Review: I have two complaints. The first complaint involves the length of time he kept our trailer for repairs. We had two tire blowouts which broke the pipes under the trailer, tore insulation and the outside aluminum siding along the bottom of the trailer. This happened in July. He had the insurance check issued to him within a few weeks as a two-party check between him and my husband to be signed when the work was completed. He said he would get to it in a few weeks. My husband explained to him that we had vacation plans in August, September and October. My husband also went to the shop every two weeks to see if it was being worked on; it was not. He got a lot of lip service, but no repaired trailer. We missed our anniversary week, a week's vacation elsewhere and the entire archery hunting season because we didn't have our trailer back. We just got it back yesterday, October 23, 2014. There is no reason he should have had it from July to the last week of October. He said he had ordered parts in July but then in October said he was "ordering the parts". We spent our whole summer waiting for the trailer that never came in time for any of our plans.The second complaint is more serious to me. When my husband went to pick up the trailer, "Jay", the owner, told him he had to sign a LIMITED POWER OF ATTORNEY. Jay told him that because the check was over $800, and a two-party check, that he had to have that document signed before he could deposit the check. He also asked for a copy of my husband's driver's license, which he made. The repairs on our trailer were $1823.54. I am furious that he duped my husband into signing such a document and copying his driver's license. He could have deposited that two-party check from our insurance company without any of that. My husband obliged because [redacted] was so convincing and because he didn't know any better. He said [redacted] "explained the reasons" so he signed it and let him copy his license. I don't think this is even legal or right for repairs.Desired Settlement: I would appreciate it if you would check his business practices because of the Limited Power of Attorney form which he had my husband sign and he signed also, copying my husband's driver's license and because of making promises to have our trailer fixed and then not keeping his word. He is the only Coach Repair in Modesto. If he would have said it was going to take it that long, we would have had the opportunity to take it somewhere else but he just kept stringing us along.Thank you.
