Club Med does not care about the well being of their guests. We have a trip planned to Turks and Caicos for 9/30/17. Hurricane Matthew is currently headed that direction and expected to hit Turks by Tuesday 10/4/17. They won't offer us a monetary refund/credit or assistance in postponing or canceling our trip even though a hurricane is headed that way. They have assured us though their property is built to withstand a hurricane, as if that were supposed to make us feel better.
Club Med pushes you to have their reservations team book everything for you including Airline tickets, accommodation, transportation, etc. so they can offer you a "better deal". They also urge you to buy their "Total Piece Of Mind Insurance Plan". Low and behold we can't get any of our airline fees back, changed, or credited because Club Med booked the tickets and won't be our advocate. The insurance we paid for only covers our "land" expenses and not airfare.
Club Med offers a complimentary Hurricane Protection Program to all guests if and ONLY if you are on a property when this happens. Knowing there will be a hurricane, we were told we could only receive that "protection" is if we knowingly went to the island where we know there will be a hurricane.
