Coast Urological Medical Group Reviews (5)

RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I sent the medical group the $25.00 they wanted. The charge was billed because I did not notify them 24 hours prior to my cancellation. I am still disturbed that their waiting room is always packed and the doctor seldom sees you when scheduled, yet they never offer an apology or rebate part of their fees. Also, since this was my first time to cancel an appointment, they could have notified me when I called that their would be a charge. Also, when I asked them to send me a corrected bill (they initially charged me $40) they refused. Why are they acting so arrogant, as this was my first time to miss an appointment and they never bothered to even ask why I gave them less than 24 hours notice? If this is the manner they treat their patience than it wouldn't surprise me if the same arrogance carried over into their medical practice. Regards, [redacted] ***

Review: I recently received a bill dated 8-1-14, simply described as "Unlisted specific" for $40.00 from the Coast Urological Medical Group. The statement threatened to refer any balance which remains after 30 days to collections. I called the phone number on the bill and was told the bill was because I gave them less than 24 hours notice that I could not make the doctor appointment scheduled on 7-14-14. I was also told that the $40 bill was incorrect and it should have been $25. I asked that I be sent a corrected bill and was told that they would make the correction after they received my $25, but not before. I called Secure Horizons Medicare Advantage, my medical insurance provider, and was advised that I am only responsible for a $5.00 co-payment, if that, and was told to report this matter to the US Dept. of Health and Welfare and file a grievance with the American Medical Association. I will only pursue these other options if the medical group insist on billing me for this "late fee."Desired Settlement: Dismiss this bill.
