Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/06/24) */ The cat did indeed solve the problem with the service engine soon light, but the owner had driven this car for a long time running bad and caused other damage to the carAfter we fixed the cat the computer could start running it's monitors again and we found what caused the cat to go badIf they would have brought the car in when it first started running bad they could have saved a lot of money on repairs [redacted] did all the testing for free and only charged cost to fix what caused all the trouble in the first placeAgain not fixing the car when it first started running bad is what caused the cat to go bad in the first place [redacted] gave the customer an incredible deal to fix this car saving her over dollars in repairs

I am rejecting this response because:Once again he is not taking responsibility for the work done on my vehicleHe should be responsible for proper installation not the actual function if the part was defective and didn't work that would be on me, but due to the leak on the passenger side where they drilled the hole to insert the bolt to hold the light fixture, leaks how is this the fault of anyone else if they drilled the holeIf they would properly fix the leak by putting the proper gasket and or gasket maker for this type of hole then we wouldn't have this issueThis isn't rocket science, the customer should be taken care of without any further charge, not one penny as I have already paid for this service to be done correct the first time.If this shop will not be responsible for their work, then don't take on the job, simple say no!!

when customer dropped car off he requested a tune up a brake flush and state inspections. he then asked what was involved in a tune up and I informed him that a tuneup was plugs, wires and air induction for carbon build up. he then said " whatever needs to be done". I called
customer and went over all pricing including prices to replace tires and he declined ties and asked for a quote so he can shop around on tires and I gave him the total for everything else at that time. when he came in to pick up his vehicle I again explained all charges and all work performed and he gladly handed me his credit card and customer appeared happy with all services. his original quote over the phone was for only plugs

In June 2017, I took my car in for an inspection and I knew it was going to pass inspection because I just had a tua month beforeThey told me my car did not pass inspection and I wanted to pay the fee and take my car somewhere elseThey refused to release my vehicle to me until I authorized them to do all the work that was allegedly wrong with itThey took me home and kept my car for three daysI called and told them if they did not return my vehicle I would contact the policeI do not believe anything was even wrong with my carThey came and picked me upI had to pay $and I noticed on the way home that the car was not running properly as it was when I took it to themThe car now shakes and shimmies and I feel very unsafe driving the vehicleI have told them that I felt the ruined my vehicle but they never called me backThey have ruined my car and it did not need to be fixedI should have been able to pay for the inspection and leaveI am having problems with

We do not warranty parts supplied by customersIf they don't like the fit, function, or performance of their parts they have to contact the manufacturer of said partWe did offered to take his part and try to modify it to fit better but he refused because he wanted us to be responsible for
the after market part he suppliedWhen you supply the parts you supply the warrantyOur month 36k mile nation wide warranty does not cover parts supplied by customersAgain we will be happy to fix the owners problem, but not as a warranty issue

My first time experience with this vehicle service center was back in to get a oil change and were met with a very professional and well spoken manager Jeff ***After receiving the oil change service we were sent a nice gift card values at $to use at a local restaurantWe were just floored and pleasedThus is the reason for our return for more needed vehicle maintenanceOur next visit June I went in with a smile and confidence that my request would be performed with another flawless experience only to be let down with dismayI request several items to be repaired and was assured that they could complete all the work in a timely manner, including installing a roof light bar and bumper light barThe understanding was as with all vehicle service shops to be standard if you bring in a universal part or one that the shop itself doesn't order and install themselves, they will not be responsible for the performance or the product itself, but will guarantee that it was installed correctlyThis is all I was returning to have their techs to correct, thus the problem was not the setup or the functionality of the product given to install but the leak from the hole they made in the roof of the vehicle passenger sideNow take in considerations that only after my wife observed water leaking from the passenger front handle near windshield and after taking a rainy vacation tripI immediately suspected it to be my windshield seal and had a new windshield put inIt still leaked so I took it to my local dealership and they pointed out the leak was coming from the roof area or windshield, so I took it back to the windshield techs and they took the entire windshield out and proved to me by letting me see in the shop area that the bolt through the roof is leaking with water flowing with in the head liner then to the window bar or front handle( took pictures for proof) and they verified that there wasn't any type of seal used with the bolt or sealant visible to prevent this from happeningThey reinstalled the windshield and put a water hose over the area to prove that it wasn't leaking from any part of the windshield and everything was sealed properly and with no extra charge with a smileSo before I returned to Coffey Automotive I made sure that other maintenance checks were completedThis was explained to his employee Eric and he took in the information and my request to have this looked at to correct the leakSoon after Jeff *re-appeared in the lobby stating that he wouldn't guarantee the work or labor to recheck work that has already been doneAfter attempting to debate the issue for minsI gave up and advised that his business practice is very disappointing and unprofessional not to guarantee his work on any part universal or notAnd throwing a customer under the bus in front of others is just in appropriateI advised that I wouldn't return and would write a negative review and file a B.B.B complaint on him and his businessAfter receiving my vehicle back his employee Eric met with me and apologized for the bad and unprofessional treatment and disappointment as he wish he could do something but he was just an employee and I told him I understood and have a nice day it wasn't his faultThis is not a person having a bad day but giving a bad response to a warranty work that should have been covered just for the proper installation nothing elseBut even with this said as a customer that have spent over $and was wheeling to spend much more to take care of many other items this was poor judgment and serviceMost business would have took the vehicle in and look at the issue and concerns to fix if the problems was there's and if not and could be fix without a significant cost to satisfy the customer would have done soShame on you Jeff *and you get a "F" for not handling this in a better and productive manner as to both parties winning at the conclusion

Quote I was given was $for replacing the spark plugsI was also quoted for a brake fluid flush, oil change and air filter replacementWhen I picked up the vehicle, I was charged an additional $for replacing the spark plugs and a clean air induction fuel kit that I did not request and was not told about when I dropped it offI was told it was part of the "tune up", but for some reason that was not part of the quote I received

I am rejecting this response because:Complaint: *** I am rejecting this response because: *** states that my LED Light bar is without any type of weather protection in which he is incorrectThe light bar supplied for proper installation is designed to with stand any adverse weather internally and externally and it does have a protective lens on the frontThis is all in writing and I attached a picture of this exact LED Light barIt also states its compatible for a Hummer Hwhich is another claim he is incorrect on, see the highlighted marker in blueWarranty Policy: I understand all policy that is standard on work completed in any mechanic's shop with also the knowledge that the business is also responsible for taking on any jobs outside of the parts given by a customer to include the correct and appropriate installation of propertyYou are not responsible for the manufacturers product to perform once installed ielight working, switches broken in packages, lens cracked etcThis installation is where we need to focus on with your vast year of experience, it is common sense to use a gasket or silicon to prevent such leaks from happening from any roof top hole that you drill into a customer’s vehicleIf by chance this was not included a simple phone call to inform me of same would have been proper, that's when you can charge a customer for the additional product if usedThis is such a small issue that should have been handle that day without any further complications, but you choose to create this issue and still want to charge me to correct the leak in which I have already paid you for in the beginning to complete the job correct the first time. As I stated from the beginning I didn't just show up to your shop without first looking into any other possibilities to cause such a leak or product failureI first thought it might be my windshield leaking so I had another put inAfter this it continued to leak, and I took it back to the companyThe installation department did what you refuse to do, they took the windshield back out to verify that their work was correct and proper*** also called me to the shop area to show me after several tests with water poured on the roof top it was leaking from the passenger side bolt underneath the headliner and traveled down the passenger window arm or divider where the handle is locatedI saw for myself the water dripping from the double bolt that was installed by your technician WITHOUT ANY GASKET OR SILICON APPLIED TO BOLT, ***, see attached proof a picture taken by me same day. I have also attached a copy of the unbiased official document with the Manager/ Tech name on it for you to call and ask any questions you may haveI am completely transparent with my complaint. You have attached copies of Light bar and manufacturers description, a copy of the official receipt from *** and a picture of the leaking area where the drilled hole and bolt is locatedTo end this matter I will be open for a $payment so that I can get this matter fixed correctlyI am aware that this will cost more but this is fare in my opinionThis is my last compromise Sincerely, *** *** Complaint: ***Sincerely,*** ***

The light bar supplied by the owner was installed exactly per the instructionsOne problem is this light bar has no cover to protect it from the weather, most manufactures cover their hardware to keep the elements front leaking through the fixtureHas stated before if the owner would like his parts to function better we can try modifying his part to fit betterAgain we do not warranty owner supplied after market parts for fit or functionOur parts are covered by our nation wide warranty of mo36k miles
