Club16 Trevor Linden Fitness (Langley Bypass)

In December 2019, Club 16 sent me via mail two coupons to give to my friends for a 12-day free pass to use their facilities. They offered a reward if my friends signed up for a Club 16 membership, I believe it was one month of a free gym membership for me if per friend who signed up. Bottom line - Club 16 permitted both of my friends to use the 12-day passes, both friends signed up for a gym membership, but Club 16 refused to honour the reward portion of the promotional offer, citing that the passes "weren't applicable at the Langley location", and did not give me two months of a free membership.
In January, one of my friends used the 12-day pass and signed up for a membership. Her name is Darlene M. I didn't receive any notification about my one month of free membership, so I spoke to a manager, a male, not sure of his name. He advised that the promotion wasn't valid at the Langley location, and that the offer had "stated that on the back of the card". He advised that this was because the Langley location was new, and it wasn't fair to their existing customers to allow unpaid members to use the facilities when it was so busy. I asked if the offer wasn't valid, why was my friend permitted to use the 12-day pass? He gave me a vague response. I stated that since my friend's pass was honoured, despite the promo apparently not being valid at Langley, Club 16 made it valid by permitting her to use the 12-day pass, and Club 16 should therefore honour the offer of a month free membership. It's either valid or it's not; it can't be partially valid only to the benefit of Club 16. The manager declined to be reasonable, and I was left unsatisfied.
