Coffey Construction Inc Reviews (3)

[redacted] Coffey (Owner of Coffey Construction) is a WONDERFUL general contractor to work with!! My husband and I has an accident happen to our house and [redacted] was right there for us and has been VERY helpful with talking and communicating with our insurance adjuster! His team has been working very quickly to get the job done and have worked with us to make it affordable for our family. [redacted] himself is very polite and honest, which is a refreshing difference among other contractors I've worked with in the past. I would, and do, recommend him to all my friends and family who need a general contractor!

Review: The date to complete construction was noted by this general contractor as July 30, 2014. It is now the middle of September and completion did not occur. Due to apparent inability to create a firm schedule, weeks went by without work on the house. He was/is not on site to supervise sub-contractors--which resulted in inferior work, owner dissatisfaction, and, now, delays to allow for refinishing and/or repair. Commitments are not kept; timelines are not honored; excuses for sub-contractors are made; substitutions for unacceptable work are proposed rather than this general contractor insisting that the work be repaired. He did not represent the homeowner.

For example: mediocre and inoperable French doors were accepted and installed; interior doors, without apparent approval, were delivered to the painters, stained, and installed; the cement patio was poured and finished incorrectly. (To repair the finish, the entire patio must be ground down---and there is cement inside at the front door with requires repair. He scheduled this repair late and it now must be completed AFTER the wood floors were finished.) On other exterior cement finishes, stains and chips are prevalent since no direction was provided to subs nor was any cement protection utilized. He lost owner's manuals and ceiling fan remote controls. The site was not kept clean--even after the owner bought brooms and provided him with several copies of the CCR's. The painting sub-constractors' work was unsatisfactoriely completed without general contractor supervision. Vinyl tile and Silestone was inadequately installed, and the sub-contractor wasn't notified.

These issues should behave been resolved months ago---when products were received. He does not keep deadlines, timelines, or commitments. He is onsite sporadically, does not show up as promised, and leaves early. As a licensed general contractor and finish carpenter, his services and his finish work are unprofessional, irresponsible, inferior and unacceptable.

Note that the address you have for this business may not be correct. Use [redacted]@gmail.com and/or ###-###-####Desired Settlement: A deadline for owner-approved completion of September 30. Owner notification and written confirmed dates for all sub-contractor work. He is on-site (M-F, 8-5 to provide sub-constrator supervision that meets owner approval). A thorough investigation of his WA contractor licensing to prevent this from happening to others.

Review: In the fall of 2013, Coffey Construction cleared land adjacent to our property. While clearing the land all debris from said property was pushed on to our property. The material pushed on our property is dirt, wood, glass, nails and junk steel. Property corners are surveyed so there is no question the material is clearly over the property line. I need to proceed with fencing for my livestock and am unable to do so because of the pushed material. The glass and steel debris are hazardous to my livestock. I had a phone conversation in December, 2013 with [redacted], owner, he said they would "get on it". Nothing happened. I had another phone conversation in late December, 2013 with [redacted], he said "we will be working in the area in January, we will clean it up then". Nothing happened. I sent a text to [redacted] on April 2, 2014, he responded "I will clean it up when the road restrictions are lifted". I sent a text on April 15, 2014 to [redacted] telling him road restrictions were off. [redacted] responded "I will be up there on Friday (4/17), will you be around". I responded "yes". [redacted] did not show up on 4/17 and made no effort to contact me. This is the time to be putting up fencing and I am unable to because of the mess Coffey Construction made on my property. [redacted] will not respond to my calls or text messages to clean up his mess.Desired Settlement: Clean up all debris on my property that Coffey Construction placed there, within two weeks. If my livestock are injured due to the debris pushed over, Veterinarian bills will be addresed. Act professional, keep your word and be a respectful neighbor. An apology would also be in order.
