Review: Last night on October the 28th, I signed up for CNBC's PRO subscription which clearly stated the subscription included a 30 free trial period from the initial sign up. I simply wanted to watch the Republican debates and only intended to use this services for the purpose of watching the debates. This morning, I checked my bank account to find that CNBC had charged me $299.00. I called CNBC to cancel my service and asked why I was being charged for a free trial. They told me that the amount charged was a temporary deposit to confirm that my account was valid and that it would be removed in 48 hours. There was no indication that they would do this when I was signing up. This put me in a dificult financial situation as I have bills to pay. I called my bank and reported the charge as fraudulent and since the charge was pending, it has since been erased from my account.Desired Settlement: There should be NO DEPOSIT for a FREE TRIAL! If there is no alternative, then CNBC should clearly state that the trial is not free initially but is free after a temporary deposit of $299.00. My most desired outcome is to just air the debates for free because us Americans have the right to watch these debates!
