Had a renter move into my placeThey transferred all information to there information I had my monthly bill taken out automatically for + months but apparently the last bill can't be taken out My bill was never forwarded to me, so I did not know I had an outstanding bill until a collections agency contacted meSo instead of taking more minutes to find someone or call someone, they'd rather ruin someones credit and now will be on my creditTHANKS! Cannot be reached I've called different times, on different days Always the same recorded message "we are experiencing unusually high call volume, and hold times may be longer than normalblah blah" Well I've waited over an hour twice, and over hours the last time, no exaggeration, and never had anyone pick up ***? I bought a new house and need to transfer my account to the new address, but apparently that won't be happening since they have nobody to answer the phones

I was convinced by a customer service employee to sign up for budget billingThey told me that my bill would be a certain amount each monthThey made it sound like no matter how much I used or didn't use I would pay that amountWhen I closed out of budget billing I was charged an extra amount because I had used over the amount I was paying each monthThere was no mention of this when I first signed upLuckily I was only on budget billing for months and the extra wasn't an amount I couldn't afford to pay, but it would have been nice to know when I signed upFor people who have been on budget billing for long periods of time you may want to check and see how much you might owe

Terrible, disorganized company. I'm set up with autopay and twice in two years have gotten disconnection notices in the mail for payments that were made. I'm told "those are automatic". Well, your automatic system sends them out wrong, wasting an hour of time on hold for something that shouldn't be an issue. Maybe it's time a person actually checks the accounts before a letter goes out.

Today I came home to my gas shut off with no notice due to a "meter swap". Some notice would be nice, especially since I've now been on hold over an hour and half waiting for a Customer Service Rep, no resolution in sight.

If you have any choice in energy provider (you don't, which is why their service is terrible), chose someone else!

Alliant Energy has hit my underground wire that has been marked to my garage twice. Once for bringing underground to my house and the other when my neighbor had built there house and needed a power pole put in. Both times they said if it was there fault they would fix it. However when I proved to them it was there fault they still would not pay for the repairs costing thousands of dollars and time.
