Review: I went to Club Metro in Marlton in July 2014 to cancel my membership in person. I was told the cancelation would take 30 days and that I would be billed in August and my membership would be effective until September 5th. On September 7th I noticed a charge on my bank statement from Club Metro. I called and spoke to one if their employees(not disclosing name). The employee told me he saw my cancelation form and he would leave it for their finance person to look at and credit my account. On September 14th, I called again. The money had not been returned. I was told to call back on the 17th. Which I did. I spoke to another employee, she stated she would look into the matter and call me back, which she did not. I called again on the 18th and spoke to another employee, and was told she would also look into and call me back that day. She did not call. I called again today, the 19th and spoke to the same girl. She said she didn't call back because she couldn't find my cancelation paper work. I asked to speak to the owner and was told he wasn't there. I let them know I would like a call back within the hour to dispute this matter. No phone call back from them.Desired Settlement: I would like them to credit back my account for the amount they charged me.

Review: I went into this gym the end of May 2015 to cancel my membership. I was told I have 6 months left in my contract and at roughly $43 dollars per month I could either pay that monthly, or pay a $150 early cancellation fee. They told me to think about it and come back, as long as I came back and canceled before the 10th, I wouldn't be charged for June. I went back the 6th with the intent of cancelling and paying my $150 fee. I was told there was no one there to help me cancel. I came back again on the 8th, spoke with [redacted] whom I told I wanted to pay the fee on a different credit card, and he said someone would call me the 9th to get that information. I reminded him that I wanted to make sure it went through for the 10th so that I was not charged for June. He said he would put a note on my account and make sure I was not charged. I filled out a cancellation form. No one called me on the 9th, and on the 10th my card was charged $42.79. I spoke with multiple people on the 10th in order to reconcile the situation, and they told me that I was stuck paying the $42.79 for June, and I would be charges $160.50 in order to cancel, but if I stayed until my contract was up (4 months), it wouldn't be much more. Not only was I originally lead to believe I had 2 more months left in contract than I did, but I was lied to multiple times about not being charged for June. when I mentioned this to the employees, they dismissed me and told me that I would not be refunded for June and still had to pay the cancellation fee in order to get out of the membership. I paid the fee to cancel to avoid them charging me again for July. I would not have paid $100 to join a new gym if I had known I only had 4 months left and that I would be charged over $200 just to get out of those 4 months.Desired Settlement: If the company refuses refund me for June, I am ok with that even though I know I can't afford the negligence they put me through. I would just like these employees to either be better informed and stop making assumptions before they do this to more members. or if they really did know that there was a 30 day billing cycle and I had to cancel a whole month before they told me, I just want them to know that multiple employees lying to their members is not good customer service. Not only have they left a bad taste in my mouth, but I'm hurt that I was taken like this and I would never recommend them to anyone.
