we had a costal cooling unit installed back in 2017 with a 10 year warranty by trane. In december of 2019 we started having massive aluminum flakes blowing out of ducts onto our living space. the unit failed in January of 2020 we called for repairs the service tech Mike showed up and made a temporary repair. they documented the corrosion of the system for trane and warranty by Tim Larkie (the sales rep.) its been months and they have not repaired the system and now it is leaking water in the ceiling of our home. our home is being destroy and they don't seem to care. There might be significant heath risks from the massive aluminum oxide poisoning. We do not recommend Coastal Cooling or a system by trane. We keep calling them to please come repair this and they don't call back.

I cannot stress enough - STAY AWAY from this company! They're quite attentive during the sales process but it ends as soon as they put in the unit It looks like Cooter was here with a couple of guys he picked up along the way - the unit looks like it's going to fall at any moment (hanging lopsided, some sort of leak, cold air blowing out where it shouldn't be, pieced together at best) and a filthy mess was left behind by the installers (hand prints and dirt all over the walls, garbage) After the initial install, a "supervisor" came to inspect before the county inspection and agreed it was horrible - so much so that he said he himself would have to come back out to make it right One month later, and no sign of him yet (big surprise!)Even the county inspector said it was a crap job and that this company would not honor their promises or their word - and he was right Several calls to the office (and I mean SEVERAL) with the same response from the same office employee: we'll call you back, we'll get someone out there, blah, blah, blah This has gone on for weeks - sadly we don't think they will keep their word so heed our warning - DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!! (Hated that I couldn't give them stars!)

A nightmare experience -- Our AC stopped working so we called this company because our neighbor had just started using them for maintenance service We were told our yr old system had to be completely scrapped and replaced $for a ton unit(I thought it was to be a heat pump, but it was just cooling and resistive heat) They installed a ton unit, took them hours over days to get it inNeedless to say, it didn't cool the building the way our old ton unit didDespite different techs out to our place, I had to be the one to point out that they put the wrong size system inThe work wasn't to code and lacked the components I paid for Took endless hours on the phone to attempt to resolveTheir guys either didn't show up as promised, show up on a different day, and/or show up without the necessary parts On top of it all, unbeknownst to me they had run a full charge, payment in full, before they even showed up to do the workSo I had no recourse but to try to guilt them into doing the job as specd and paid for They steadfastly refused to reverse the charge, lied to the credit card company about the work being completed I lost several days from workAt one point I was calling every dayEventually we gave up hoping for a satisfactory result for the work/equipment we paid for

Coastal called me to conduct a 49.95 check up on my AC unit. He came a few days later and explained to me that my unit needed to be replaced ASAP!! it was dangerous, and spreading mold into my home. Coils were froze I could clearly see that. The freon was leaking And it was Amping too high was a fire hazard that it would quickly stopworking. He stated THIS IS THE WORST IVE EVER SEEN and we had to hurry because they had one unit with a rebate left of $800.
Cost estimate was $5800. We had system shut off and had another company come out from insurance people. This company said it was fine. Yes it's leaking but there was sign that the Coastal guy deliberately drained our unit because he could see the valve had been messed with. I looked them up on here and WOW. The same exact issue happened to someone in June. Almost word for word. So disgusted.

I am livid. this company called me to conduct a FREE check up in my new home. They arrived the following day and informed me that my unit needed to be replaced as soon as possible. Tough sell included that it was dangerous, and would quickly stop running. Also tough sell included that they had two units with a rebate left - and I'd better sign on the dotted line quickly to save $800. Sure enough - after the salesperson left, it quit running. Coincidence?? I think not. It was running FINE before he messed with it. This company is a sham. I've heard of companies like this and am so pissed off that it happened to me. I'll have fun sleeping in 90 degrees tonite.

Do not use Coastal Air Cooling and Heating. I had a tech out to do cleaning and annual maintenance. Supposedly 39.95. He came in and told me the capacitor was going to go any time and needed to be replaced. He told me it would stop, and I would be without air. In his estimation it would be any time. He gave me a price in the mid $200. range. He then told me I needed a start assist to really have it run right and that would be $349. But then I wouldn't need the capacitor because it would save it.I told him I would think about it and get another estimate and he told me if he had to come back again he would have to charge a service call charge. I said how would that be a service call charge if you know what needs to be done, and he would just be coming back to change the part. He told me they have GPS in the trucks, and if he came out again I would have to be charged a service call fee. What a bunch of hooey! He then told me I need a UV light. I told him that was not going to happen because I did not have the money now. He asked if I had good credit and I told him yes. He said I could finance it for 18 months with them. I told him I was not going to do that and he went back to pushing the start assist. I should have kicked him out as soon as he told me it would have to be done right now. I wish I would have told him no, and told him to leave. Instead I told him ok. He had me worried my AC would stop working. He then came in after it was done and told me because it was too big and the screws didn't fit he used duct tape and twisty ties to secure it. Seriously? When I objected he told me they do it all the time and that it would hold. I paid a total of $388.95 for lord only knows what. I will not take any calls from them in the future! I feel cheated. I was robbed. I called the office and loudly told them what I thought. I was told I misunderstood, that it would be a service call if the unit was not working. No, I did not misunderstand. I was told by the technician that if he had to come back to do the start assist, even if the unit was still working, he would have to charge me a service call charge. Don't take their calls! This is a ripoff! No wonder they are not Revdex.com accredited. They don't deserve to be.

NOT RECOMMENDED; Good sales pitch but very poor installation and service. Installed new unit and cleaned ducts in 2013. After installation and cleaning vents discolored ceiling. Service call found improper installation and poor seals. Seal fixed but unit continued to emit dirt from vents. Subsequent calls for service ignored. After more than two years, problems still exist and company has refused to service the unit in spite of promised free annual inspections. After paying top dollar for this unit we are very disappointed and considering small claims court to resolve this. Buyer BEWARE applies here!

A nightmare experience --
Our AC stopped working so we called this company because our neighbor had just started using them for maintenance service.
We were told our 3 yr old system had to be completely scrapped and replaced.
$6200 for a 3.5 ton unit. (I thought it was to be a heat pump, but it was just cooling and resistive heat)
They installed a 2 ton unit, took them 12 hours over 2 days to get it in. Needless to say, it didn't cool the building the way our old 3.5 ton unit did. Despite 5 different techs out to our place, I had to be the one to point out that they put the wrong size system in. The work wasn't to code and lacked the components I paid for.
Took endless hours on the phone to attempt to resolve. Their guys either didn't show up as promised, show up on a different day, and/or show up without the necessary parts.
On top of it all, unbeknownst to me they had run a full charge, payment in full, before they even showed up to do the work. So I had no recourse but to try to guilt them into doing the job as specd and paid for.
They steadfastly refused to reverse the charge, lied to the credit card company about the work being completed.
I lost several days from work. At one point I was calling every day. Eventually we gave up hoping for a satisfactory result for the work/equipment we paid for.
