Cohen and Cohen Construction, LLC Reviews (4)

As the customer stated, we have been been out to help in out fix issues that arose with the material on the deckWe also helped after our one year warranty had expiredHowever, there was mention that the customer needed to pay for material (after the one year warranty that we provide) the customer
refusedUnfortunately, we were unable to continue to work for freeThis was explained to the customer

In regards to a Cohen and Cohen Construction project for *** *** at the address of *** *** *** *** *** ** ***. *** *** has requested we stop work and not finish his project due disputes over tile work. We had four subcontractors out to this property to look at the
tile work in question and each agreed it could be repairedHowever, *** *** would not agree to let us fix the area(s) in question. He insisted that we completely remove all the tile work and re-install new tile. *** *** then proceeded to post negative reviews on websites that our company generates leads from such as *** *** *** ***, etc. He made many statements in his web post that have harmed Cohen and Cohen Construction from gaining possible contracts. *** *** stated “The original 12-week $60k project turned into a 6-month disaster and left me with about somewhere around $50k of damage to my property.” It is impossible, being just a few weeks from completion that there is $50,in damage to his propertyHe also stated: “Not only did they don’t take responsibility for their mistakes but on top of that they asked me for money to fix them and pay for the $9k of tile that was wasted by their unskilled workersAmong other issues: - Floor was not leveled before the tile was installed.” This has many statements. As stated earlier in this letter, we had four tile subcontractors come out to review the situation and each had stated that they are able to fix these areas in questionsWhen *** *** refused to allow the tile subcontractors to fix the issues, he requested to remove all tile and reinstall which amounted to a change order. He refused the change order and we were unable to finish the projectThe last statement made was: “They used unlicensed workers to do plumbing and electrical”. As required by The Town of ***, all of our subcontractors had to submit a license and proof of insurance to the building department prior to the Town of *** issuing the building permit. Cohen and Cohen Construction and our subcontractors are all licensed and insured

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2015/12/02) */

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 12, 2015/12/02) */
Complaint rectified
Please delete/remove reviewThank you!

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: - CCC is still not taking any responsibility for hiring unqualified workers to perform the job. - The proposal I received in the form of a change order did ask for an extra $5,200 and also to pay for the tiles that CCC wasted. That's simply unacceptable and a breach of the contract. - I never requested that work be stopped, I asked for the issues to be addressed.  - The subcontractors they sent to check on the tile job were:     1. A guy who could barely speak English. I would have no issue with that if CCC had sent someone who could speak and understand Spanish, not fake it.    2. A guy who attempted to explain me that I wasn't using the level right when I was showing him that the grade was the wrong one of the shower curb    3. A professional tiler who said when he saw the state of things: "I'm not interested in fixing someone else's mistakes. If you get it demolished I'll do it otherwise, I'm not interested." - yes on the permit there are licensed contractors but these people are not the ones who installed neither the water heater nor the electrical network. Sincerely,[redacted]
