My son and I went to the H&R Block on XXXXX [redacted] in Aurora, Ontario to file my son's tax return. As he is currently unemployed, he wanted to have his cash right away. I knew that they would take a percentage but what I didn't know was that they would take a percentage and then huge fees and left him with a pittance. His refund was suppose to be $324.36 and their fees were double the refund that he got back, approximately $286. This is such an unfair practice, knowing how little he earned last year and taking double the refund away from him. I will not use their service ever again.
Went to H&R Block to do my taxes I should have known better halfway through because the person doing my taxes couldn't figure out what my occupation was or how to put my tools inAfter a long process of what felt like them getting used to the computer system for the first time, I was informed that they were getting lots of disgruntled clients and that it was because "there was no one with experience in the branch"Needless to say, we finished up, I paid a lot more than I usually paid my original accountant (whom I'm going back to after this) and a few months later I was given a letter from H&R Block stating the return was less than they expected and I owed them nearly *** IBack pay within days or they would add over 20% annually of interest
They made a big mistake that now I'm penalized for AND got paid well over what I paid my previous accountant whom never made mistakes like this!
Save your money and do your taxes yourself or have a professional accountant do it, not H&R Block
Their software is full of mistakeThey made mistakes in our tax filling, getting us in a lot of trouble and ending owning over 7000$ to the CRANo help, no services, they taken no responsabilities, even if they admited their mistake

I scheduled an appointment, and left work early to go into the office and when I arrived the receptionist told me that my appointment had been canceled but failed to notify meI left my documents at the office to be completed and was told it would be finished the following weekI called to check in about my tax return status times the following week and was reassured that it was being worked on and would be finished before the deadline
When I didn't hear anything by Monday May 2nd (the deadline) and I called again to checkI was told by the receptionist that she couldn't locate my file and would need to call me backI received a call at 9:30pm from the individual who completed my tax return and she was rushing through the explanation as she was also with another clientAfter she sent me my the document to sign, I saw the amount on my tax return and called back to inquire about itIt turns out that there was a mistake and if I hadn't flagged it, it wouldn't have been rectified and I would have had to pay back the CRA almost $3000!!! In addition to this, it was NOT submitted on time
Furthermore, when I went to submit the payment it was almost TWICE the amount that I was originally quoted
I am EXTREMELY frustrated and disappointed with this serviceIt shows a complete lack of respect for my time, and felt that my tax return was done poorlyAnd after all that, I had to pay a fee that was double the amount I anticipated
Needless to say, I will no longer be using H&R Block and have been very vocal to my network about the disappointing and incompetent service that I received

When picked up, discovered, they had doubled the figures for some items.
Thereby, making my taxes owing doubled the amount.
Returned taxes to be redone. Made no effort to correct them very quickly.
Corrected tax not received till, almost the last day of April.
I pay my taxes in instalments. Revenue Canada sent me a form indicating how
much I pay in advance,based on my taxes,( which now based on incorrect figures). Now I've had to pay much more, as Revenue Canada, requires payment by a certain date, or you are charged interest.
When Revenue Canada was contacted and explained this situation.
It's up to me to pay by the date on the notice.(regardless)
It is now almost November, I still haven't received my proper ta assessment.
It's been very frustrating for me.
I at least should have been offered a complete refund.

Was happy to get such a quick appointment. Had my taxes done for 2013-2015. The lady seemed nice so no complaints there. What I had a hard time stomaching was that it cost me [redacted] to have her plug #'s into her system that took her just over an hour to do (for all 3 years). My taxes in 2012, for the exact same documents filed cost me [redacted]
I will never do business with H and R block ever again. Not only do I owe the government 2477.00.... I'm charged almost $[redacted] to do it (for just over an hours work). Documents cost $$ but how they charged this much is robbery. I felt sick to my stomach when I left.
