Cogent Building Diagnostics Reviews (4)

We enlisted Cogent to perform a stucco inspection on an existing property we suspected had issues Because Cogent is basically a one-person operation, be prepared for a very long wait time from inspection to report delivery The inspection was seemingly very thorough, but the builder discovered two to three times the issues that Cogent identified The most disappointing part of the process was the final report from Cogent While it had a lot of detail, it was extremely unorganized and didn't initially contain a summary Even after providing my feedback, and revisions were returned to me, it was still a very poorly-written report and not intuitive to anyone besides Cogent There are many other qualified inspectors who have the same quality of work but also comprehensive and logical reports, unlike Cogent While Cogent is knowledgeable on the topic, they are on the high side of price and I would not recommend them to anyone who is looking to purchase a stucco inspection

Review: I contracted with Cogent Building to do a Phase 3 stucco inspection and a written report on my home on 11/18/2014. I paid $1200 the day of the inspection directly to Cogent Building. It's four months later and after numerous requests to get the report, with numerous promises of getting the report to me, I still have no report. The reason for the Phase 3 stucco report was to see if there is any damage to my home due to improper stucco application, which was common during the time of my home being built. I thought that I had plenty of time to look over the evaluation to assess any damage and possible recourse if need be. I am now running up against the statute of limitations to file a lawsuit for improper stucco application due to the negligence of Cogent Building getting me the report in a timely manner. This has now put me into a very bad situation where I do not have a report for reference and may run out of time to file suit if there is an issue.Desired Settlement: I want my money back.
