Nice knives, however I had my large fsx for 3 ish days and the hole the glass breaker screws into stripped out. Cobratec informed me to send it in last week. Not sure how long the warranty process takes but I haven't heard anything back yet. Hopefully they got it back and I hear something soon.

I did get the knife back, they fixed the original knife which is ok with me as long as it works. I was a little confused on the process. I know for future reference if anything goes wrong send it in and they just take care of it and send it back. I guess I was expecting a email with a confirmation they are sending it back, which is no big deal to me. Thank you guys! Such beautiful knives. Worth every penny

Faulty paint application
I purchased a CobraTec knife at the beginning of July. After 1 month the knifes paint begin to come off. I contacted the company about this and they did not seem to care. They told me I could pay to ship it to them and then pay for them to cerakote it. When I stated I should not have to pay more for them to fix and error on their end. Their response was well Atleast I still have a knife. When I addressed this on their social media they ended up blocking me so no one can see my complaint. This is horrible business practice. I didn't spend $90 for a product to start coming apart within a month.

Desired Outcome

A new knife that isn't going to lose its paint after 1 month

+1

I purchased a knife from an authorized Cobratec dealer whose blade came off-track shortly thereafter. I returned the item for repairs. It was sent back to me and again shortly thereafter it went off-track. Once again I returned it to Cobratec. This time I got an email from a gentleman who was in charge named ***. He immediately arranged for a brand-new , newly-designed model of the knife I wanted to be sent to me. The lifetime warranty that Cobratec offers was put to the test and they passed *** flying colors. A lifetime warranty is no little thing for a company to take on. Sure, I had some difficulties at first, but a little understanding and perseverance solved the technical problem. Cobratec's heart is in the right place. I've had the new blade for months now with no malfunctions. I consider Cobratec equal or surpassing *** quality and function to Microtech and Benchmade. I wish this company well. Thanks ***.

I ordered a thin blue line otf from them. They have many different blade styles and I changed my mind before it shipped and
sent them an email. They did call me, I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the #. They left me a message which I didn't answer before they shipped it. When I got the knife, to my surprise, it had the original blade I ordered plus the other blade. No additional charge. It works well, came razor sharp and has very good ceracoating. It's not my self defense knife, I have a push dagger zip tied behind my magazine pouch, but for the month or so I've had it I've beat the *** out of it and it still works just like new. For the price ( I'm not paying the same price for a knife that I could buy a glock for) it's solid. It has a lifetime warranty and I'll update my review when I need it. And I will.

Thank You, *** We appreciate your business.

Bought a Cobratec Knife at a local gun show, being intrigued by the Out-the-Front design. I bought one after hearing they had a lifetime warranty, which was my primary concern given the cost. Registered my knife the next day, and shortly thereafter the mechanism broke. Contacted Cobratec, and they were very responsive and happy to make the repairs. I sent the knife in, and didn't hear back for several weeks. At that point, I asked what the status was, and Cobratec indicated they had never received the knife. After providing them a picture as well as the USPS tracking data which indicated it had arrived, they sent me a new knife very similar to the one lost, even though their warranty explicitly indicates it does not cover lost items. So I'm going to call this a positive review; we'll see how much longer this lasts. If it's more than a year, I'll be pleased.

I purchased a knife from an authorized Cobratec dealer on 10/15/17. The knife quit working approx. 5 days later. requested a refund and was denied
I went to a gun and knife show in *** on 10/15/17 and purchased a "medium CTK-1 wood drop ser"knife for $89 via *** an authorized Cobratec dealer. The knife quit working approximately 5 days later. The knife has a lifetime warranty. I registered the warranty information with the company in ***. Spoke to a representative and requested my money back. I was refused a refund from the company and directed to speak to the dealer I bought the knife from for a refund. I spoke to the dealer who refused to give me a refund and directed me back to the company. I do not want another poorly constructed product on its place, I want my money returned so I can purchase a product that I can rely on.

Desired Outcome

A full refund of the $89 purchase price of the product

I bought a knife on October 15, 2017, and it quit working approximately 5 days later. I requested a refund and was denied. Offered to replace the product if I paid for shipping. Why would I want another unreliable product? Don't waste your money!

CobraTec Knives Response • Jan 03, 2018

When our knives are purchased you have 30 days to send in for a full refund as long as the knife is in new condition and has not been used. Once the knife has been used we can not issue a refund due to we can not sell the knife as new. We offer a lifetime warranty on all of our knives. Should the customer have an issue with their knife they can send it in for the warranty to be repaired. The customer is responsible to mail the knife to us and once repaired we pay to send the knife back to the customer.

We are willing to make this right with the customer. We offered to replace the knife with a brand new one. We never received the knife that the customer said they would send back.

When it comes to OTF knives it does not matter if they are a $100.00 or a $1000.00 OTF. They are mechanical and when you have something mechanical it can have issues. We have less than a 2% return rate. We stand behind our products 100% and always will.

Regards,

CobraTec, LLC

Amazing how the company provides a completely different response in a public forum. When I contacted the local dealer and main company for a refund I was told that they do not give refunds. Again, do not want a product that fails to open within 5 days of purchase when it had not been used at all. I have no confidence in this product and do not want a replacement, simply an $89 refund. Will continue to pursue this matter in small claims court and via the internet. Ex-military, retired federal law enforcement officer who is in the right and has plenty of time on his hands. Regards

What is your order number? Please provide us with your order number and we will refund your money no worries.

I am unsure what you are referring to in regards to my order number. The knife was purchased by a CobraTec dealer at the gun and knife show in Springfield Missouri on October 15, 2017. I have the receipt which is numbered XXXXXX and the registration number on the warranty card which is TS2017. The knife was registered appropriately and within the 30 days of purchase. Any information you need should be in the warranty information provided.
