This complaint is completely unfounded and a direct attempt to sabotage my business in any way possibleI initially painted the [redacted] residence in June I gave them an initial estimate which did not include the painting of the front door, which they readily accepted because we were friendsAs I am painting the house I am informed that they would like their front door painted, which as any friend would do, I said I would paint it for them but no chargeThat’s right freeI completed the house and door and they said they were happy with the paint jobAbout a week later Mr [redacted] brought to my attention that they were not happy with the finish on the doorTo which I immediately responded and said I would come and try to address his issue, again no charge, just helping a friendI resprayed the door and Mr [redacted] approved of it About a month after this, Mr [redacted] contacted me to say they are still not happy with the free paint job on the door I went back and sprayed it again for them, still no chargeI returned to their home to address this door times to make them happyThe final time I went to the [redacted] residence to address the finish again for them, they were not home even though I made sure they knew I was coming to address their door againWhen I arrived I noticed they had replaced the door knob and lock with a new one, leaving a hole in the door as well a number of areas that would have to be fixed where the old handle was When I tried to contact Mr [redacted] to ask about the new door handle there was no answerI had no choice but to leave and suffer the wasted tripWhen Mr [redacted] finally got back with me I told him I would only come to his house one more time to address the door, and he must be there discuss the new door handleAt this point, he replied that he would make sure everyone knew that I wouldn’t stand by my work and told me I must pay for him to hire someone to address the door I told him I was never paid to paint his door, nor was I under contract to do so and furthermore, I would not address the areas where the old door handle wasMr [redacted] continued to leave bogus and rude “reviews” of my business on multiple sites and this is an obviously a direct attack on my businessDuring this whole time I painted other jobs for the [redacted] ’s as wellMr [redacted] just asked me last week to bid another job for him, before this whole disagreement took placeI am certain if there was ever a problem with my work they would not be asking me to bid other jobs for themI believe this is a friendship gone bad over a service provided through friendship and now they feel it necessary to attack on my credibilityI have numerous reviews on my other sites, none of which are anything close to Mr [redacted] ’s reviewThe [redacted] s would obviously like to get their door repainted for free, after they have had a year to ding it up and change the lock and as a business owner/operator, I refuse to repaint their door as I have not been paid or asked to bid the door Sincerely, Dave E [redacted]

The notion that someone would hire a company (friends or not) to paint an entire house except for the front door is unfounded, and quite ridiculous We picked out colors long before hiring cmc painting and the door was to match the shutters (same color) Further, I have many texts between Dave and myself that clearly outline what I wanted done These are available to anyone who would like to see themEven if Dave's excuse was accurate (which it is not) he still ruined my front doorThis is clearly an attempt by cmc painting to skirt their responsibilities as a contractor Dave mentions in his response that I am just trying to ruin his business, however he fails to see that currently that is my only recourse as he is refusing to fix his mistakes I did not leave him any bad reviews until he decided to not fix my door Perhaps mr e [redacted] doesn't yet understand how the world works He was more than willing to have me give a good reviewin fact even asked me to many timesNow he is angry that I am leaving a bad review? Good service = good review bad service = bad review Dave is not a qualified painter, it is my duty to my community to make sure others know what level of service he providesIt matters not who painted my house, all that matters is that I paid for a service that was substandardIf I had never met Dave before, if him and his wife both had not verbally attacked me I still would leave a bad review for this terrible paint job Cmc painting is clearly not upholding their guarantee so I am forced to take other, even legal action Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Sincerely, [redacted]

The notion that someone would hire a company (friends or not) to paint an entire house except for the front door is unfounded, and quite ridiculous.  We picked out colors long before hiring cmc painting and the door was to match the shutters (same color)   Further, I have many texts between Dave and myself that clearly outline what I wanted done.  These are available to anyone who would like to see them. Even if Dave's excuse was accurate (which it is not) he still ruined my front door. This is clearly an attempt by cmc painting to skirt their responsibilities as a contractor.  Dave mentions in his response that I am just trying to ruin his business, however he fails to see that currently that is my only recourse as he is refusing to fix his mistakes.  I did not leave him any bad reviews until he decided to not fix my door.  Perhaps mr e[redacted] doesn't yet understand how the world works.  He was more than willing to have me give a good review.... in fact even asked me to many times. Now he is angry that I am leaving a bad review? Good service = good review  bad service = bad review.  Dave is not a qualified painter, it is my duty to my community to make sure others know what level of service he provides. It matters not who painted my house, all that matters is that I paid for a service that was substandard. If I had never met Dave before, if him and his wife both had not verbally attacked me ... I still would leave a bad review for this terrible paint job.  Cmc painting is clearly not upholding their guarantee so I am forced to take other, even  legal action.   Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,
