Coco's Heart requires a $fee to submit an adoption application After submitting both, I never heard back

Hi Revdex.com, Thank you for this informationSpanky was adopted in October and the adopter reached out to us recently (in March) stating he was diagnosed with orthopedic problems and they would like us to pay for his veterinary careWe were sad to hear that, but we are very clear that we cannot make medical guarantees and that adopters are responsible for veterinary care once a dog is adoptedDuring Spanky's time in rescue he was seen at different veterinary clinics and neither clinic diagnosed the condition he has recently been diagnosed with.We do our best to ensure adopters are prepared for the responsibility of pet ownership as unexpected veterinary bills do happen throughout the life of pets.We provide all veterinary records on each dog at the time of adoption I have included our adoption agreement to this email- we are very transparent and clear about the terms of our agreement and that adopters are responsible for all care once a dog is adoptedSpanky was adopted months agoWe do not pay for veterinary bills for dogs that have already been adoptedIf the family is unable to provide care for Spanky we are happy to welcome him back to our organization and provide for him, we really love himPlease let me know if I can help answer any other questionsLook forward to hearing from you, -Ashley

I was so excite when we decided we were ready for a dog and found the perfect match for us at Coco's Heart Rescue - 'Chip'I immediately paid the $and put an application inI kept checking my email to find out if we had gotten him or not, we were so excitedBut no newsI finally emailed them and got this response- I replied to your application on the 13th at the other email address you provided on your applicationI emailed back and said that I had not received anything from them and could you please respond to this emailThen she said- I sent it againStill didn't get itI sent another email saying I didn't get it and could you please just respond to this email chain, because I am getting these emailsI also called, no responseThen she said- I sent it againDidn't receive anythingThen she said- I've sent it times nowAnd I said I haven't gotten any of themNever heard from them againIt's not the end of the world that we didn't get 'Chip'But the way it was handled is so disappointingI don't even mind the $dollar donation if they'd just let us know what the deal isYes or noBut if I'm going to make a charitable contribution, I want to do it with a charity that I know is doing a good honest jobI don't feel like Coco's Heart is doing a job on the business side of thingsI sincerely hope they are doing a better job with the dogs they are handling

After losing our amazing dog to cancer, I wanted to adopt a puppy for myself and my young children Cocos is very confusing, as far as knowing if you are the first in line to adopt a certain dog Then we got our puppy, took her home and she has has several health issues that were not verbally told to us I asked several times, through email, about her vet Appt'sAnd how she did after being spayed They told me she is great Then we drove hrs to see and adopt the puppy They did not have the recent vet documents, to hand off or go through with us I later read through the one set of documents and it revealed the puppy had a grade heart murmur When speaking to our vet, they were really upset that that was never spoken about, because the rescue group said that it wasn't that big if a deal and that many puppies have grade heart murmurs My youngest son was born with a heart defect, hope in the heart/heart murmur, and there is no such thing as a non important heart murmur No one knows what that means until it gets worse or better Also, our puppy had direhea the moment we got her Cocos rescue was once again contacted and we were told that it was from water, the food or travel Well.......it wasn't! She has a oarasite that our vet told us that she came to us with it I, fir the or 5th time contacted the group and once again they told me that it wasn't their problem DO NOT ADOPT FROM THEM

Horrible experienceWe spent $to adopt a second dog into our familyWe were told she had no biting history, great with children and other dogsAfter bring her home she was bitingShe bit my husband and vet so hard it drew bloodMy kids were scaredSo when returning her to the shelter we learned not only is our adoption fee non-refundable and non-transferable, they expected us to pay $to surrender her backafter a lot of emails they were so kind enough to waive the surrender fee, but we are still out the $No other local shelters are like thisDo not waste your moneyYou can get a dog out of a bad situation with multiple other organizations, that will be better at helping you if issues ariseHorrible customer service, they lie to get dogs moved, and do not care to help you after the fact

I am rejecting this response because:
The contract states medical responsibilities after adoptionOur dog has a condition that was present before adoption and not disclosed with usAs a new pet parent, I was not aware of the signs that in fact were shown back in December"In puppies, especially those with a mild case of pes varus, early signs of varus include lameness and limping, but as the leg continues to grow, all the while against the resistance of the closed shin bone plates, the paw begins to point inwardDepending on the severity, the deformity can lead to dogs being unable to walk around or play with their friendsLeft untreated, varus will lead to a severe case of osteoarthritis, joint problems and complete immobility. The only treatment for pes varus is surgery, via a procedure called open-wedge osteotomyThis procedure involves the surgeon cutting laterally on the shin bone, next to the curve, creating a wedge shape gapThe intact bone will continue to grow and pulls the bone straightA dog suffering from varus can be walking normally just eight weeks after surgery, although the procedure can cost around $3,per leg."I will be filling additional complaints against this organization as I feel they are responsible to pay for the careAdditionally, they want to dog back in order to provide medical care for then to place on adoption again and I will not be eligible to adoptThis is insane

We adopted our puppy Dunga on 10/24/Shortly thereafter, he began limping and much to our dismay, I learned he has severe structural deformities and as he ages, will only become worseHe has a combination of varus and valgus deformity in the antibrachiums bilat, that causes the front feet to point outward, the front leg bones to bow, and the growth plates to close prematurely and he has been experiencing discomfort and pain
Much to my dismay, I am unable to get pet insurance as this is a pre-existing conditionIn my opinion, the rescue will not honor their obligations and refuses to help me get the surgery he needs unless I return the puppy and I will not be able to get him back (which will cost me another $100)
He needs a surgery to fix the defect and the rescue will perform such surgery if I surrender him
Based on the Pet purchase Protection, Lemon Law I do have the rightsArtSale of Dogs and Cats(S.Sub Rights of the Purchase)
