Review: Coffey Bros. did a tear off and replacement of our roof. They were hired because they are certified by [redacted], which entitled us to a 30 year warranty of materials. We had a number of complaints about the installation--theft of property, improper clean up, empty beer containers left on the property (all documented in a letter to the owners at the time of the installation), no use of drop cloths or ply wood to protect the house and landscaping. The roof leaked after 1 year and now the roof is leaking again. We cannot get them out to inspect the damage to see if it falls under the [redacted] 30 year warranty.Desired Settlement: An inspection of the damaged area and repair of any work that was improperly done, such as lack of flashing when they replaced plywood, or the result of faulty materials.

Upon further review, this customer has/had a 1 year workmanship warranty from Coffey Brothers which has been fulfilled. There is no lifetime/30 year workmanship warranty offered. The warranty being referred to in the complaint is a 30 year material warranty and is offered through [redacted] and not through Coffey Brothers. When speaking with the customer on the phone Coffey Brothers offered to send a technician out to review the problem and give the customer a price for fixing the issue. She was not satisfied with this, and demanded that we fix the repair without charge. After 7 years, many high wind storms, and 2 hurricanes there are a multitude of problems that have nothing to do with quality of the installation. Our offer still remains, we can have a technician come out an review the problem area and provide an estimate for fixing the problem.

Review: In April 2012, Wayne at Coffey Brothers assisted with a repair of a few roof shingles. Less than a year later, in fact only 9 months later, those very shingles fell off the roof. This issue was unrelated to any wind or storm. After calling Coffey Brothers about the issue in Feb/Mar 2013, it took 4 months, approximately 8 phone calls, and much aggravation to get Wayne to even look at the problem. Today, 6/25/13, Wayne says he wants $500 to fix the inferior job he already did. Even worse, the original work only cost $275. Price gouging since Hurricane Sandy it seems. I had told Wayne I'd be willing to pay for his materials cost and such, but to pay nearly double to repair his own shoddy repair job is ludicrous!Desired Settlement: I would be happy with Wayne fixing the original repair correctly. If he is unwilling, Coffey Brothers can pay another roofing company to do the repair.

The complaint against our company is regarding a repair (see

attached invoice) for 10 feet of ridge cap.

The issue [redacted] is referencing was not included within the scope

of work done by our company. We stand

behind and warrant all of our work, however, the work he is asking our company

to complete does not fall within our warranty.

Our service representative was on his roof and has noted several broken

shingles and determined this was a result of wind damage, most likely caused by

high winds from the numerous storms in our area after his project was

completed.

We are willing to work with [redacted] but the last

interaction with him did not end with any resolution.

We will review the pricing as quoted and offer [redacted] a

discount for the additional work he has requested from our company.
