to complete. In a typical install of this project size, our qoute is for 7 total trips. This was the qoute for the electrical install. Our crew had 12 trips, due to project management on the customer, over a 9 month period. Our qoute did not include trenching the wiring from the transfer switch to the house. This was however completed by our crew, at no cost to the customer. In generator installs it is not required for our crew to install a buried conduit from the transfer switch to the generator. It was not asked of our crew to bury the conduit until after the work was completed, which was witnessed by the customer, and clean up was occuring.
OFFER:
Belgain Electric does not want to see unhappy customers at the end of a project. We would be happy to come out and bury the conduit, however all new material will need to be purchased, along with our install fee. This will be expected for the customer to pay at the time of service.

We do not accept their response. Belgian Electric was contracted by Old Dutch Homes and should have been informed of the extent of the project and should have forwarded any concerns to Old Dutch Homes.
The number of trips could have been fewer if more time was spent on the job. At times, Belgian arrived at 10:00AM and left before 3:00PM. The last day on the job they said they would be there first thing in the morning. They arrived at 11:45AM and left at 2:30PM. Also, at times, including the last day, they would call to reschedule a promised work day, often stating they had to work at or finish another project, causing further delay on our project.
Belgian was fully aware of the buried cable issue as we had discussed this during the initial service install and they had to redo and bury the cable.
The cost of the wiring of the generator was discussed, and I was told, included in some of the charges above the initial estimates given to Old Dutch Homes. As shown in the included pictures, this connection is unsafe and most likely need repair or replacement within a few years due to its free swinging nature, wind and exposure to the weather, and possibility of being tripped over and other contact by people possibly causing injury.
