CoachMasters Of Bend, Inc Reviews (7)

Coach Masters of Bend Incstands behind it's workWe did fall short on a few small issues on this job and have addressed most of them but still have a couple to finish all the wayWe have a set of silver light switches to get to Ms*** because she didn't like the black ones we installed,
and she believes the trailer has a propane leak but we can not check it were it is (plus miles from our shop) unless it has propane in it
I believe the main part of this complaint is that we did not leave a key in the trailer for the customerI, Scott M***, Personally talked to Ms*** on Tuesday November 24th, I sent her a copy of the bill and told her we were not open for the days over Thanksgiving weekendI told her if she wanted to pay over the phone with a credit card I would leave the keys in the trailer for herShe said she would review the bill and call us backAs of Wednesday afternoon(the 25th) we had still not heard from Ms***I called her again and left a message that if she wanted the keys left in the RV she needed to call and arrange paymentWe never received a return call
It is not Coach Masters of Bend Incor any RV company I knows policy to let an RV go to a non local who we had not had any dealings with before and owed a $bill
In the RV service business there is almost no recourse for collection if you don't have the RV in your possession
I believe all of this could have been avoided if Ms*** would have arranged a pickup during business hours
We are trying to update our policy's so we don't have this happen again
Thanks,
Scott M***

As noted on Mr. [redacted] repair order, in his emails and in person, Coach Masters needs a copy of his purchase receipt for the satellite dish before any repairs can be submitted for warranty repairs. Attached are copy's of the repair order, a copy of Winegard's warranty and copy's of the emails....

Coach Masters would be happy to submit a warranty claim when a receipt is provided and it shows the purchase was with in the labor warranty guidelines(1 year)

Coach Masters did not modify the Ford charging system on the Freelander. Standard Ford wiring on this model supplies a 12V+ wire in the tow plug for tow charging. If the customer wanted to modify the factory wiring there would have been a charge for the labor and parts to perform this change. The customer did not specify he wanted to us modify the Ford system so we did not change it.
I do not know why the battery on the jeep or coach went dead. I assume the key was left on but can not be sure because we have not seen the unit again to test. Modifying the charge system will not change the battery going dead on the jeep if there is a draw.
I am sorry the customer is not happy but we are only a service center. We did not sell him the coach, the jeep or the satellite. I can only perform repairs that I am authorized to perform and the customer is responsible until he can provide the needed information to bill warranty
thanks,

Now that we have a receipt for the satellite we will submit a warranty claim to winegard for the diagnostic work performed. Upon authorization and confirmation of payment we will immediately issue a refund to Mr. [redacted].
On the battery going dead on the jeep again we added a wire from the tow plug to the battery on the jeep. It is not normal to add a relay or diode on the tow vehicle. If it is done it needs to match the fusing of the charge fuse, normally 20 or 30 amp. If an inline diode is used it needs to be rated this high but also causes resistance limiting any charge supplied by the tow vehicle. This also only isolates one direction.
If the customer wants to isolate the tow car charge, our normal procedure would be to modify the stock charge wire by adding a ignition controlled relay in line of the charge wire on the tow vehicle. This way it is isolated both directions when the tow vehicle key is in the off position.
We did not modify Mr. [redacted] stock charging circuit on this tow vehicle nor did we charge for it.
Also If the Jeep battery was dead that means the tow vehicle battery was dead. Something drew those batteries down and should be researched
We would be happy to check this out for Mr. [redacted]

Ms. [redacted] has agreed to come to our shop on Monday 4-21-16. We will address any unresolved concerns at that time at no cost to her and we will come to an agreeable compromise at that time.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution while not totally satisfactory to me will end this complaint.
I would note:
If Coach Masters had replied to my multiple attempts to reach them via e-mail I would not have registered this complaint with Revdex.com. They answered everyone of my e-mails up to the point I picked up the vehicle and paid for their services. All e-mails I sent after picking up the vehicle stating there was an issue were ignored.
I disagree with their assesment of the charging issue. Having owned a truck with camper I know if you connect the camper battery to your trucks charging system without an isolator switch the truck battery has a good chance to go dead if there is any kind of draw by the camper. Based on their response to my e-mails when I had an issue with their work, i.e they ignored me, I would not trust them to do any further work to my vehicles.
I will look forward to a refund of my $240.00.
Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: At this point all I want for a resolution is for the company to pay the hotel, Locksmith charges due to not having the trailer available as promised on the phone.  I discussed how payment would be made and thru a number of calls someone did admit to me that the keys had not been made available regardless of the arrangements made on the phone for leaving payment in after hours box.Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
Attached is the receipt for purchase of the satellite dish. The business could have responded directly to several e-mails I sent them regarding this issues, they had responded to every other e-mail I sent when I wanted to schedule repairs. They also did not offer to refund the $240.00 for satellite repairs if I sent them the satellite purchase receipt. I have attached the purchase receipt for the satellite so they can apply for reimbursement and then refund our $240.00.

Regarding the charging issue the problem is they installed an extra wire above and beyond the normal wiring required for the towing/braking system from the RV to the Jeep so that the Jeep battery would charge when plugged into the RV during towing. however without an isolator installed any draw from the RV would drain the Jeep battery. I did not leave the key in the Jeep or leave it on. I charged the battery in the Jeep with the key removed and the next morning it started. I then plugged it into the RV like we were going to tow it and the next morning the Jeep battery was dead. I installed an isolator switch, charged the Jeep battery, plugged into the RV like we were going to tow it and the next morning the Jeep battery was fine. This has nothing to do with the RV or Jeep charging system.
The contact to the Revdex.com could have been avoided had this business responded to my e-mails describing the issue. They answered in a timely manner all previous e-mails scheduling an appointment, asking how the repairs were going, etc. But they did not respond to several e-mails we sent describing the issues we were having.

Sincerely,[redacted]
