Coast Marine Inc Reviews (6)

Review: Coast Marine is a company owned by Mr. [redacted]. In April 2015, I hired Mr. [redacted] to preform work on my boat. He required 75% down and the remainder upon completion. The first job was completed and he was paid. I immediately hired Mr. [redacted] for a second job, and he asked for 75% down ($1,200.00). On April 17, 2015, Mr. [redacted] cashed the check the same day and scheduled to preform the work within two days. For the next eight weeks, 34 text messages and 22 telephone calls with Mr. [redacted], I experienced excuses and scheduled appointments where Mr. [redacted] would not show up and continued providing excuses. I have discovered 16 or more people on the Internet with the same complaint against Coast Marine/Mr. [redacted] and have lost money in the thousands. I have filed a report with the Newport Beach Police Department and the State Attorney General’s Office.

Review: Tom at Coast Marine was very responsive on my initial contact regarding refrigeration repair work. He provided me an estimate for my job, sent my an invoice and a request for a deposit. He would not accept a credit card for the deposit, so I sent him a check for $750. He then immediately cashed that check.Once the check was cancelled Tom went from being highly responsive to being entirely unresponsive. I left four messages over two weeks with him asking when the work was to be done, with no response. He finally responded with an excuse. Then no response or followup. Then another excuse. This went on for a period of months. After multiple months I requested a refund which he agreed to provide without any deductions. And again, no response after that.I have since filed a report with the Newport Beach Police Department, so that if someone else has a problem they can go after him for criminal fraud. I have since spoken with other people who know Tom and found that he has a very bad reputation.Desired Settlement: I would like my $750 refund in full.

Review: Upon request I gave Coast Marine, [redacted] an upfront payment of $1,650 to remove and install a new refrigerator in my boat. After almost two months from the initial promised completion date and numerous missed install dates in between I was forced to complete the project myself. Many attempts to contact [redacted] via phone and e-mail went without returned calls or e-mails from [redacted]. [redacted]'s lack of communication and lies have been less than professional and have cost me time and money. [redacted] from [redacted] Yachts can confirm all of this. I have asked for my money back and of course have not heard anything from [redacted] and Coast Marine. After researching this company online I see others have recently had the same type of unprofessional and unlawful interaction with Coast Marine.Desired Settlement: At a minimum I would like an immediate and full refund of my $1,650 downpayment. If this isn't immediately agreed upon I will be forced to take Coast Marine, [redacted] Dessel to court. This is not my desire but his flagrant breach of contract and holding of my money leaves me no alternative.

Review: Coast Marine Inc. represented by Mr. [redacted] (owner) was contracted to repair my anchor Windlass and also my Uline refrigerator on my boat back in Nov 2013. I paid over $3,000 to have this done, which also came with a verbal warranty of 3 months. The repairs were completed early Dec 2013. By late Dec. 2013 both units failed, and [redacted] was contacted. After many attempts in trying to get him to respond I filed a Revdex.com complaint in early Feb 2013, after which he immediately responded and said he would fix and provide another 3 months warranty ASAP, if I would withdraw the complaint, which I did. I then had to keep calling, and writing him to commit to a date to resolve (many times each week), it then took him until April 30, 2014 to come to boat to try and resolve, after which is stated the issues were fixed. On May 4, 2014 I went to my boat to verify the repairs and found that neither of the issues had been resolved. Again, after pushing very hard (many emails, calls, text messages) and him having many excuses, he finally came again on Jun 18, 2014 and again said everything was fixed. I reported to him on June 22, 2014 that the Uline was still not working and when I took the boat out on July 13, 2014 I also reported to him that the Windlass was still not working. After this many more emails, text messages, calls, and many excuses from him for a while and then he just stopped responding. As of today the units are still not working and he is not responding. I have in my records all emails and text messages (100's of them) exchanged between myself and [redacted] of Coast Marine which will serve a documented proof of what was promised in terms of repair, warranty, and their total lack of fulfilling their agreement.Desired Settlement: Full refund of amount paid for repair of Windlass and Uline, as Coast Marine has failed to fix the issues as agreed and based on their actions cannot be depended upon to fix. I will then need to hire another company to perform the repairs.

Review: Contracted to repair a Norcold refrigerator on my boat he asked for 50% deposit for Labor and 100% of the cost of the parts I agreed because this busniess was referred to me by the manufacturer of the refrigerator he took the money on June 10 I have not had any correspondence from him since that date I have made several phone calls left messages asking when I can expect the work to be completed with NO response. at this point I feel I have been taken advantage of and I'm out $1475.12Desired Settlement: Refund

Review: I contracted Coast Marine Inc. to; rebuild the anchor Windlass on my boat and repair the U-line refrigerator/ice maker on my boat. All of this I paid over $3,100 to complete. Within 1 month of the repair (and after only 2 uses) the Windlass stopped working. The U-line also does not make ice or get very cold. I have been trying to get Coast Marine, Inc. to come and repair these items, which are under parts and labor warranty, since notifying them on December 23, 2013 of the failure. At first they responded that they would let me know when they would come and fix. Now, they will not respond at all. It is now Feb 3, 2014 and Coast Marine Inc., have not yet repaired these items, which they expressly told me would be warrantied.Desired Settlement: Options: 1) Refund $3,100, or, 2) I will contract another company to repair and Coast Marine Inc. pays the cost, or, 3) Coast Marine fix the units and extend the warranty for labor and parts for an additional 3 months after they fix.

Thank you for taking the action.

This issue has now been resolved with Coast Marine. Please remove my complaint and show it as resolved, as Coast Marine would like to get a message from the Revdex.com that this is resolved and closed.

Thank you

Sincerely,
