First, I am a 25 year family business that’s been in the Needham, Dover area for all of the 25 years.I Have a showroom in Needham center and belong to the Needham Business association.I pride myself on our reputation,, and work with most of the builders in this area.We also travel to most of New...

England and a lot of clients on the Islands.I met [redacted] through the builder and met with him when he was able to meet.The builder was pushing [redacted] to make some decisions as he wanted to close the walls.I sent a prewire proposal (which is only to rough wire speaker wires and TV wires buried in the ceilings and walls)The quote was for $1,900, [redacted] gave me the go ahead to do as the builder needed it done asap.We started wiring even though [redacted] had not decided to wire a few of the rooms.He decided not to wire the bathroom, but since my guys had already wired it, I just credited him the cost of wiring that location for ($250) leaving his bill to be $1,t650.We wired the project with no deposit, as I am well respected in the area, and was willing to trust him.He then emailed me that he wanted to move the TV wires to another wall, in the family room.I sent my guys by there and the walls had already been foamed (the builder insulated the house )I told [redacted] that I would be glad to run new wires to the different location, and relocate the ceiling speaker wires to accommodate the new TV location.( the cost of a HDMI wire and cat 5 wires is around $200 plus labor of $150 to move) I told him I would move for free, as I know he was on a tight budget.So he never paid for the MBR bath wires for $250 and my relocation of the family wires of $350 he also was never billed for)When it came time to talk about the completion portion of the job, I became very suspicious of [redacted]He questioned why I would need to charge him to install the TV and cut in speakers, and why wasn’t that included in the prewire.I fully explained that the completion portion is a new proposal, and we could discuss optionsHe then decided to purchase his own speakers and use his existing TV, once we discussed options.At that point I became very uncomfortable with working with him and was told by people involved in the project, that he was impossible to work with.I did provide [redacted] with 4 completion options, including the last one which I agreed I would install all his speakers and his own TV, even though I didn’t like the way he wanted to hook up the system.I even offered to move all the wires from the basement to the family room TV location (again at no extra cost)My final invoice was for $2,100 labor and $400 Materials  which included Mounting a TV and wiring it in the family roomInstalling 5 ceiling speakers in the family roomSubwoofer in the family room2 kitchen ceiling speakers2 dining room ceiling speakers2 outdoor speakersRewiring and installing  2 new speakers in the 3rd floor to a new locationI was willing to do this out of good faith to [redacted] and the builder.I met with [redacted] and went over the pictures we took and showed him exactly where each speaker wire is buried.I also marked a diagram, (as he requested) as I only do photograph of my prewires.I don’t do diagrams , I take pictures of the locations of the wires (Which he has, and claims he cant figure out, even though its quite clear where they are located.Again I walked the house with [redacted] and showed him in person where those locations are.In closing, I feel [redacted] is a very difficult person to work with.In all my 25 years of business, this has never happened to me, as my record can prove.I feel no [redacted]er what I sent him, he was going to have an issue.I was told by many on the job, that it would be in my best interest to  walk away from this house.I tried my hardest to bury the hatchet with [redacted], but it was evident he wanted to pay nothing for any additional work, and was trying to get money back for something he didn’t even pay for.If [redacted] chooses to file a small claims suit, I have all our email correspondences and I will counter sue for the additional work we did.=

THE TRTH OF TH E[redacted]ER WAS THAT, AS HE LATER EXPLAINED, HE WAS DEALING WITH AN ILLNESS IN THE FAMILY OF WHICH I WAS NOT MADE AWARE UNTIL AFTER AND ALSO SPENDING MORE TIME WITH MORE LUCRATIVE CLIENTS, EVEN THOUGH HE INITIALLY ASSURED ME THAT, DESPITE MY SMALL BUSGET, I WOUL DBE TREATED AS WELL AS ANYONE ELSEAS CAN BE SEEN, HE ALSO HAS A HABIT OF  BLAMING CUSTOMERS FOR HIS MISTAKES AND TRYING TO MAKE HIS CORRECTIONS LOOK LIKE FAVORS AND BENEFITSIN THE PROCESS OF WORKING WITH MR [redacted], I HAVE BEEN LIED TO, SWORN AT, INSULTED, PATRONIZED, AND BLAMED FOR HIS LACK OF ATTENTION, PUNCTUALITYI did provide [redacted] with 4 completion options, including the last one which I agreed I would install all his speakers and his own TV, even though I didn’t like the way he wanted to hook up the system.WHAT DOES IT [redacted]ER IF HE LIKED IT OR NOT?
