Review: This involves a Polaris ATV. One of the rear drive shafts on the left side of ATV failed causing ATV to pull hard to the left causing ATV to lose control. I removed rear drive shaft and it showed no signs of lubrication inside universal joint covered by rubber boot. I bought new universal joint from Polaris dealer in question. When I got it home I examined it and found it to be defective and returned it to the Polaris dealer. Then I bought the complete rear drive shaft instead, after I got it home it seemed to be defective too, it was hard to move the universals like it was defective. Polaris said it was good that it would loosen up, so I went ahead and installed it. The ATV sat about 4 weeks until we took it out to go riding. While riding down a trail it starting pulling to the left again, I stopped and got off to see what the trouble was and the rear axle was on fire. Fortunately I had water and soda bottles along and was able to put out the fire. I returned the axle to Polaris and they had it for about three weeks or so, when they finally told me it was passed the 30 day warranty and they would not replace the axle. Polaris showed no intentions of correcting this problem not to mention the danger these axles created by bursting into flames, causing the ATV to pull to the left and causing an accident. To me I feel this is an extremely dangerous condition and Polaris should be liable for these inferior parts and responsible to correct this problem.Desired Settlement: I feel Polaris should replace this part. The dangerous conditions these parts create should be addressed. These inferior parts could easily have put the rider's life in extreme danger.

The customer came to us earlier this year and purchased an OEM part for his machine. At the time of the purchase he was aware no warranty was given with this part being installed due to the fact he was installing himself and not having an OEM certified technician install the item. Little time passed by the customer came in saying the part failed. After inspection by our OEM certified technician he saw damage done when installing the part on the machine. The customer than ordered an aftermarket drive shaft at the time. He was aware that this part was coming from an aftermarket company and not a designated OEM part. A few months later the customer returned with the part saying it had caught on fire during operation. This part was not installed by an OEM technician so no warranty was expressed or given at this time. We did go the extra mile to contact the manufacturer regarding this part. We sent the part back to the company and received it back 30 days later saying no warranty could be given on the part. After telling the customer this he than asked for the companies information that makes the part. He said he was going to contact them for further issues.

Absolutely terrible customer service. The parts counter and the store manager are incredibly rude and they have an attitude of indifference towards their customers. I will never give them any of my business again nor would I recommend them to anyone.

Review: Sportsman 500 XT Four Wheeler.Was having problems with loss of power.Brought in 1st time to repair, and do rutine maintanance, after sevice, CDA Polaris, told me they could not find a problem.I picked of machine and brought home, tested myself and still had loss of power.Returned to CDA Polaris, for further diagnostics.This time they actually checked the fuel pressure, and found loss of pressure. Called me on the phone & stated that the machine needed a fuel pump, and that the pump itself was not replaceable, but the entire fuel tank needed replacement at a part cost of around $350. I verbally authorized the repair.I picked up the machine, ant took it home and tested for loss of power, it was fine, no loss of power.Hoever I noticed that the fuel gauge was not working.Returned machine to Polaris for repair.Recieved phone call later stating that it needed a new fuel tank at $550 for the part.I asked why, I thought they replaced the entire tank.They said they only replaced the pump, clearly stated on the reciept.I agrrec the recipt ststed that however I recall them saying over the phone, they had to replace the entire tank per MFR. specification.I dissagreed, & said they vebally told me otherwise.I am sure that the gage worked before the repair.I spoke with the manager [redacted].They are unwilling to cover the cost of the repair, and that they never told me they were replacing the entire tank.I also asked why only after 100 hours, & less than 100 miles, would it need a new fuel pump, they could not answer.I dissagree.I think I was miss led into thinking that the entire tank was replaced.Desired Settlement: I would like them to either find the problem with the fuel sending unit, and repair it at there cost. I think they just need to fiqure out what they dissconnected, and reconnect it.Maybe this is why the manufacturer requires a complete tank replacement.Because serviceing may cause other problems.
