The area where you can see daylight existed before we started our work and was not affected by what we did, nor was it supposed toIn response to the Sell's complaint, I have talked to them and explained that the work contracted we did Natural occurrences such as: cracks in concrete at the expansion joints and the new cement block not matching the old block were explained to the consumer When we raised the porch with a beam, some cement block were cracked and therefore had to be replaced There is no way new block will match block that has been there for several years I suggested they could paint them all so they would match Also expansion joints are placed so if the concrete is going to crack at some point, which it will, it will crack at the expansion joints. All work is completed as contracted and acknowledged by the consumer

Consumer called Revdex.com stating the business has not contacted her

Work as contracted is complete The additional items were explained to be at additional cost and are above and beyond the contractWe were contacted to replace the beam in the basementThat work is completedRegarding the appearance of foundation, it was explained that the new block,
inserted to make sure the foundation was safe and strong, would look different because of the aging appearance of the older block that remained The cracks in the sidewalk were explained and perfectly normal Any additional work outside the contract will be at the owner's expense

Revdex.com called business spoke with Chad C***He stated the carpet has been installed and he is working on the hardwood

The area where you can see daylight existed before we started our work and was not affected by what we did, nor was it supposed to.. In response to the Sell's complaint, I have talked to them and explained that the work contracted we did.  Natural occurrences such as: cracks in concrete at the expansion joints and the new cement block not matching the old block were explained to the consumer.  When we raised the porch with a beam, some cement block were cracked and therefore had to be replaced.  There is no way new block will match block that has been there for several years.  I suggested they could paint them all so they would match.  Also expansion joints are placed so if the concrete is going to crack at some point, which it will, it will crack at the expansion joints. All work is completed as contracted and acknowledged by the consumer.

[redacted] and I are senior citizens. We’ve been in the process of planning our retirement. We have lived in our Orient home for 42 years. We decided [redacted] would work longer than we really wanted and we would have the money to pay for home repairs and improvements. That way we could retire with peace of mind. We met with Chad C[redacted] the owner of CMC Construction and [redacted].  (I’m not sure of [redacted]’s job title.) The most urgent problems were more support under the house and we have water in our crawl space. They looked over these two things. Chad said he thought the cement porch had dropped down toward the house and was causing water to go in the crawl space. We contracted CMC to do these two repairs (see enclosed invoice). As CMC came and worked there were other issues but they were always resolved by [redacted] who has since left CMC.After many calls to Chad we asked him to come and see how his workers had left our home.Chad and his son (his son works at CMC) met with us. They agreed it looks bad. Chad was embarrassed and said we had a right not to be satisfied with the workmanship. Chad apologized and thanked us for being gracious (his word) about it. He explained to us what he would do to fix his companies work, free of charge.  There was no mention of additional cost to us.Also we pointed out that the porch slab was already cracked when they took the wood supports off. Chad said cement work cant be guaranteed. Although there is a five year guarantee on his workmanship and materials on our invoice from CMC.No date was set for CMC to come back because most of the repairs promised were outside and the weather was an issue. We read Chads response. He didn’t even acknowledge our last meeting and his agreement to come back and make said repairs. He answered that it is a sure foundation. Next to where CMC pounded the new beams in the crawl space there are cracks large enough to see daylight through. (see photograph # 1 & 2). I’m sure water is coming in also.CMC didn’t cure the face of the front porch correctly, leaving the front and side a dark gray color. All other cement is a bright white color. Their answer was to cover it with an even darker gray product (see photograph #3). Also CMC put holes in the block and patched it with darker gray product. I questioned the worker when he started putting it on and he assured me it would dry whitish.Since Chad won’t fulfill his promises to us at our last meeting we aren’t trusting he has answered our previous concerns correctly;Photograhs #7  - Cracks in porch slab and sidewalk#7 Porch post set directly on cement (Previously post were spaced  above cement) #8 Sidewalk is tilted at driveway end.#4 Bare rock and thinner cement at driveway #5 end of the sidewalk#3 Porch front dried dark gray and they applied a product that dried an even darker gray.#6 Cracks in foundation in several places. This is only one of them.We want to know our foundation is “sure”. Meaning no cracks. We expected to walk up to our front door and enjoy an attractive setting. Its not. We know Chad has had family to take care of, health problems and evidently company changes.  His change in character from how good we were treated until now and his answer to us through you causes us not to trust what he “says” he will do. We are disappointed and at a loss to understand the change. If he will agree to a written contract with details of how repairs will be made and include start and finish dates we would allow him to come back. If not we will get another contractor and CMC pay for it.Thank you for all your help,
