Coast Wholesale Appliances Reviews (1)

I recently purchased a very expensive suite of appliances for my kitchen from [redacted] The purchase was made from their 'sales rep' company in Regina, Sask - Coast Wholesale Appliances. The sales person made a few mistakes on our order. He ordered the wrong dishwasher, and the wrong wine fridge. We called when we discovered the mistakes, and Coast Wholesale took no responsibility. They passed the buck, stating that [redacted] will not deal with the sales rep, all 'after-purchase' issues have to go straight to [redacted] When I called [redacted], they wanted to charge me a 20% re-stock fee on the dishwasher. I also discovered two extra parts in our possession that we had been charged $1200 total for. They want 20% restock fee to take them back. [redacted] When I try to call [redacted] now, they politely take my information, put me on hold and when they come back to the phone, they say there is nothing they can do, or the managers are 'in meetings' and unable to speak to me. So, I have $1200 parts (which aren't for any of our items, so it's not even worth keeping them) and I am out of pocket that. Or $200 to send them back. [redacted]Desired SettlementI would like [redacted] to take back these parts, and to waive the re-stock fee. [redacted]. Between Coast Wholesale and [redacted], the error was made. [redacted]Business Response Regarding this customer's complaint, Coast concedes that the wrong model dishwasher was ordered by the customer. As per the last conversation Coast had with the customer and [redacted] a replacement dishwasher, which is the correct model, has been sent to the customer directly with no restocking fee applied. As for the incorrect wine cooler, the customer has not mentioned to Coast that this was an incorrect model. In addition, the customer states they have extra parts but they have not mentioned to Coast which parts are extra. All of the accessories that were ordered are required for installation for the appliances. If the parts received do not match the parts on the order, or, if the quantities are incorrect, then this is a simple case of a shipping error. However, this order was reviewed by the salesperson and customer before being submitted to [redacted]. While Coast concedes that an error was made regarding the dishwasher model number, if the customer has changed their mind or no longer requires parts/accessories for installation of their appliances, these would be subject to a restocking fee for return.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)here are the facts;-we sat with the sales person and told him exactly what we wanted. He put in the wrong code for the dishwasher. This was discovered when we unboxed it after delivery. We called Coast and the salesperson said there was a panel included that changed the colour. There wasn't. Coast then refused to deal with it, citing [redacted] Policy after order, that we were required to deal directly with [redacted]. -we noted the salesperson had ordered the wrong wine cooler, and explained to him exactly which one we wanted. He made the fix to the wine fridge, and didn't cancel the extra parts from the order that he had placed for the wrong fridge, and they arrived, $1200 worth of wrong parts that he overlooked cancelling.-on dealing with the first dishwasher error, the salesperson told us we had to deal with [redacted]. [redacted] told us it was the sales persons fault.-we physically visited Coast Wholesale and spoke to the manager who refused any responsibility on behalf of his company. Further discussions with [redacted] finally had them waive the restock fee. [redacted] -when we had the extra parts ordered in error and not removed when the correction was made, I called Coast again. I asked to speak to someone, anyone other than the original salesperson because I had no trust that he wouldn't cause further grief. I explained once more the error, and was told to deal with [redacted]. They absolved themselves of error and would not be accountable for the mistake. -a [redacted] product order is complicated. Even now when I look at the bill of sale it is not easy to readily discern all of the parts and product numbers and be able to, at a glance, determine what piece belongs to what item. [redacted] Final Business Response Coast has followed up with [redacted] regarding the accessories in question. [redacted] agreed to a return of these accessories on January 21st, this return was for the full amount and the restocking fee was waived.Coast considers this matter closed as the customer has received what they requested as a resolution, in fact, the customer received this last month a couple of days after filing this complaint.
