Review: coastal trash reps came door to door soliciting their business with a lower rate. we were told they would contact our previous trash collector to cancel our service. they did not. we were told they would never reference any other vendor negatively. they have. we did not sign the 1 year contract. we were told their customer service was supreme and someone was always available to answer our calls even on weekends. they are not. they also have [redacted] trash removing our trash, they don't even do the trash removal. we were never told they subcontracted the service. after leaving messages they are days to reply. they are rude and condescending. we decided to cancel our business with them and they argued, bad mouthed the other company and tried to tell us we were held by the contract we (didn't) signed. I asked when they would pick up our cans and they still haven't told us. we paid $57 for a quarter and only had 3 pickups before we cancelled. prorating the bill we should receive $44 back. they told us we would receive $13 because of cancellation fees of $25 which is nowhere listed on the paperwork. When I told them this he said "then we will charge you $100, how about that". I told him that his attitude was why we are cancelling that he had poor customer service. I also told him the other company was very professional and never treated me that way. he said "thanks for the story". I have never dealt with such an unprofessional company and would not recommend them!

I would like to know when they will pick up their cans. I would like to be refunded the $44 and an apology would be nice too.

Review: I was told that "my account" had been purchased from another company ([redacted]) and that [redacted] Trash would now be handling my trash removal. I never had an account with the prior company, but had had an account, which was cancelled, with the company ([redacted]) that it had bought out. I called [redacted] Trash to take my name off their list, that I no longer live at that location, and that never had an account for them to take over. I then received 2 invoices in the mail for trash service. I called again to make sure my name was removed. The gentleman I spoke with was quite rude, telling me that "if you already called then you're off the list!" without me even providing my name for him to check again. When I did give my name, I'm pretty sure I just got the answer I wanted without him actually looking. Now, 2 weeks later, I'm getting 2 more invoices for the same time period in the mail.Desired Settlement: I want my name and address removed from their system and all "bills" to be stopped and cancelled.

Review: From September of 2012 to January of 2013, I was supposed to have been charged $24 as agreed per my contract with [redacted]. I called to make a payment on my account in August. In September, I noticed that $25 was taken out of my account. I contact the company and informed them that this was the wrong amount and was told that I would be refunded the difference. In October, November and December I was also charged $25 instead of $24. I contacted the company again and was advised that I would be credited the difference. In January, I received notification that a new company was handling the account as of February and then I received a bill from that company asking for payment without the credits. I immediately got on the phone with [redacted] from [redacted] and was advised that [redacted] was now handling my account. I informed him that I have been charged $25 a month instead of $24 since September and was owed the difference (in this case $5). I was informed by [redacted] that it would be refunded or credited to the account and notification would be sent to [redacted] never received notification. I have emailed [redacted] Trash on 3/11/13 and recevied a response back stating that they would refund me. I have yet to receive a refund.Desired Settlement: I am demanding that the amount be refunded to me ($5 for the difference + $25 for January + $25 for February = $55). I need to pay my current trash service company; however I'm still owed a refund from [redacted] (company that sold my account to [redacted]).

I've heard of the issues with [redacted] from others. You do understand that Bob's Trash and [redacted] are not the same company? I have been out of residential service for more than a year. I'd suggest either contacting your bank or calling the county. Good luck.

Review: Coastal Trash Service solicited families in our neighborhood door to door to convert their local trash/recyclable removal service. The pitch was a lower quarterly cost and a seamless cancellation of existing service. If you sign up now they would immediately begin service the following week. Fine print on the contract notes a 1 year term that auto renews unless they receive notification 60 days in advance. It also notes that you have 3 days from signing to cancel the agreement.Service did not begin for two weeks as Coastal containers were never delivered as stated. Another week passed as pickup days noted in agreement were Thursday when in actuality they were coming in on Tuesdays. I called to confirm and they simply brushed it off as a mistake. I called our previous service provider to check if the service had been cancelled as Coastal stated they would do and it was not. Once service finally began Coastal pickup crew proceeded to dump trash and recyclables in same truck - not acceptable, nor what we signed up for. I called to discuss the issue with Coastal and for two days all calls went unanswered. On the third day I reached someone and simply noted that this wasn't working out and it would be best to cancel the service. The response was that I was in a 1 year contract and there was nothing that could be done. I told them to come and get the containers off my property as I would not be utilizing their services any more. The gentlemen hung up on me. I followed up in writing noting my intent to cancel and I wanted a date that they would pick up their containers. After three follow-ups over the next week, I finally received a response again noting that they would pick the cans up after the 1 year contract was over. I called and spoke with someone and they said they would write up a work order and pick up the cans but I would still be responsible for the fees associated with the 1 year contract. They breached the contract from the get go and are providing an unacceptable service

Immediate cancellation of service.

Review: Coastal sales rep went around neighborhood soliciting Coastal Trash services. She said they would cancel our current service, provide new garbage and recycling bins, and pick up trash and recycling on Thursdays every week as stated in agreement. I agreed and hired their services.They never canceled the current service I had. They never picked up on a Thursday. The changed the day to Tuesday and never notified me. I had to call ask why my trash was not picked up on Thursday, then they told it is on Tuesday so I had no trash pickup for almost 2 weeks. When they finally did come up the trash, I saw them emptying both the trash and recycling all into same truck. They did not separate the trash from the recycling. I tried several times to reach them via phone and could not get through. Finally I sent an email on 11/19 requesting my service be cancelled and for the empty bins to be picked up. I then received a phone call from [redacted] at Coastal who told me they were short on trucks so they could not separate the recycling from the trash. I said that is unacceptable and please cancel my service. He was then very rude saying I was obligated to pay for a year's service and hung up on me. I called back on Tuesday 11/26 and explained my dissatisfaction to another employee and the response was, I was obligated to pay. After we argued about it, she told me the service would be canceled and trash bins would be picked up in 2-3 business days. Today is 12/4 and Coastal still has not picked up the bins. All I want is the agreement to be terminated and the bins removed by Coastal. I still see them every week picking up the trash and recycling and putting in one truck. They are not separating them which I think is terrible. People take the time to sort recycling from trash and Coastal just mixes them together.Please advise,[redacted]

Contract Terminated and Coastal to pick up their Garbage and recycling bins from my property

Review: This is a trash collection service I selected for residential pick up. The account started in July 2011 under the name "Clean It On Up". In 2012 the business changed to "Clean Up 4 U". In 2013 it then transitioned to "Coastal Trash Solutions". I was not under any contract at any time, remained a loyal customer with up to date quarterly payments until July 2013 when I discontinued service. I notified Coastal Trash via email on July 12, 2013 of my decision and thanked them for their services, and that I would not be paying the August-October invoice in the amount of $69. "[redacted]" from Coastal Trash Solutions emailed in response. In early August we arranged for trash can pick up. A truck came by and picked up the can on or about 8/13/13. On 8/17/13 I received an invoice from Coastal Trash for $45.00 dated 8/9/13 due 8/24/13 for "Cancelation (spelled this way) and pick up fee". I emailed [redacted] 8/17 this was never discussed and requested the fee removed. I left a voice on 8/28 in follow up. I received no response to my concern and request. On 9/2/13 I received a collection notice from [redacted]) via mail. My significant other, [redacted], also on this account, contacted [redacted] on 9/3 to complain there was no indication we would be charged a cancellation fee, nor is there a contract to that effect. No resolution occurred. My complaints are: The business is using deceptive billing techniques in retribution for our stopping service. In addition our account was sent to collections immediately following the invoice due date. This practice is not legal. Finally it is impossible to talk live with anyone at Coastal which goes against their advertising as a "family owned business". We are asking the cancellation fee is removed and this account restored to a zero balance with no risk to our credit (both myself and [redacted] who is retired military).

Review: Emailed and called them before labor day to complain about them not telling when is the trash pick up day (new service) and it has been 1 month with no service even though I left the trash in front of the garage. The service suppose to start in Aug 2013. The customer service tried to blame me for no service saying I should of called their customer service instead of email. The emails were about 8-10 with them replying and not provide straight answers on pickup day during the week. The final email I demanded full refund of $66 which they refused to do. I have called and emailed them about cancellation and still got a bill in the mail for the next quarter.Revdex.com reported them as out of business which is not true. they still have their website and customer service line. Also they picked up their trash can from my house the week after labor day weekend. Last week they sent 2 paper bills to me for payment.
