On 6/3/Coastal Van Lines contacted [redacted] to compete an inventory over the phone in order to receive an accurate estimateOur pricing is contingent upon the amount of room occupied in the truck We received a detailed inventory description from the customerThe customer had a lot of non-stack-able items to be transported not to mention she had a lot of not regular household good items (Air Tanks, Metal pieces, large Equipment) to be transportedAlso customer did not disclose boxes and bags in the garage Due to pricing not being accurate we compensated the customer with free packingThe customer was responsible for just moving the boxes and bags we weren't aware of and the awkward itemsThe customer was not charged a penny more then the estimate we provided

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The only reason I was not charged more than the estimate was because I refused to let the movers put anything on the truck that would increase the estimateWhen I was given the price, it was after giving detailed information about all of the equipment in the garage, and being told by the rep that they were included in the estimateOnce the movers arrived they informed me that I would have to pay $per each item in addition to the quoted priceThat's tanks at $150, and tables at $150, totaling $1,just for those itemsNot only were those left for me to move but also all of my bookshelves, a wheelbarrow, Battery Operated children's cars, a lawnmower, trampoline, refrigerator, microwave, end tables, entertainment center, and approximately boxesMuch of which had to be left behind because we couldn't afford a large enough trailer to move it all inI was lied to and mislead about the space needed, the rep never once told me anything I had inventoried was going to be a problem or an additional chargeIf she had I would never have used the company at allBy the time the movers arrived and informed me of the issues (that according to the movers "happens all the time") it was too late to cancel without losing my deposit $1,This bait and switch tactic is unethical, and completely reprehensible Sincerely, [redacted] t

Until our system has a destination address it does not calculate an exact distanceOur pricing is based off of the amount of room occupied in the truck and the distance the customer is travelingUnfortunately we were not notified until the day prior of moving day with the exact destination address

When customer confirm reservation with coastal Van lines on June 14, the customer did not have an exact address out in Texas Our pricing is contingent based off of distance to be traveled (Place Of Origin To Destination)Until we confirm an exact point of address to address The rate is not locked inThe customer called in on June (The day before moving day) and also sent an email confirming destination address out in El Paso Texas which is at the border of MexicoDue to the great amount of distance the price per cubic foot increased a dollar per cubic foot the customer would have been notified if she had contacted us earlierThe customer agreed upon price increaseCoastal Van Lines rendered services on June I will be having the owner of the company contact the customer to offer some type of compensation

I am not finding a customer with this nameI do not believe we serviced him and that he has chose the wrong companyIf he can provide a job # or a copy of our contract, I will most definitely help him

Coastal Van Lines (Vero Beach, FL) was very helpful in our large relocation from West Virginia to Vero Beach, FL The driver and moving crew were professional and friendly The administration (Larry and Jake P) were helpful in all aspects of the move I would recommend using Coastal Van Lines in both your small and large relocations

I am rejecting this response because: the company has failed to addressed that when they called me a day prior to let me know the rates had changed John clearly stated it was a computer error and he even apologized for them dropping the ball. The zip code I provided on my initial binding estimate was 79925 when I called to update which I have emails that prove I tried to contact [redacted] for a whole week prior to my move (not a date prior to pick up)trying to update my address once she finally returned my emails I updated  the zipcode to 79936 still in El Paso there is no reason why the amount would change that dramatically as my destination was always East El Paso Texas. I won't be satisfied until the company gives me a compensation for the entire unsatifistfactory experience. Their response also failed to address the movers packing liquor in the truck taking up my space on the trick and taking unauthorized items. Failed to address the fact they called me a day prior trying to reschedule which caused unnecessary stress and me changing already booked appointments due to the showing up so late. The company never responded to emails or calls. Horrible experience and service. They need to compensate me if they truly are about Their customers because they treats me like garbage not to mentioned when my items got delivered over 10 items were damaged and they even left an item that doesn't belong to me. Shows that lack of attention to detail. The movers who delivered my items didn't even speak English it was the worse experience from beginning to end.

In response to the following complaint. We are...

working on trying to track down the six boxes missing. The valuation of the boxes we came up with is $300.00 / due to we can not confirm the items in the boxes. The customer signed off on the waver of 60 Cents per pound per article. - As Basic Valuation Protection - I would like to apologize for the customer not getting a hold of anyone here at the office but we do reach out to any missed calls or voice mails we receive. The customer may call the sales department or their sales rep from the hours of 8am To 6Pm EST Monday - Saturday. Please use the direct line for the claims department [redacted]. Also I have [redacted] from claims contacting the customer within the next 20 mins.

On 6-6-2017 we conducted a phone interview with [redacted] (The Customer), During the phone call we took a very detailed inventory of all items to be transported and packed up. Coastal Van Lines, when we arrived at the residence to move the customer they had a total inventory count of 98 items, we provided a new revised contract. the customer agreed to pay new cost. Now regarding the damage to items - The contract clearly states Basic Valuation Protection: $0.60 per lbs. per article. / If the guitar was of great value why didn't the customer transport it himself or have a guitar carrying case. The customer is trying to summit a claim for an item that was already broken and or had prior damage.

I was very impressed by [redacted] of Coastal Van Lines. Not only was he vey professional, but he went out of his way to make my move enjoyable and stress free. The quote he gave me was more than fare and very affordable. The movers, he sent to my condo, packed up all my belongings very carefully and took very good care of them. They were right on time and even stayed later at the unloading point due to weather to ensure my things did not get damaged and even helped me to hang heavy items for no extra charge. They never even took a break. In this day and age it truly was a blessing to have them do such an outstanding job. I highly recommend this amazing, caring company!

I am rejecting this response because:
The only reason I was not charged more than the estimate was because I refused to let the movers put anything on the truck that would increase the estimate. When I was given the price, it was after giving detailed information about all of the equipment in the garage, and being told by the rep that they were included in the estimate. Once the movers arrived they informed me that I would have to pay $150 per each item in addition to the quoted price. That's 7 tanks at $150, and 3 tables at $150, totaling $1,500 just for those items. Not only were those left for me to move but also all of my bookshelves, a wheelbarrow, 2 Battery Operated children's cars, a lawnmower, trampoline, refrigerator, microwave, 3 end tables, entertainment center, and approximately 20 boxes. Much of which had to be left behind because we couldn't afford a large enough trailer to move it all in. I was lied to and mislead about the space needed, the rep never once told me anything I had inventoried was going to be a problem or an additional charge. If she had I would never have used the company at all. By the time the movers arrived and informed me of the issues (that according to the movers "happens all the time") it was too late to cancel without losing my deposit  $1,100. This bait and switch tactic is unethical, and completely reprehensible.
