CNO Financial Group Reviews (%countItem)

My Dad purchased a life insurance policy in 2004 for his children which he informed me about last year. I'm his son. He told me that the policy had been moved into my name and I could do with it whatever I wanted. I told him I was closing it. He gave me the documents he had and I called the company to close the account. Was instructed of the paperwork necessary to close the account which I did. The initial request was months ago and I have still yet to be able to bring it to a close. I have had multiple phone calls with customer service and supervisors all giving me conflicting information. Sometimes I'm seen as the policy holder and other times my Dad. Finally I got a supervisor on the line and reviewed what he showed in the system and the necessary paperwork to close it once and for all. I faxed the docs and confirmed receipt the same day. Seven business days later, I received a check BUT it was as if they did not even pay attention to the REQUIRED NOTARIZED paperwork I submitted. The check was not the amount their customer agent had confirmed (and I have a statement showing that amount), the check was made out to my Dad (paperwork requested me as the payee), taxes weren't withheld (also requested on the paperwork), and it was mailed with my Dad as the recipient and mailed to my address (even though I had done address updates with the company). I called again today and the customer agent said the issue was beyond her area of expertise and would have a supervisor call me. She did verify that they did not follow the documented requests she was reviewing. She also told me that it would take another 7-10 business to correct THEIR mistake and if I wanted it expedited I would have to fax them a request. REALLY? I stated that I needed a return call today and it never came. They don't care about the customer. The incompetence with this company is off the charts. Still waiting for resolution.

I have tried to speak with their customer service many times. They are arrogant and down right nasty. I have asked them for a document for Enforce Re projection that my financial adviser needed to see about my Life Insurance . Sent them a registered letter so they got it. I have sent several other requests previous and they always say the never received I also needed a letter saying I was insured using my cash value to cover the insurance till my death. Insurance costs are$500 a year and my interest is $1200 a year. They still say I will run out. I even tried to tape them saying that this is NOT a problem and I will still have insurance. They would not put it in writing so I recorded our conversation, just like they record mine. They told me I wasn't allowed to do that and hung up on me. When I called back I asked for a supervisor and she told be it was ok. So I have on recording them saying that my insurance is good with out paying as long as my cash value stays the same. I have to keep that and have told my lawyer I have it so when I'm gone they can file a law suit a suit, if they say I am no longer insured. They seem very shady on everything they do. You can't even email them in 2020. Babies have email today. They just don't was anyone to have proof that they were notified. Can't believe they are that high of a rating. Their customer Service people are the worst I have ever spoken with dealing with companies.

They said they would pay for Vernon Helms nursing home bills but they refuse to pay. We paid over $100k in premiums and have received $0. I have proof they said they would pay but now they won't.

On numerous occasions I would send in the correct policy payments ( two separate checks) covering the monthly premium payments on policies (***, and ***). Conseco Insurance company accounts receivable department on numerous occasions post my premium payments to the wrong account. Thus causing the insurance company to mail me past due notices because of improper posting of premium payments I sent. This has caused me extreme stress and emotional turmoil because I would call the company and they still didn't get it right. They even admitted their mistake and still got it wrong on numerous occasions.

In 1988 agents came to where I taught publlc school asking if any wanted insurance. I said I wanted a life policy where I paid the complete cost up front so there would never be more money required. They gave me a policy but not what I said I wonted. I kept asking for what I ask for and was told by them I would get. They kept stalling even sending company people to my home saying what they had given me would do the same. I continued to ask for a letter so stating and after about 5 years got a letter from a company stating there would never be more payments to keep the policy in force. I thought the problem was over and they would do what they said they would do. NO! About 17 years later they sent me a letter stating I had 3 choices for the policy. 1. let the policy consume it's self, 2. make payments of about $5000 per year, 3. take a cash payment of a little more than I gave them up front. To me that was no choice and I had to take the money thinking they would honor their word by letter signed by a company VP. I have communicated many times since but they will do nothing.
