This doctor doesn't care about your financial stability, only his own

Most fraudulent billing everAfter dozens of attempts with Naples and Cape Coral offices, unable to get even slightly honest cooperation to get their charges to match their legally obligated charges explained by Metlife / Tricare Explanation of Benefits , of which they ARE in the PPO Discover Card Fraud Department already credited me the fraudelently charged differenceSomeone at the company dinged my credit, for which they will be held criminally liableAnyone there, including corporate office on Boy Scout Drin Tampa will lie to you about audits, correcting the bill, etcit is a frustrating run-a-aroundAll of their dentists are EXTREMELY inexperienced, check their diplomas and licenses, they held two of my top crowns hostage for two months

This is in response to complaint I.D#* ***, which was formally received today at theoffice on 04/07/2016.Patient presented for service on 04/01/and was treated and diagnosedHe wentforward with treatment on 04/15/and was given and signed a payment planHe paid off hisdown-payment
and was then to pay off the remaining balance in monthly amounts. We received one payment the following month and then patient stopped payingAfterreceiving several statements and phone calls he wrote us a letter saying he had fallen on hardtimes, but was still going to try to pay us off.Eventually he moved to another state and did call and give us his new phone number andaddressAnother months followed with no payments and numerous rude calls from patient, upon which, we decided to transfer his account to our debt collection agency and let them handlethe balance and patient. Then we received a call from patient requesting to speak to myself (***, officemanager/dentist’s wife) because of a complaint that our financial coordinator was not nice tohimInicely explained that he wasn’t in collections, just a billing agency we use when accountsare months overdue.Patient requested to be taken out of system because they bothered him and said that hewould make payments of $a month on a $balanceI then responded that I wouldsuspend his account for nowWe received one payment of $His second payment on01/09/was for $50, which we depositedPatient called again to say he had stopped payment Apr 1602:28p COAST DENTAL *** p.3because he didn’t have the funds, and would send another check for $which we credited him$because his NSF check cost us $at our bank.At this point we just re-sent him back to our billing agencyAs you can see from thisreport, he calls incessantly, takes us away from our patients and work and, honestly, is very rude.Of course he called again and asked to talk to me and I said in a polite, but firm voice, that we were just going to let the agency take care of the account from now onHe hung up on meHewas never sent to collections, we made many attempts to work with him, and as of today04/07/he called and paid off account with a credit cardCase closed

Unethical business practicesHad to wait months for an apptand then more months when they werent finished with the expected serviceDisrespectful to my child and myselfHygienist extremely rude and unprofessional at the LUTZ locationBig mistake to bring my son to this officeHave never been spoken to in this manner by a dentist's office Took x-rays of my son and refusing to tell us resultsWhat if he has cavities???!!!

I had a very negative experience with Coast Dental, SNova Road, Port Orange, FL
Despite seeing the article in the news paper saying there were many complaints against the business, I thought I would give them a chance That was a mistake
I went in for a cleaning, and they came up with over worth of procedures they said I neededI had no cavities, my gum exam ratings were 1, 2, and 3's with the exception of one due to a receding gum from aggressive brushing They said I needed multiple things When I declined the extensive cleaning, maintenance program, and fillings (for receding gums due to aggressive brushing), they refused to give me a standard cleaning but still expected me to pay
They charged me for xrays which I found out the following day from my insurance company that they should not have charged me anything When I called for a refund, they said it would take them a week to research it and then let me know if they would consider giving me a refund
They are very pushy trying to get you to get dental treatments, maintenance plans, and fillings in my case (where my gums are receding due to aggressive brushing - it is not sensitive or bothering me) They also present the treatment and make you sign papers It is clear they have a history of problems with their tactics
Beware of this company Dental insurance companies should remove Coast Dental from their list of providers to protect their customers and stop this unethical practice They should not be sending them customers

Coast Dental Hudson Florida office, Dr. [redacted] Problem 1 is that the 2 crowns I had placed are already chipping and they refuse to fix them or reimburse me or the Insurance company do that the work can get done correctly. Secondly, The dentist office over charged me for services and did not charge me based on the contracted rate with the insurance company. They ripped me off for 1045.59. That is what is owed to me.

I went to Coast Dental for a few years and found them somewhat expensive. This year I found out why. They overcharged me and never let me know about how much of a credit I had. Last year in February it was over $ 400.00. This year they said I did not have to pay for the first treatment thanks to this credit. I had to specifically ask how much they owed me and was somewhat shocked. To this day I have not received my refund.
On my first dentist's visit at another dentist I found out that I have a shattered tooth that Coast Dental conveniently overlooked. I guess it would not have brought as much money.
If you go to that office be aware that all they are interested in is your money not your health.

This was my first experience with a dental "mill". New to the area, I picked this outfit from my insurance network list, for an initial exam and routine cleaning. Similar to other reviews, my suspicions were raised immediately when they took 16 bitewing x-rays AND an panograph. My tongue was injured in the process - never knew one could sustain an injury from dental x-rays. I was then required to sign a form authorizing cancer screening using an expensive method, not simply a look see. After refusing, even though "everybody gets this", I was immediately on the lookout for more sales pitches, which came soon enough.

Seated in the victim chair, I was presented with a glossy folder describing all the ugly problems associated with periodontal disease. Not to worry, my former long time dentist took great care of me, and my last visit with him was unremarkable (too bad I moved). A quick exam by the dentist revealed that unless I had "deep cleaning" of all four quadrants (whole mouth) I was a sure candidate for those ugly results in the brochure. He then introduced me to THE BEST deep cleaner in all of Tampa Bay, who would take care of me over the next several visits required. They refused to give me a routine cleaning as requested and the deep cleaning is not covered by insurance.

Finally, they presented me with a proposed treatment plan for my approval. It included $852 worth of cleaning and $2180 for 2 zirconium crowns, none paid by my insurance. Of course I refused, highly suspicious at this point, and later checked my coverage online. All sorts of crowns were covered but not zirconium, so I called and asked for an explanation. The dentist would have to call me back... of course never did.

I moved on to a reputable local dentist, and just returned from that visit. No deep cleaning required, no periodontal disease and a single crown to be replaced and covered by insurance.

The sad part of this saga are the many unknowing patients waiting in that lobby, mostly elderly and highly susceptible to this kind of operation. The financing plan presented would put those folks deep into debt with interest charges far into the future to boost the bogus sales numbers. So, two and a half hours later, I left without a cleaning and a very sore tongue. Not to mention a very bad taste in my mouth.

I was told I needed to have my four lower theeth pulled due to them being loose. Don't think they would have come out for another ten years. They pulled them out and asked if I wanted a stay plate until I received my permanent partial so I agreed. This cost around 275.00 for something I thought I could chew with. Well find out it was just for looks, you couldn't even tell my back teeth were missing. Then I finally get my partial which ddidn't fit from the startz, dug into my gums. Had them try to adjust it by filing it down. Now my bite is totally not coming together , teeth don't touch at all. This has been over six months that their dentist agreed that it should be replaced with no charge to me. It's been now over four months that corporate is suppose to get back to them. I'm so frustrated I don't know what to do. Wo uhh ld like to sue them. Very unhappy [redacted]

Went to Punta Gorda Fl office before 2016 because I was I'll & going on disability & would be losing my dental 2016. Gave them ins. Info they made contact with my ins. And made my appt. After my part of the cost of fillings would be $130.80. I paid up front and had 3 top surface no drilling small cavities filled. Then went through so far 7 months of harassment and collections for what they deemed they were still owed. Substandard work my one tooth surface has small holes all over where there work never held. Please never go we are now held hostage for over $385 dollars more we never should be paying but they turned it into collection to ruin are credit. Held hostage because we have good credit. They need closed down.

I will never go to the coast dental in Port Charlotte. They are rude, don't listen, won't try to help you. Of anything this office accused another office (not coast dental) of fraudulence. I originally came to this office for my daughter to get a consult for braces. Waste of my time, they wouldn't even push the paperwork through to Liberty dental insurance. In their words my daughter didn't meet their criteria in the point system she was an 18 out of 26. After numerous attempts to talk to the office supervisor Judi [redacted], she said that it would be a waste of time to push it through because the insurance would not approve it and I'd be paying out of pocket $600 for the visit. Then she proceeds to tell me oh but we do have Care Crédit, your monthly payments would be $148, for $3900 braces. Like seriously????? Would never recommend they are just horrible

The N Florida Ave location in Tampa, FL 33613 is a racket and a total SCAM committing MALPRACTICE.

Firstly, the office is FILTHY. There is rust and residue build up on the sinks, and rips in the walls. I came in for a routine cleaning that was fully covered by my insurance. They immediately tried to sell me a cancer screening for $59.99, did the X-Ray, then quickly told me I have moderate periodontal disease and 3 cavities.

I have never had a cavity in 27 years and had a clean bill of health at my last cleaning a year ago. I must have skipped gingivitis and the mild stage altogether! Despite being a non-smoker, with no family history, who brushes and flosses twice a day, according to Coast Dental I got this advanced stage disease in my 20's entirely from brushing my teeth and flossing too aggressively!

I was then outright denied my routine cleaning I came in for, and was handed a "proposal" for a $467 procedure. They told me I needed to see a periodontist, but he wouldn't see me until after this deep cleaning. Instinct told me I was being upsold so I left, but not before they charged me a bogus $5 copay.

On Google they have dozens of fake/paid reviews, but on Yelp there are many stories with claims similar to my own. And what I am claiming is that THIS OFFICE IS DIAGNOSING PEOPLE WITH "DISEASES" THEY DON'T HAVE TO HUSTLE THEM OUT OF HUNDREDS OR THOUSANDS!! How is this legal?

I would encourage Coast Dental to obtain a copy of my x-rays from Advanced Dental in Citrus Park to clarify if I have periodontal disease. I also encourage you to send me a $5 check for the copay that you charged and shouldn't have. Lastly, don't talk to me about your Quality Assurance line. It's straight to voicemail and no human ever returns a call.

Coast Dental, you should be ashamed and out of business.

My first appointment there this week was awful. I arrive 15 minutes before my appointment, the first appointment of the day. I wasn't called in until 10 minutes after my appointment time. I was ushered in for xrays, then literally shoved an invoice before I had any exams or xrays.
I was brought in to had my gums measured an then the doctor looked a y teeth. I scheduled a cleaning and initial setup for this appointment They said I'd have to wait 20 to 30 minutes for a cleaning. I couldn't believe this. I've never been to a dentist that didn't do a cleaning when you went for your appointment.
This company doesn't work with your insurance, they bill you in full and then require you to submit a claim after every service. I find this ridiculous and have never had to do this at any other dentist.
The office and exam rooms were very dirty. The exam chair I sat in was wobbly, not bolted to the floor as it should be. There was smudged residue all over the tray tables. It was very unclean.

I have been twice, and I will never go back. All they care about is money, and I resent being shaken down as opposed to getting the care I need. The first visit, they held my cleaning hostage until I agreed to THOUSANDS of dollars of periodontal work over the course of several visits. When I told them that I was not going to do their "treatment plan", they would not give me a cleaning. It should be noted, that my gums are perfectly healthy and I would've ended up paying thousands for nothing. Today's visit, the doctor refused to re-cement a crown that came off, even though it's in perfect condition, and the tooth underneath is perfectly fine, even by his own admission. Rather, he wants to charge me $550 for a new crown to be cast. All of this, by the way, was explained by the hygienist, who is very much a bully he sends in to do his dirty work. Her tactics are to convince you that the exorbitant price is actually pretty cheap compared to people who don't have insurance. To me, that's not the issue. If I actually needed the care, then I would pay it, but they're so clearly trying to wring every last dime out of me. If you're a doctor, you know that you're in a position where people will trust your recommendations, which makes this behavior all the more troubling: because a less discerning patient will go along with these "treatment plans" fully trusting that the doctor wants to do what's in their best interests. I do not believe this doctor has his patient's best interests in mind. Further, I believe he is in violation of point 6 of the Hippocratic oath for dentists which states: "I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart or a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick." This doctor doesn't care about your financial stability, only his own.

I wasted 3hrs and only had X-Rays done(out of pocket expense), only to find out that the hygienist wasn't there so I'd have to make another $25 appt. which I did and waited another 2hrs at only to find out my Insurance wasn't approved and afraid to get stuck w the bill I left. After 2 appointments later they still couldn't manage to get approval from my insurance, my insurance company has no record of them getting in contact w them at all. All they do is lie and delay probably because my insurance doesn't pay well. 6 months of cat and mouse, I am done doing business with Coast Dental..
