Coastal Pride Towing

Review: I called Coastal Pride Towing for a quote to tow my truck to [redacted] auto repair. I informed the woman who answered the call that I needed a flat bed tow and that it would be a private pay . I aslo informed her that I chose Coastal because it is was a referral from [redacted] web page. I received a quote of $84 for the tow that was itemized as a $40 hook-up fee plus 11 miles at $4/mile. I scheduled an appointment for the tow, but had to cancel because of logistical reasons. I called back and rescheduled. After the tow was completed, I was presented with a bill for $128 that was itemized as $80 hook-up fee and 8 miles at $6/mile. This final bill represented a 52% increase from the original estimate. Nothing had changed and no additional equipment was needed. I called Coastal and spoke with a man named [redacted] who informed me that the original estimate was the price [redacted] would pay and that my insurance would cover the rest. I explained to him that I had informed the woman who took my call that it was a private pay, but [redacted] absolutely refused to honor the original estimate.Desired Settlement: I believe that the original estimate was sought and issued in good faith and that the final invoice was incorrectly calculated. I want Coastal Pride Towing Company to stand behind the information disseminated to potential customers by its employees and to act in good faith to customers who rely upon that information.

Review: I was involved in a car accident on 11-6-2013 at 7pm. CHP, EMT and SD fire department arrived on scene. My Mercedes Benz key was taken off of the

key chain while I was in the ambulance and was given to the tow truck driver by CHP. I was taken to the hospital and the next day I called to take my car out of the tow

truck business. I spoke to [redacted] the receptionist that assured me that my key was not given to the tow truck driver. The way my car was hit it required the key to

move the car in the delivery process. I spent all day calling CHP, EMT and the SD Fire Dept. I specifically asked [redacted] to have someone check my car as

I had spoken to all enforcement agencies and they all agreed that the key was given to the tow truck driver. She waited another day to check the vehicle and

subsequently found the key as the enforcement agencies said. I asked to speak to her manager and she stated that no manager was available. I told her I should not have to

pay the whole amount that was being charged since it was their fault for not properly securing my key that they had in their possession. She said there was nothing she can do about it and I would have to call an [redacted] on Monday. I showed up an hour later to take my car and another woman by the name of [redacted] said she was the manager and that she had been standing by [redacted] while I was on the phone. She said I would have to pay the full amount. I called [redacted] and [redacted] again and I have not been called back. Due to their lack of proper securing of the car and key I should not be responsible to pay more than one night since I would have taken it would the morning following the accident.Desired Settlement: I would like to get refunded as I had everything in place to take my car out of the tow truck company. THEY misplaced my key not me.
