In May 2016, I contacted CNN Mortgage, recommended by my realtor, to obtain a Pre-Qualification to continue my home searchI spoke with Julie Cain at CNN on several occasionsI was actively searching for many years so I was very specific on what I expected from CNNI told Julie numerous times I do not want my credit report pulled unless it was a soft pull/would not be listed as an inquiry on my credit history for yearsJulie assured me that it was not a hard pull and it would drop off after daysI relied on her expertise in this field and her representationsAfter days it was still on my creditI contacted Marcy Briggs, a manager at CNN, I believe, who told me that the website I was looking at to view my credit score (Credit Karma), was not a typical credit reporting site, and what I was seeing is not actually what is on my creditThat was ridiculous, but this is an example of her patronizing statementsMarcy was unhelpful, untruthful, did not take me seriouslyShe
My husband and I recently met with Zeno Z*** to discuss what a mortgage payment would look like if we used their services He assured us that if he pulled our credit, it wouldn’t be a hard inquiry He insisted that hard inquiries only happen when credit is pulled for various loans or credit cards that are unrelated Later that day I received an alert about a hard inquiry and my credit score went down points After talking to multiple other lenders, they all assured me that having credit pulled the way it was, is always a hard inquiry and that we were simply lied to Furthermore, we were told that the estimates he gave us for monthly mortgage payments were incorrect because he used a rate that is much lower than what is actually projected Seeing that there is an additional complaint against CNN for the same issue just shows that they are not trustworthy at all
