had approximately 300k on it, and any assumption that the instrument cluster was replaced is purely speculation and was never addressed. The Instrument cluster is the same one that has been in the vehicle ever since I've owned it.
2: I monitor my mileage to a fault. Each rework whereas the vehicle was returned to the shop resulted in a limited number of miles for "testing" (less than 20 to be exact).
3: Timmy is also insulting me by saying that "he graciously performed all this work dues to my FINANCIAL SITUATION???!!! <- That is a total load of succotash, and the following statements in response further convince me that this owner is willing to say anything to appear in the right. I am completely offended. I have delivered my vehicle to my original shop who have all the records from the past 10 years, to have them do a full inspection and analysis of the recent work performed and will upload that data upon receipt into the form for this complaint.
