visit. This misconception is seen in many different medical specialties, not just women’s care. The truth is there is a very specific list of items that are considered preventative care. For women’s health, The American College of Gynecology provides education and guidelines. ACOG put together a guideline on women’s preventive services that I have attached hereto.   In order to educate our patients and manage their expectations, we came up with a form we present at the patient’s arrival for their preventative care exam letting them know that there may be additional charges if issues outside of preventative care are addressed. Attached is the form the Ms. [redacted] signed before her visit.   I have reviewed the patient’s chart and documentation to assure all policies and procedures were followed appropriately. Dr. [redacted] documents in her note that the patient discussed an issue during the visit. Dr. [redacted] sent in a prescription to the patient’s pharmacy to treat the issue she indicated she was having. Counseling on, and treating an issue that needs a prescription is not considered preventative care. Dr. [redacted] added the following CPT codes to be billed to the insurance company: [redacted] – Well Woman Exam, and [redacted] – New patient office visit with low complexity – 10 min.   I even reviewed the patient tracking done in our system and it appears the patient was in the room for approximately 35 minutes.   I am confident that the patient was treated and billed appropriately.   First off I was not seen for at least 15 minutes by Dr. [redacted]. I did not take the prescription she prescribed and didn't agree to taking it. I left the sample she gave at the desk. When a Dr. ask a question a patient will answer. There is no form stating what subjects will be charged if talked about. So as a patient how am I to know what I can and cannot talk about?  These questions were asked to me. I did not voluntarily talk about what she claims. I feel this is a way that doctors trick their patients into talking about things they can charge for. I want my refund and I will be filing a complaint to the medical board as well.  I will also go to social media if this is not resolved and warn everyone how Dr. [redacted] does business
