Cobb's Second Time Around Thrift Shop

Review: On Oct. 6th I bought a [redacted] DVD/VCR combo. On the second floor the man put in a VCR tape and then a DVD, both worked. On the [redacted] combo there was a blue tag. It had information about the combo. On one of the lines it had, REMOTE and over to the side it had the YES box checked. I took the combo to the cashier on the first floor. She went over to a rack that had all the remotes on it. She found the remote to my combo, looked at it and put in the bag. When I got home I found that it was a universal remote not the original [redacted] remote. If the women would have told me that it was universal remote, I would have never bought the combo. I know from past experience that the universal remotes don't bring up the menu on VCR's. This [redacted] combo was useless to me. I could not time any programs. The universal remote book didn't even list the [redacted] combo to get the codes you need to put in.I took it back on Oct. 11. The women that sold it to me was behind the counter. She pointed to a sign on the wall that is several feet away and among paintings and said all sales are final. I told her that it is fraud to sell a combo with a universal remote, I should have been told it was not the [redacted] remote. She then told me that it says on my receipt that all sales are final. All sales are final was not on my receipt. Another woman came up and said that the new register does not say that yet. Then the first women said she never uses that register. I told her yes she was using that register the day I bought the combo.I went up to the second floor and the guy tried to bring up the menu but couldn't. The second lady talked to the owners husband and he said I could get a store credit. I don't want a store credit, I paid $42.39 and I want my cash back. I really don't want anything more to do with this store. The second lady gave me the store credit, but would not give me my original receipt back. I asked for a copy of the receipt but she said she couldn't do that.Desired Settlement: I want my $42.39 back. I don't want a store credit. I also think that stores that have a "all sales final" policy should put a sign right on the front door where you go in. They should also have a sign that is displayed right on the counter where you pay.
