I was charged $40 per day storage fees for 1/2/16 and 1/3/16. The business was closed on these days. When I asked why I was told by [redacted] thats the way it is. I felt I have been overcharged and treated badly. I do not recommend this business to SJAFB usage.Product_Or_Service: road serviceDesired SettlementRefund of $80 in storage fees because they were closed for business.Business Response Goldsboro Police called our tow company on 1/2/2016 at 6:52am to pick up an abandoned vehicle that was left in a ditch. We picked it up as instructed and stored it at our facility.Per our agreement with the Goldsboro Police Dept we charge storage at $40.00 per calendar day until the vehicle is picked up. We were contacted by Ms [redacted], who is not the vehicle owner by the way, on 1/4/2016 for the first time. After verification with the owner in Virginia we released the vehicle to Ms [redacted] and her daughter on the same day. She paid $120 in storage charges which is exactly correct. Had she attempted to call our company before she did on the morning of 1/4/16 she would have been given a 24 hour number to call to discuss picking up her vehicle. Because she was not the vehicle owner she would not have been allowed to pick the vehicle up until verification with owner on the morning of 1/4/2016 anyway. It is pointless to continue, however I called and visited the facility on 1/2/16 and that is how I found out the business was closed. Ownership is not the issue. Its price gouging because the company can.
