CMB Kicks Reviews (1)

Review: I took a collectible item (sneakers) to the location for a consignment sale. The terms were 85% for me and 15% for the store. The value of the sneakers is $5500.00 that's what the sale cost was. After several months of not being sold I decided to keep an eye out for potential buyers. In which I found someone to buy the sneakers. I went to pick them up on 4/22/15 - and in return I got a REPLICA PAIR OF THE SNEAKERS BACK.Desired Settlement: I want the same pair I left at the location along with all items (receipt, box) back or to be reimbursed $3300.00 that I had the sneakers sold for. In reality I just want the item back

Response:

The customer dropped off a pair of Nike "Yeezy" 2 SP for consignment on September 23, 2014. We shrinker wrapped the sneakers and put one sneaker in our glass showcase for display. The case holds about 30 of our most expensive and exclusive sneakers in the store. The customer wanted the sneakers to be sold for $5,500, which is on the high end of what the "Yeezy"has sold for in the past, During the course of the sneakers being here, the customer called several times and was informed that the current market value, for the "Yeezy" was around $3,500 on E-bay as well as at sneaker expos/shows/conventions that we have attended as of late. The customer asked to mark the price of the sneakers down to $5,000. On April 22, 2015 the customer came in to pick up his sneakers because they had not sold. He examined the sneakers and then signed for them (which we have receipt of). He then left the store and returned within 15 minutes, saying that his sneakers had been worn. He insisted that one of our employees has the same shoe size and may have tried them on or even worn them. After leaving, he called the store a hour or so later saying that he believed the sneakers had been switched/exchanged for a replica pair. Our consignment policy is as follows: 85/15% split. 85% going to customer 15% to our company for selling the merchandise. The sneakers are dropped off and price is established between customer and store. We generally go off of what the market value of the sneakers are going for at the time. The sneaker is then shrink wrapped and placed on display, if they are not already in stock and displayed. The sneaker box is also labeled with the customers information, so that when sold, we will know the difference between a consignment item and our regular inventory. Once the sneaker is sold, the customer is notified that their item has been sold and that they can pick up a business check at their convenience. If the item is not sold, the customer can pick up their sneakers at any given time. If they choose to pick up their sneakers and take them off consignment, they must examine and sign for them at the time of pickup. Also, we do not allow potential customers to try on any sneakers that are on consignment or priced at more than $1,000. We also are very cautious on how we handle all of our inventory both consigned and store inventory because of the rarity and value. This is why all sneakers that are put out on display are shrink wrapped. This is to ensure that as customers come in and look/touch it does not affect the sneakers. We have been in business for almost 3 years. We have never had a issue regarding consignment sneakers or anything of the sort. We did not exchange the sneakers nor did we allow anyone else to. Nor did we allow anyone to wear or try them on. The customer was given the exact same pair of sneakers in the same exact box that he brought them in. Again he signed for them, which we have receipt of. Thank you for your time and patience in response. Any further questions feel free to contact me via ###-###-#### (store) or ###-###-#### (cell).
